She took a bad angled picture of herself with an untidy and unkept hair and called it makeup free selfie. No "makeup" does not mean unkept. |

Maybe her church is not a multi-national franchised organisation where the Sunday revenues are in millions of Dollars. |
Nigeria is the only place in the world where a factory that employed 200 people will be closed down and replaced with a church where 100 people will come too and pray for a job. |
Benita27:Ok, I'm waiting till when they will make Kate Moss black. |
I'm a proud African. Countries around the world are perfecting Machine Learning, Artificial intelligence and Cloud Computing. 3d printing is being intoduced to Medicine to print limbs and organs. Private companies are now going into Space transport business and we still exhibiting wooden crafts as "This is Africa". We still don't build our bridges, we still don't even produce 100 tonnes of steel a year as a nation. We don't have incorporated companies that own the technology that exploit our oil resources. We don't know what to do with Bitumen and Tin Ore that we have in excess except for a corrupt politician to collect bribe from a foreign company and hand over the licence to them. Foreign multinational companies and China are buying off our land whilst encroaching the wealth of the future generation. |
Anarchy everywhere in Nigeria except rich people that lives in a bubble. |
NERDYDREAMS:Show me where Paul or Jesus preached paying tithe. But I can show you where Christians gave money in the new testament and it was not called Tithe. 2 Corinthains 9: 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 1 Corinthians 16:2 On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. If we are saying we will use being "Biblical" as a basis, then you can commit murder because 1 Samuel 15: 3 says: Now go and completely destroy the entire Amalekite nation--men, women, children, babies, cattle, sheep, goats, camels, and donkeys." You try and destroy your enemy's property and kill enemy women and babies and see if you wont go to jail or even be sentenced to death. What I find unbelievable is the way Christians have mixed the Bible together to the point of not being able to understand the context, reason behind and the the difference between the old and new covenant. |
I celebrate with you. Just a question, Are you sure pretty lady? As you grow up and get more mature, your view and desire in life developes and then you realise your need to accomplish new goals. I don't think at 20 years of age, one's view and desire have been adequately accentuated to the extent of committing to a life long institution such as marriage. Just my opinion and I wish the lady well. |
DBlackCeazer:Trust me the white man did not do anything for Nigeria than to exploit it for economic reasons. Every infrastructure they built was to facilitate the export of raw materials and to control taxes and capital. They exploited Nigeria and many African countries to the core that they actually underdeveloped Africa. The fundamental problem of Nigeria apart from corruption is basically along the lines of ethnicity which is as a result of the amalgamation of different ethnic groups into one country, I agree we need to solve that issue and consolidate ourselves as a nation because at the moment we still haven't. The different kingdom/communities in what we know as Nigeria today were developing in their own way before European contact, one proof is the quality of arts and crafts that were prodiced in OYO, Ife, Benin Kingdom which were of the same standard as the European ones. Nigeria has issues like many countries around the world. Children as young as six were working in bad conditions in factories across England even up to the early 20th century. |
It will be good to know the location. Is it a village in the middle of nowhere or was that the normal classroom setting Nigeria had at the time. I doubt it. |
LUGBE:Why do people say this when someone they don't know buy something they like/need/want/admire. Everything is vanity anyway. Even the food you eat is vanity. Life is vanity in itself. 200 years from now, the people living then will not even care about us. |

