City deserved to win. But the mistake was Ancelloti's. Madrid needed a four man midfield for that match. Rodrygo had no business starting the match. A four man block of man-to- man would have slowed city down.
Also, that rotation between Cama, Modric and Kroos on the left side had no business being done that early in the match when it was obvious city would be aware it led to Madrid's goal at the bernabeu but also exposes Madrid's flank since Kroos and Modric are not naturally adept at playing full backs.
In all, I think City were just hungrier while Madrid were overfed.
