youngest85:Diseases caused by sugar and salt kill more people a year than HIV. Get an education, HIV is not the killer it use to be due to medical advancement. |
Humility is really a virtue sha. Only few possess it. Only if we don't point fingers and get offended and simply carry on with what we have been tasked to do, how sweet will everything be. |
To be honest Op, Nigeria is underdeveloped and labour productivity in some states is close to less than $10/month. Lagos state is arguably the only state that attracts major investors in Nigeria apart from oil producing states that have the western companies coming in to invest in oil infrastructure. Infrastructure investors are not encouraged to invest in our energy, utilities, aviation sectors because of several key factors such as socio-political, corruption, security issues. How can states such as Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Kwara not have credible power plants, how many MWh of electricity do these states deliver to customers per year?. If you have a choice as an investor of investing in Kara, Togo with no violence and kidnapping OR Ibadan, Oyo with kidnapping and vandalism, you will select Kara, Togo of course. One solution is that government should work more with both local and international investors and provide them with attractive incentives where infrastructure will be built. Infrastructure drives business and fosters economic growth which will in turn increase employment. We need private investors coming in to build power plants at a rate of 20/year around various states. There are several infrastructure funds around the world seeking where to invest but they are always traumatized by Nigeria because of its instability. |
So people still stoop so low to this Lagos is better and posh while Ibadan is local and underdeveloped argument. My advise to Lagosians is to be careful what you wish for and please do know that people in other countries don't rate your city that much. They call it a slum where goods and people movement is nothing but chaotic. |
Jungle justice at its highest peak, the ironic thing is they have actually committed a criminal act in causing an injury to another human being that has not physically harmed them (yes he harmed their daughter but burning his manhood is not protecting yourself from him whilst attacking you). Two wrongs don't make a right. Now his conscience cannot condemn him anymore, why?, He has suffered for his sin. |
gbegemaster:No 1.) Its linear elastic and non linear plastic. 2.) Hooke's law |
mickeyenglish:They were rubber barons who provided capital to fund many projects and in doing so enhanced industrialization which help in fostering the rise of the middle class in late 19th and early 20th century in America. They got ridiculously rich in the process. To be honest, you cannot compare those times to now. In 1900, people did not think it made sense that one day: Most people will be able to afford a car Most people can produce iced drink in their homes by not storing blocks in wooden boxes but through 24hr runnign refrigerators. Most people can fly on a plane to go on holiday Internet was more than a dream. |
Btruth:Architecture and UK don't exist together for homes. You might be very impressed with the interior though. |

eph12:Hebrews 8:13 English Standard Version In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away. The New Covenant is stand alone.it is not complementing anything o.You cannot be under two covenants. It's not possible. You can only be under one. |
DickDastardly:My brother, I appreciate your point but I think you might be wrong. GRACE is even harder than 10 commandments. Ten C says do not murder.Christ in New Covenant says do not be angry in your heart(If you do you've The murdered already) The thing is Ten C... deals with outer actions, New Covenant Christianity starts from the heart then outer actions. So is is not eating pork or cutting our hair that makes us holy(The law in old covenant says these things) but rather pleasing and doing the will of God in all areas (Even in areas that is not directly stated by the law), for example what does the law says about smoking, but in New Covenant when you have the holy spirt, you can get an answer.I hope you get me. But to be realistic, the issue today is most christians are not truly filled with the Holy spirirt, hence the whole notion of Grace and empowerment of the holy spirit is becoming more of a theory everyday, that's why people go back to the law that looks "practical" but at the same time does not make you whole like the holy spirit does for the pure reason that the law does not give full redemption,Grace under Christ gives. |
Ashleydolls:I agree my you my sister o.It's a mentality of entitlement of a lot of African men(Even the way they talk to their wives is military).Anger needs to be eliminated in a man in order to have a successful marriage. (WHY? Because he's the leader and the strongest physically)Yes our spouses can do awful things but we need to be calm and walk away. I've thought of it several times and there is absolutely NO REASON why a husband should batter his wife. |
No point in destroying them. These are still capital resources that could either be sold or used for state welfare provision. All the government needs to do is to use its power to confiscate the properties. |
nanizle:Let me tell you bro, we have a backslidden church, but we don't know. Compare our results to the churches of old(with all our technology and money). What is the difference between believers today and the world. In Acts of Apostles, when they wanted people to share food (share ordinary food), they sought after men filled with the holy spirit who have certain level of maturity in the christian faith(not Babes), See below: 3 Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; 4 but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” The problem today is we have carnal impostors as leaders who would not even pass a test of a 17 years old girl living in their house for a month, they would defile her. Bro self-control is a requirement for the work of God. Pastor job is not easy and the same time not for weaklings or Mr "I cant keep my eyes off women". If you check 1 Timothy of the requirements of a Deacon, talkless of a pastor. It not by force o. Maybe we even have too much churches. if the criteria to open churches are high, not just i know the word, everyone knows the word these days. It leads me to people that will open there mouth and say men are naturally polygamous by nature, well human being are naturally insatiable, go and be stealing then. We need self-control in all proportion in life to gain god's approval. |