More Churches, More Corruption, More Unemployment, More Economical Decay, More Religious people. The African man thinks he can pray himself out of underdevelopment and poverty because he has religion. The Bible says while the Earth remains, summer and winter, night and day, seedtime and harvest time shall never cease. He has to think (Use his God-given brain) and innovate out of poverty. It deeply disturbs me that our Politicians and society do not take the position of People Empowerment and clear economic policy towards nation building. They have ceased to ignore the history of nations that embarked on a journey that transitioned them from peasantry to economic greatness. The Enlightenment and Industrial Revolution was possible when people stopped thinking that crop failure was not caused by angry gods but rather due to lack of better irrigation and well-nurtured ground. Limitation in crop growth is not due to the anger of God but rather due to a need to invent synthetic fertilizer. It’s like praying against accidents on bad roads when the roads are in bad conditions and driver’s license is easy to acquire. We will have fewer accidents only when we fix our roads. The life expectancy in Japan is 88, in Nigeria, it's 47.7, yet Japanese are more into Buddhism while Nigerians are more into Christianity and Islam. We believe we have the right God, true but God will not cheat people who are committed and work hard to have safe transportation, efficient healthcare, quality education, efficient energy generation over people who have a sense of entitlement with government institutions that are fundamentally corrupt. Angelina Jolie cut off her breast because she had 90% chance of having breast cancer (not when she had it, before any trace of cancer cell was found) and due to the high risk of the disease in her family. Now that’s a scientific pattern telling humans to act now, act now or you’ll be a victim. I believe Science is not contradictory with God. God clearly said to the children of Israel, chose Life that you might live. God is telling us today, chose life Nigeria, stop corruption that you might have a great nation. |
Don't forget his brother is doing time in jail for murdering a black guy. It runs in the family. |
Rosskii:I love you for that line. I am always surprised when I hear Nigerians based in Americans abusing black Americans that they are too hard-core. Reason is black Americans saw through first-hand experience, the evil that the White Man perpetuated through Jim Crow law, Segregated schools, being prevented from voting. But us Nigerians came to the USA as economic immigrants/students that care less about social justice and equality but to make dollars, the only thing some Nigerians care about in the USA is money and shopping. Our Senator even went there to do nothing but take pictures in a mall rather than meeting congressmen and discussing the development of his nation. |
delexy123:He is right. Look at Saudi Arabia, they just allowed women to start drive in 2017. That’s fundamental Wahhabi religion for you. They believe before a woman can even leave the house and travel, he needs permission from her master, man. Majority of the whole world use to subscribe to one form of religious belief that constrained them to innovate in one form or another. The Catholic Church did the same to the Europeans in the middle age. Please read about Portuguese Inquisition and Spanish inquisition. The Renaissance and the industrial revolution which occurred later were a success because the concomitant of religion such as Feudalism, Divine Right of Kings and Serfdom lost its on people. As a side note, spirituality (knowing and following God by faith for one self) is very different from organised or statehood religion like we have today. A nation like Saudi is a religious theocracy that tells people how to think, behave and act. |

DarkRebel69:Interesting reply. I agree with your point that religion has always proven to be counterproductive to advancement, scientific and technological breakthrough. The Catholic Church in the 14th century was the powerhouse of technology in Europe and these technologies were kept in a very close-knit circle. In fact, things changed in later centuries when people became free and were more enlightened. I am pro-progressive and at the same time a Christian. (I don’t call myself a liberal Christian though, because to me that probably means a Christian that is pro-everything, but at the same time, I believe people deserve the right to do what they want). I understand that humans are beginning to break the boundaries that have held them for years. People use to believe in the infallibility of the King. The whole populace of an empire use to be nothing but serfs and subjects to Emperors/Tsars/Kings. And then people were liberated, they had the right to own properties. They were endowed with social, civic right, patent right and the right to pursue happiness. Women can do what they want with their body nowadays and not be called prostitute. Gays/Lesbian and Transgender can shout and declare their sexual orientation without been ostracized (In the Western world anyway). BUT (A BIG BUT), Where is this whole progressive movement leading to? Maybe paedophiles will come out in the next decade and say “IT IS NATURAL FOR US TO BE ATTRACTED TO KIDS”. In fact there was a similar movement in the UK in the 1980s who lobbied for the reduction of age of consent to 13/14 years. Maybe a movement will arise and say, Spouse don’t have to be faithful to their wives/husbands, in fact you can be married and still share your body with someone else. These questions and many more are the questions that I’m asking, where does it stop, if we cannot find an answer to that question, then morality might have been a myth all along. |
A society dominated by a conservative ideology could be less progressive the same way an over-subscription to liberalism could deeply confuse society. Humanity has reached a stage of nothing is wrong "if it makes you feel good, you can have it" as far as you don't encroach on anyone's right. |

Legend!!. I grew up watching Mama Rainbow in the days of VHS cassette and DVD player. May God continue to bless her, increase her and make her wax strong in good health In Jesus name. #Nostalgic #BestDays #DaysIwillNeverForget |
I don't get this at all. Mr Tagbo (May his soul RIP) drank himself to stupor as an adult. They probably took him to the hospital because he was very drunk and also not responding. Is the fact that Davido instructed his folks to take him to the hospital a bad thing, Davido and others must have seen that Tagbo is in a very bad condition. Maybe the guys that went to drop him got there and saw that Tagbo wasn't responding and they panicked, that's where an issue is. They shouldn't have abandoned an incapable and intoxicated person, that was carelessness in their part. I can't even see a charge of manslaughter here at the same time. |

columbus007:He was just part of a Kleptocracy system that has continually dominated Nigeria since the early 1970's. The military Generals and well connected Civilians elites milked Nigeria dry in a period where many countries across the world were dedicated to nation building. Now we are still playing catch-up in a very developed and globalized world. Abacha is no more of a bad man than Gowon, OBJ, IBB, Mike Akhigbe, Buhari, Abdusalami, Danjuma and many more. |
Could this be a forceful interpretation of the verse in Isaiah 4:1 - "In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, "We will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!" |
Even renowned polygamist regretted they embarked on that journey. He'll learn eventually. |
