@ temmie10, long time no gist grin grin
how u doing.
im not too hyped about japaul, the shares from the offer is going to double the amount of shares in circulation, that will halve its eps to 0.3, which should give u 6 bucks by year end, so unless u buy the p.o, i dont see much appreciation.
anyway, pls how do u send money to your brokers in nigeria cos i have a friend who wants to open a broker account but doesnt know how shes gonna send money for purchases. do u send to ur brokers account or do u have someone pay it in for uhuh
pls holla back
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by shigidi(m): 12:21pm On Sep 14, 2007
@ wanajo, pls do u have any info about boc gases and university press limited huh they seem to have low pes.

reply will be much appreciated.

easimoni, arent u meant to be on holidayhuh wink
@ temmie10, i have three stocks that i fell are worthconsidering, they might give maximum appreciation in the near future. they are beta glass, boc gases and university press.
beta glass has already been talked about a little bit.
boc gases and university press have very low pes in their respective sectors, i dont know much about them in terms of projections but they seem to be a buy recomendation with many brokers and its price earnings are quite low.
wuill do more research to keep u posted but u can take a look at them urself.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by shigidi(m): 12:25pm On Sep 12, 2007
folargbite, its a hold hold, if u want to jump in, maybe u should wait till about february or april and take position from then.
tmoni, im not sure when oceanic will be out. but i hope really soon. it should stabilise at 35 naira by november or december but if there is bonus issue(unlikely) who knows lipsrsealed
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by shigidi(m): 11:23am On Sep 12, 2007
folargbite, do u mean GDR of guaranty trust. well i think its a long term investment, it has lowered the eps of gtb which right now is simply a good HOLD. it should start paying off from next year, GTB has a lot of sentiment attached to it and they also give bonus once in a while.
expect a very good result announced by next year end.

well it sure is taking a bloody long time. angry
why dont nigerian directors start by improving the camera quality, it looks like a porn movie camera is used. the acting is poor, the script never seems to change. there really is a long way to go.
hope we get there b4 im 40 tongue tongue
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by shigidi(m): 8:09pm On Sep 11, 2007
akinnNC, i can chance temmie10, crusader is still strong, shouldbe between 7.5-9naira by march, that is without the released funds. very high turnover.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by shigidi(m): 11:48am On Sep 11, 2007
well, im free right now so what the hey!!!
as per the banks, intercont., oceanic, FBN and UBA, diamond are all looking very juicy right now, these have the lowest forward pe ratios.
all the pos should be good in this sector the rate at which all these banks are growing.
however pls note that i think Fidelity's p.o price is been sold at a small premium cos i think its fair value should be about 9.50k, unless their year end result is fantastic.its forecast eps is 0.32.
FCMBs po is very solid. especially with the first quarter result released yesterday.
also watch out for two other aces in this sector, skye and wema. skye is slowly creeping up in price and its year end is round the cormner, it should be on par with fcmb or just slightly below in terms of eps so watch out for sky,e, its also floating a po of its own in Q1 of 2008 and there is even a bonus rumor or at least a good dividend by the time its year end is released.
as per the insurance, the major guys are wapic, mbenefits, crusaderand standard alliance. their fundamentals are looking solid and dont forget wapic is backed by intercont.

in other sectors, the stocks with good fundamentals are flour mills, wapco, nigerian-german chemicals, dangote sugar.
also there are good growth stocks like japaul oil, c&i leasing, university press, these are more long term stocks but they are not doing badly.
so best of luck and God bless cool cool cool cool

If they give you a hard time and you don't like stress (like me), gradually sell off all your stock with your current brokers (over a long period o!) and gradually buy all your new orders through the new guys. Once your account hits zero, FREEDOM! This is the last resort.
@ oga easiii grin grin
if you follow this last resort, will you still have the same CSCS number as u had with the previous firm. cos i got my CSCS number through thebrokers i want to change from.

