, As reported by the Punch Newspapers of today, http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art20081009193626
Gunman attacks Nigerian over Obama T-shirt By Agency reporter Published: Thursday, 9 Oct 2008 An unidentified gunman has shot a Nigerian, Dube Egwuatu, in a London street for wearing a shirt with the image of United States Democratic presidential candidate, Senator Barack Obama. The Daily Mail newspaper of London reported that Egwuatu, 36, was shot on a street in South Norwood on Tuesday by the white gunman, who had threatened to kill him. The Nigerian was buying a mobile telephone top-up card in an off-licence shop when the gunman confronted him and glared at the top, which had Obama‘s image underneath the legend, ‘Believe.‘ The attacker then launched into a tirade of racist slurs, shouting ‘I f***ing hate n*****s‘ and urging the former street warden to leave the shop with him. Although the attacker then left the shop, he later accosted Egwuatu as he made his way to his car. The attacker was waiting for him in broad daylight with fierce-looking dog and holding a gun behind his back, the paper said. Realising what had sparked the increasingly violent assault, the terrified Egwuatu zipped up his jacket to cover Obama‘s image and walked to his car. But the shaven-headed man followed Egwuatu and after pulling open the passenger door, pointed the gun at him. After pleading with the skinhead to leave him alone, Egwuatu put the keys in the ignition and turned the engine on. The attacker then fired the gas-powered ball-bearing pistol three times, hitting the civil servant in the face, hand and shoulder. Fearing for his life and bleeding heavily, Egwuatu raced away in his car and found somewhere safe to call for help. He was taken to hospital and later sent to have a piece of metal removed from his jaw. Egwuatu, a data analyst with Croydon Council, said, ”The venom in his voice was frightening. He was telling me that he was going to kill me. I couldn‘t believe it was happening - and just because I was wearing an Obama T-shirt. He was trying to make me walk somewhere quieter, saying, ‘I‘ve got something for you,‘ and ‘I‘m going to kill you.” The shocked Egwuatu added, ”Obama inspires me, his educational track record alone is quite unbelievable - that is why I was wearing the T-shirt. I did not think for one minute it could stir up such powerful feelings of hatred and I never said a word to him
.” , That Jand sef, their problems plenty. Imagine wanting to kill someone jst because he's wearing a T-shirt |

I guess everybody watched that match, If u didn't well get a life I heard that Etoo was given the match of the match, The question is HOW?, because he scored the equalising goal ![]() Personally, I think the MOM should be Eric Larsoon, His introduction changed the pace of the game n He was involved in both their goals Wadyathink, Who is your man of the Match? |
yeepa:right on! a truly successful man should be happy, (note TRULY SUCCESSFUL) having accomplished all the goals he has set out for himself, he has nothing else to do but sit back, n be happy ![]() |
You guys should just leave reyes n any other arsenal player alone. They are all still young boys and a lot of responsibility was thrust upon them, alot was expected from them, Thank God they were able to handle themselves. The most disappointing striker this season has to be Drogba,, ,the guy has always been a chicken shit player, he even became worse when Cheslea spent all that money to buy him. Sure he won't be sold for half that price, |
hey guys, I'm sure you can assist me here, I'd like to know how to include an online application form in a site I am designing, thanks |
"keke Ogungbe"- The Man We Love To Hate: How come most people dislike this guy for no just reason? I won't lie, I hate the guy, I thought I was the only one (ok, ok and my brother, and my cousin, and my sister, and , ) Ok, ok, ok, I know quite a lot of people that dislike the guy. But I never knew disliking him was so general until recently when i went for an occassion on Lagos island. As usual, the area boys were there and as I passed by them, I heard what they where talking about. One of them was like, 'D1, Baba ni yen, Awon ti wa ni yen, Ma fori bale fun nigbakigba' (Meaning D1 is a big boy, he is one of us, I'll bow down to him anytime) Then he said "keke yen ni tie, ko ko ma gbe mu kiri ni tie, ku n ta osi, Ti n ba ri ni ibi, ti ko ba ri wa, wo oun ti ma se fun en, wo laye e, ko ni gba ibi ko ja mo" (Meaning, that keke, that snub of a guy, if I see him here and he doesn't settle us, i'll mess him up real bad). And they all voiced their consent in various ways. I was like sho So the question is Do you like/dislike this guy and why?

Hi, guys, been reading posts on this site for a while, there ave been some really intelligent and helpful posts. hope you guys can help me out here I was going through my address book a couple of days back and I realised that most of my friends in the diaspora will be graduating and returning to Nigeria to work. Now, here's my idea.. couldn't I set up a kind of recruiting/HR firm which could secure for jobs on their behalf b4 they return or as they return. Securing jobs for graduates from foreign schools doesn't seem to be too dificult over here, plus they could link me to other nigerian students over there....... What to you think?? |
