Now you are here claiming victims, you guys have never been the victims you were the first group to bring tribal hate, all obi ever did was declare to run for presidency and then we were being reminded of the civil war/ Nnmadi Azikiwe/ ojuku, what happened to awolowo, what ahmadu bello said about the Igbos, who come to Lagos in night bus, who is selling gala and lacasera, Omo ale, baby factory product, ipob, unknown gun men, all this just because an Igbo man declared for presidency, but when your brother tinubu declared we were talking about his membership of Apc,how he claimed to have made buhari, his lack of integrity, balablu, age, his health his microphone licking, alpha beta, his level of corruption and lack of morals,we had issue with tinubu as a candidate, not as a Yoruba man, but you guys had issues with obi as an Igbo man now you tell me who brought tribal hate and who ran an ethnic campaign, nobody needs your vote keep it for your tribesman tinubu nobody cares, I am not Igbo but we all know the truth, you can't gaslight anyone by claiming victims, when you were the perpetrators of ethnic hate. |

Occurstaem: You're definitely the one acting like it's the Igbos who are the victims here which is not. I am not saying the Igbos are the victims here, but most of the things they are being accused of isn't entirely true and that is the misrepresentation that I find demonic, you all claim Igbos want to take over Lagos I wonder how? Tell me what the Igbos did recently that warranted the attack by bode George, the latest controversial comment about Lagos was made by the Oba of Benin, even the Lagos is a no man's land comment is a sentiment shared by many based on it's history, the federal capital status, but everytime the Igbos are exclusively criticized for it. 2 buhari ruled for eight years there were rumors about him being a clone but everytime you guys wanna mock people who believed buhari was a clone it is always the Igbos, even Reno omokri believed buhari was a clone recently I see the same man critizing the entire Igbo tribe for believing buhari was a clone, when, I fact it was everyday Nigerians who believed that rumours. 3 anyone not supporting APC is Lagos is being seen as an enemy of Lagos/ Yoruba tribe by the Ronu folks, the attack on Igbos trying to take over Lagos is strictly a political tool by the APC the numbers of Igbos is Lagos can never be enough to singlehandedly make anyone governor so why the fuss about taking over Lagos, how can someone take over Lagos when an Igbo man has never contested for governorship in the state you can all point fingers to Gbadebo being half Igbo, but even before Gbadebo the same thing was said about Igbos when jimi agbaje ran for governor under PDP even though jimi agbaje is from a royal/noble home in Lagos. 4 even with the recent Kaduna bombing by the military, you guys initially thought the kaduna commander was an Igbo man, I see how tinubu supporters even a prominent Yoruba Twitter page was trying to pin the bombing of the Igbos because it was thought the commander was Igbo when it reality he was Yoruba, the military has been bombing innocent civilian for years now never in the history of it has anyone try to put an ethnic colouration to such event, imagine this the president, the vice president, minister of defense, the chief of army staff, NSA neither of them are Igbos but you guys skipped all of this guys and tried to blame the Igbos for it, because you thought the kaduna commander was Igbo,. I am not Igbo but I see the constant attempt to always try to make the Igbos the fall guy. |

plaindealer: It's gone beyond politics, their hatred and antics especially during the last elections exposed them, their hatred and intentions to the Yoruba people was across the board and beyond politics, they ended up waking up Yoruba people because Yoruba people regardless of politics collectively felt the attacks and denigration of their homeland, their people, culture and way of life.
What Yoruba people feel and are going through goes beyond politics because politics is quite different from attacks and threats to your land, people, leaders, traditions cultural institutions, and who you are as a people.
They did the Yoruba people a favor because Yoruba people's culture of tolerance passive nature, liberal and live and let live way of life is not serving them well.
Things are different now, thanks to ibo people for getting us to this point. look the attack has come more from the southwest to the Igbos I see the hate you give to the Igbos, while I also see the hate the Igbos give to the Yorubas too, don't act like the Yoruba are the victims here. |