Temmie10:
@Shigidi
About the stockbroking capitalisation.
Even in a case where your brokers do not meet the capitalisation, you money is not going to be locked-in or anything.
To be safe tho, you might want to consider having an account elsewhere and gradually migrate your holdings.
Migrating everything immediately can have undesired effects.
There is possibility of preferential allotment in pp, but most pp's are nowhere near full subscription.
as always temmie10, ur help is greatly appreciated, but what undesired effects are u talking about?
and u didnt answer the question about if pps issue certs or it goes straight to ur CSCS.
thanks bro cheesy

@ temmie 10, this private placement thing is new to me, do u have to wait for certificates as well? and is there preferential allotment(i.e is there a chance ur money will be returned).
pls reply cos this union diagnostics thing is proving very interesting.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by shigidi(m): 11:32am On Sep 07, 2007
@ easimoni, temmie 10,
there is a mater that bothers me cry cry
its about this stock brokers capitalisation thing. my brokers are quite small, securities solutions limited in foreshore towers. i dont think they will make that 1 billion so what happens, should i transfer to another firm or whathuh
i need to understand this a bit more cry cry undecided
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by shigidi(m): 3:42pm On Sep 06, 2007
@temmie10, ure right, there seems to be an unexplained boom nin the insurance sector cos there are no fundamentals to support this.
personally, i wanted to wait till christmas b4 taking position in mbenefits and putting more in crusader,
do u think thats a good time to wait cos im not sure this bull run is gonna lasthuh
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by shigidi(m): 1:32pm On Sep 06, 2007

PoliticsOmehia Offers 1m To Reformed Cultists! by shigidi(op): 12:31pm On Sep 05, 2007
according to yesterdays vanguard newspapers, governor of rivers state celestine omehia is offering 1million naira(yes 1m angry) to all cultists who reform from the dewell and degbam cults.
this is without a doubt one of the most stupid decisions made by a governor in recent memory.
how is that gonna guarantee p/h safety, all this is gonna do is encourage more cultists to spring up, cause havoc and then reform and collect a bloody paycheck shocked shocked
only in nigeria i say.

InvestmentRe: Stocks That Can Make You Rich In 2007 by shigidi(m): 12:11pm On Sep 05, 2007
@ easimoni,
did u factor in the recent 1 for 5 bonus given by niger insurance? and also, mbenefit has a better forward pe than standard alliance doesnt it?
when would u consider it a good time to dive into these insurance stocks, m thinking december/january.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by shigidi(m): 12:52pm On Sep 04, 2007
@ temmie10,easimoni, WAPCO is another great one. lowest pe ratio in the building sector by far. lowest projected pe ratio too. eps of 4.7 is forecasted
InvestmentRe: Stocks That Can Make You Rich In 2007 by shigidi(m): 12:46pm On Sep 04, 2007
@ easimoni,
have some insutrance info u might find intersting. sovereign trust insurance had a q1 eps of 0.07. according to stockswatch magazine. if that gives an eps of o.28, this should be another 5.5k stock. this gives the maximum price appreciation(from todays price) of all insurance stocks.
InvestmentRe: Stocks That Can Make You Rich In 2007 by shigidi(m): 4:53pm On Sep 03, 2007
easimoni, so sorry bout ur beloved GTB cry cry,
thank goodness the intercontinental certs are out.
@ mc dreamy, was it posted to ur mailbox or ur house. pls reply.
InvestmentRe: Stocks That Can Make You Rich In 2007 by shigidi(m): 12:28pm On Sep 03, 2007
@ easimoni,
im confused when it comes to GTB. i previously had a forecast eps of 1.6 in calculations, but on adding their gdrs, i have about 1.3. this turns it from a good buy to a good HOLD. but are these gdrs meant to be listed on the nse or the lse, should it affect our calculations in nigeria if they can be traded in london at any point in timehuh till im clear, i no fit enter this one. smiley
