After creating the topic here on him missing, on Saturday 18th, we got a call from the captors (kidnapper herdsmen) demanding 20million naira ransome. He spoke first obviously terrified and crying on the phone, we tried to calm him down that all will be fine. The kidnappers then got on the phone and demanded 20million for his release. I decided not to put all these online any more for safety reasons.

We got a Hausa man to do the talking with them cos they barely could speak English, he confirmed they were Fulani. After pleading with them that the 20million couldn’t be raised, they said they would train him, that we shouldn’t worry. That was the end of the discussion for that day.

We called on Sunday again, another person picked up and he was much calmer than the one who called on Saturday. He explained that they didn’t plan to kidnap anyone but attack the military men on that route (I’m not too sure of that). He further said they were just unlucky to be traveling at that time. He said he will talk to his superiors and call back in the evening. In the evening. When we called back in the evening there was no headway as it was the first person that called on Saturday who picked the call.

No contacts were made until Wednesday and they agreed for 1 million. We were happy, but I was worried. If after paying them this money, will the persons who took the money there not be held back too? Thus, leading them to demand another money. The Hausa man and one of my brothers volunteered to travel down to deliver the money on Thursday morning. I was prepared to book their flights for them.

Around past 4pm a number called my Uncle, (cousin’s dad) I was right beside him. The call dropped at first cos he couldn’t hear what the caller was saying. A second call came in and it happened to be my cousin. He was calling from a village close to Zaria. He borrowed a phone. We called back immediately and he explained that the kidnappers randomly picked 20 of them and led them out, in his words; he said they were releasing them. He found it difficult to believe.

As they were being led out of the forest, they were attacked by some superior bandits to the ones who captured them. Both the captors and victims ran on sighting them. Luckily for them, none of the victims were recaptured by the other bandits. The villagers of the village they found themselves gave them food and water and called the cops. The cops came and lead them to Kaduna police headquarters where they were attended to.

There’s so much story to tell, but I’ll stop here. We’re glad he’s back and also thank God and everyone on Nairaland who called and assisted in prayers. I appreciate your concerns.

I pray and hope the rest of the people with the kidnappers are freed or rescued in time. He said they kidnapped over 200 persons including a nursing mother and a soldier that was traveling.

Let’s remember to pray for the release of these people and also get the government’s attention to this. Cos it’s so sad that no one made mention of the attack and kidnapped people on that road. We only heard Buhari condemned the attack on the Emir of Potiskum.

This country is not safe and the government pays no attention and have no regards for human lives.

This man wouldn’t talk about the kidnapping on 12th January 2020 on the kaduna-Zaria road. He’s here congratulating some politicians. It’s about time this country splits.
I used to have the belief that this country would get better but with the way things have gone so bad over the years. Most especially in terms of insecurity under this government where some group of people just do as they like and nothing has been done about the matter shows those country may never get better.
I now see the reason some people want out of this contraption called a country. The best thing for this Nigeria is to just split and let everyone carry his cross and region. Our being together has yielded nothing meaningful other than some people seeing themselves as the more dominant ones and rulers.

We got a call this evening. Sadly, it was from the abductors. He spoke with us, but sounded really terrified.

Sir, thank you for this sir. We also got info some were kidnapped and killed, but we aren’t sure. My uncle also said he saw the bus back in Lagos and it was riddled with bullets. I just pray he is safe. I’ve also called some of my friends in kaduna too to help on the search.

I am pleased to say that no such events has ever occurred in jigawa state. Kaduna Zaria road is notable for events like this. I advice you travel down and seek more information from police stations.

The heading didn’t say robbery in jigawa sir. I only explained he was coming from jigawa and board a bus from Kano to Lagos on Tuesday and they were attacked on Tuesday night around 11:30pm. It was reported as a robbery incident and some people were abducted too. We haven’t gotten any calls from either him or the captors.

I think his father has travelled down. The problem is the exact location this happened isn’t known. All that is known now is that it’s along kaduna zaria road.

Cousin On NYSC In Jigawa Missing

I created this thread to seek information on a robbery incident that occurred on kaduna-zaria road (maraban jos) on Tuesday night. It’s the incident that involved the attack on an emir from damaturu. I got news that my cousin was unfortunately on one of the buses that were ambushed and robbed that night (GUO).

According to reports I got from my uncle, the bus driver said the passengers all ran out of the bus for safety when the gunmen started shooting sporadically after robbing them.

I believe my cousin was part of the ones that ran away as well. All efforts to reach his lines have proven abortive. One of his phones rang and was picked up yesterday by someone(a man) but he was only speaking Hausa which no one understands, the line is no longer going through now and no words from my cousin till this moment.

What I am pleading for now is for those of us living in this area of Kaduna should please shed more light on this incident. We don’t know if there was kidnapping alongside the robbery. Everyone is worried now, it’s been over 48hrs, no calls from anyone or him. Please people living around the area or anyone with idea on what happened should pls contact me on 0905 688 3650.

Bro. No country in invincible. An adage says “we only know the beginning of a war, no one knows how it will end”. The Airstrike on Qassem was a wrong move. Peace is better than war. People’s family members have been deployed to fight something they didn’t start. Qassem might have said a lot of shit, but it’s better to let it slide than assume he’s trying to carry out an attack that’s not verified and not proven to take place. US may be bigger and definitely have better fire power than Iran, but there’s bound to be casualties on both ends, which could have been easily avoided if the Airstrike was never called.