The opposition just need to drop their ego and come together to confront the incumbent the opposition needs to form an alliance to defeat tinubu, not just because because of the numbers of voters that alliance can pull but also based on connections at the top I am sure the pdp, heavyweight politicians still have judges and inec officials, top civil service officers, top traditional and religious rulers loyal to it's cause, with such they can gather enough clouts, because the elections will definitely be manipulated. |

epainos: So what solution has he suggested to these issues here in this very article we have read? Or do you not understand the article before you support your Obi? Tribalism will not allow you to see clearly. This is the problem with Nigeria. Right in this article, he offered no solution... and you still came on board to say he offered solutions to all that he criticised. See....Nigeria is in trouble. Real trouble. Mehn! This is serious.
Exactly my point. Whatever our regional men do... whether good or bad....corrupt or not...we sha support them blindly. So many people are supporting Tinubu cos they are from his tribe. This is not the way forward. It is wrong. So many northerners supported Buhari without thinking. This is disgusting. it's funny how you accuse me of being tribalistic when I am not even Igbo, the original tweet obi tweeted this statistics he clearly condemned the large number of delegates and adviced the govt what it should have done instead, maybe you should find the original article which obi reacted to, even during the subsidy and the renovation for the VP residence saga he also advised on what to do, even with the proposed cash transfer and increase in tuition fees issues he also proferred solutions. |
Politics › Re: Peter Obi Compares Nigeria’s Budget, Poverty Rate With China’s. Is He Correct? by Shattuck(m): 3:05pm On Dec 09, 2023 |
epainos: I will repeat "again and again" that I do not see Obi as a gift. He is a noise maker. Obi has only compared data...period!
What should he have done? Yes, the starting point is the comparison of data to show there are problems, But beyond identifying the problems, what are the possible solutions?
Also, Obi has not for a single day tried to understand what this administration is doing, but blindly criticizing everything without suggesting any solution. I am not a fan of this administration, to be honest, and I still do not see it coming out successfully, though, I used to see Jagaban as a resourceful guy. But after the revelation of his dark side, I don't respect him anymore.
If I was Obi, I would criticise or praise the solutions they are presently trying out. But is Obi doing this? Nope. He is only showing us there are problems cos of some figures he has identified. Does this give me the assurance he can fix Nigeria? Absolutely not. I am even more scared he is only beating the drum very noisily like Gen Dullard Buhari who didn't know the solution but got people who gave him Jonathan's administration shortcomings.
Obi needs to do better.
Lastly...the single factor we need to take into consideration is the effect of the multi-ethnic groups that are blindly tribalistic on the nation. Does China have this? What could have been the effect on China if it was there? Hmmmmm! This factor we want to cover up. And I repeat that this is the main factor that has been feeding corruption. This tribalism factor is the single factor I have identified as the reason corruption cannot be defeated. And is there any nation presently in the world having the same issue as Nigeria? Please, if you know, kindly tell me ....and let us analyse the nation also.
If Nigeria must be progressive, we need to tackle tribalism so we can reduce corruption drastically. No policy can work amid corruption. So, let us get rid of the source of energy of corruption first. Any policy anyone is bringing won't work as long as we cannot arrest corruption. EFCC, ICPC, and many other solutions have failed. And the reason is that we have not yet addressed tribalism.
If you ask me, I think Nigeria cannot address tribalism because this issue is too deep. So, the one solution I have is splitting Nigeria. Nigeria seems to be a nation destined to fail. Please, if you have a solution apart from my idea, bring it on board.
Thank you! obi has always offered solutions to every negative action he has criticized by this govt. |

