What the op described is child abuse not discipline. I live in Canada but I'm gonna spank my kids if they misbehave.

I'm all for correcting verbally and what not but when I see white kids acting cray all around, I know that spanking is necessary. Sometimes kids have to feel the warmth of fingers on their butt. As a kid, my dad wasn't strict but the occasional slap kept me in line.

My mum worked and had 4 kids. No househelp or relatives. We went to daycare, and I'll like to say we turned out alright.

We did have help on Saturday mornings to do the laundry, etc when we were little and my mum made us do it with them lol.

lol, sounds like me. I love the "no makeup makeup" look. I use quite a few products to achieve.this.and some people think I don't wear makeup and I'm thinking "if only u knew" haha

You need to see her make up kit,I'm not sure there's anything beauty and make up wise that you won't find in there,i often wonder how she manages to do it but the beautiful thing about her and her routine is that even after applying all those plenty things,one would hardly even know(she still manages to look as natural as possible),she spends mega bucks on her beauty products and its kinda annoying.

CC, sounds like your family is doin a great job there cos that's exactly how I was raised. When my friends ask me why I'm so confident, it's hard to explain that it's as a result of my upbringing.

I'm self assured, not cocky and this is as a result of my relationship with my dad as a child. My parents are divorced now, but I'm grateful to him for doing that.

Parents pls don't stop building your daughter's confidence even when they're older. I went through a period of low self esteem when I was 13, and my parents helped me get out of that.

You should see those 2, always complimenting themselves for making gorgeous kids with the perfect bodies lol. When I got to that age, my dad didn't even want me to shave my legs, or tweeze my brows cos I was perfect and he didnt see the point lol.

I'm 21 now and I know I'm not perfect, but being called perfect helps.