Why not support them and wish Nigeria well as it's the only country that can win and we all win. according to tinubu supporters anyone who criticizes the wrong of this administration is hating on Nigeria, there is a thick line between loyalty to govt and loyalty to nation. Politics › Re: Ireti Kingibe: Nigeria Not Fixable As I Thought, I'm Sure Tinubu Is Shocked Too by Shattuck(m): 11:04am On Dec 09, 2023 |
SoNature: That's not true. Nigeria is hard to govern because we don't have an ideology. In fact, the North and South shouldn't even be in one country because their views about life differ. A people are easier to manage if they share the same ideals. It's easier to criticise if you are on the outside.
However, I think most politicians come to fix the problem. When they see enormous problems they are expected to fix, they become overwhelmed. Jonathan developed grey hair few days in Aso Rock and Buhari said he nearly ran away. you can't tell if it is easy to fix or hard because no Nigerian politician has ever made the move to truly fix the nation. |

casualobserver: The problem with Many of you is that you are small minded, think like simpletons and cannot see the big picture. The purpose of the conference is to source for funds for climate related and green energy projects.. When you hear for example that one village is being electrified with solar, or solar water pumps or solar boreholes, farming irrigation, flood abatement programs, this is often where the money comes from. If you are not there to present your green energy plans, you will not be a beneficiary. Most of the money is free money, not loans.
UAE alone is handing out $4b to Africa at this conference. Is it a country that isn’t there they will give the money to? Is it a ministry that isn’t there they will give the money to? US is also allocating $3b to Africa, other countries are making pledges. If you are not there you cannot benefit.
Yes there are people out there for a jamboree but there will be more funds coming to Nigeria than the total bill for the entire Nigerian delegation public and private.
The least Nigeria can expect out of what UAE alone is allocating to Africa is $300m…likely a lot more. The total cost assuming all 1400 participants are government sponsored (not so) and all actually attended (again not so) @$15k a head is $20m
You are the same people that if you hear another country received funding from COP will come here shouting why was Nigeria not there when they were sharing free money we could have used to recharge dry lakes, control flooding, provide irrigation for farmers, electrify villages, convert vehicles to CNG etc? your opinion makes no sense, so 1400 people are needed to sign deals? As long as the govt has a representative which ever deal the govt needs to sign will be signed, you don't need 1400 people for that how many signatures can be in a document by the way, you make it seem like every tom dick and Harry who works for the govt can just sign deals. In corporate world and in govt only management/executive level staff can sign deals, in this case whatever deal is to be signed by the govt can only be signed either by the president or a minister or the head of an MDA, now tell me again what 1400 people were doing there? If not for jamboree. |

FreeStuffsNG: The book "Stumbling on happiness" on my mind right now
The reality is that Edo is not monolingual so there may be no furore if a candidate turns out to be like LP's Chinedu in Lagos who can't speak Yoruba in a monolingual Lagos and had to get an interpreter during campaign too.
Asue and his siblings were born and raised in Ibadan where their parents lived, stayed and worked. They are Omo Ibadan.
Their late mum was Yoruba while their late Dad was Esan. If they were females married to Yoruba men, they could even aspire to be the Governor of Oyo state. It's the names of the boys that affiliated and restricted them as Edo, aside that, they could pass for a Yoruba family and seen as such by their Yoruba kith and kin.
Their late mum, a Yoruba woman, was particularly phenomenal and popular as well as a role model to many people in Ibadan so much that her name was a household name in Ibadan those days. Their late Dad was a Senior Staffer at the University of Ibadan.Check my signature for free stuffs! see how insensitive you sound you criticize Gbadebo for the same reason, it is widely expected that Edo central should produce the next governor, an Edo central is an esan land if he is rejected by esan central how then do you think he can win, or maybe now they shouldn't be bothered ,weather he speaks his native language is not a big deal for liberal minds and progressive like us, it is just hypocritical and shameless how you folks foolishly critized your own just because his mother was Igbo and how Igbo wants to take over Lagos, but according to you now Edo state has nothing to fear, his mother is yoruba maybe Yorubas want to take over Edo state, same way your ancestors took over Lagos and rewrote it's history, maybe we need to Edo Ronu too, but we can't Ronu because we aren't uncivilized animals. |