nanizle:No I disagree, its not by force to become a Pastor. If you don't have self-control and still suffer when you see sexy young girls in shorts, don't become a pastor. The same way you can't join the army if you are not ready to go to war.ITS NOT BY FORCE. DON'T PLAY THE "THEY ARE ORDINARY MEN CARD". Christians shouldn't even be ordinary people (No be royal priesthood Bible call us) talkless of a leader/shepherd defiling the sheep. Evil upon Evil x 1,000 |
Even a child will know the name was added to the website as a proof.I'm not supporting him though but the alledged proof is just an amateur work of adding someone's name to a website source code and then screenshot it. |
frank043:I said potential solution and not last resort. If you see my other comments you will see I said reinforced raft founded on a more stable soil layer. |
COOLDK:If the weak soil is excavated to quite stronger soil at about -1.5m with better bearing pressure and then a reinforced raft can be adopted. But in very loose sand with high water table, piling might be the only option. |
jeftalene:I enjoyed reading your post. CFA piling is a potential solution to overcoming a weak soil with poor subgrade reaction and bearing pressure. The problem with construction in Nigeria is there are no strong Building Controls,Health and Safety Executive and Construction regulations that punishes poor construction. People are more concerned with getting the building up irrespective of the ground conditions and the construction methodology adopted. |
Tomjazzy2:People should stop popularising "Men are polygamous by nature" statement.Yes but there is something call self-control. It's like saying humans have a natural tendency for insatisfaction, yes but you need to find contentment unless you will become a thief. |
DaudaAbu:I couldn't just click like,I had to say thank you and help me ask him o |
davidif:It's not only Africans that says what I said.Obviously you can be fine and wealthy.Opps I am not aware of that before. It's funny when people hear opinions contrary to theirs and they will start saying it's because of your Africannes. The worst ideology of life is not even in Africa but in Europe and North America. Again, I repeat looks should not carry anybody away.I don't care if you are broke or not. |
pocohantas:Ok stay there and be eating fine boy after 10 years then. In my opinion, looks will hold a woman down for about 3-5yrs, when looks now become negligible, what next?. A lazy fine boy don't even deserve to have a had-on. I am very pro don't marry for money but love. I am also not blind to what is going on around me. |
Kaymaxine:I hate to admit it and I cant believe I'm saying this, being handsome is only needed when you are broke. Ask Noeimie Lenoir and Beyonce that what do they see in Makelele and Jay-Z respectively. I'm not saying they will love you either but most women nowadays seem to want a guy that can provide the good life. |
The quest to enjoy the riches that you have not worked for has gripped people across the world significantly. We now call the older generation old school and fun spoilers for emphasizing hard-work. People want to be like the Jones. Where are the ideals of hard-work, diligence, and contentment? May God help us all. |
GossipHeart:Every country has its own unique normality. Big does not necessarily mean good and small does not mean good too. Everybody knows that if you are looking for luxury, you will likely feel/see it more in the states. Everything in America is big and in your face. When they asked Chimamanda Adichie on why she choose America over the UK, she said America has more money to hand out. She’s right, it’s only in America I see business men giving a university $250M It’s true that UK houses are smaller and the American houses are big. Their garages are for two cars etc, that’s certainly a luxury in the UK. Many of those UK houses that people see and call cheap are more expensive than some of the USA ones when you directly compare the status of the suburb (there’s no sense comparing NY for example to Leeds, of course, NY is 10 times more expensive). On the being rich, I can only laugh, yes Americans appear on the surface to live large, big house, big car, big everything.I also find out that most of them have huge debts. Most buy everything even TV on debt. I believe the richest guy is the one that owes no man anything irrespective whether his bed is tiny or not and that person could be living in Abeokuta or New York or Dubai. I will certainly not use American houses and cars to justify their financial health. |
The ironic thing is, this guy carries a religious book with him everywhere he goes, shouldn't the holy book inform him that stealing from the people he leads is bad. I recommend a book that every African should read, Why Nations Fail by Daron Acemoglu. In that book, most of us will think the author had our leaders in mind when he wrote the book. |
OBAGADAFFI:I'm talking about the very beginning when Africa had a civilisation and the greedy westerners came to destroy and loot. They terminated kingdom and created a new colony. They then handed over an already faulty system to corrupt African leaders through "Independence" who obviously continued with the faulty system creayes by the masters. You cannot amalgamate people of different cuture, language, religion and beliefs into one gigantic nation called Nigeria and expect not to have problems of soci-economicnissues. European nations like Serbia is only 7.5 million, Estonia,Croatia etc. These are small nations that represents it's own people. I'm not saying a massive nation state of different cuture cannot work but as far as a tribe sees itself as superior to other tribes within a nation there will not be a balance. |
OBAGADAFFI:Because South Africa was not looted the way other Sub Shara African countries were looted. The westerners lived and developed South Africa with the technology they had while they stole from other sub saharan africa, they sent their kings on exiles(Calabar etc),destroy their kingdoms(Kenya etc). That's why |
Mr preacher definitely doesn't know his history. Check Fassil Ghebi in Ethiopia The ancient Benin Kingdom walls that enclosed 2500 sq miles which was known to be the largest structure ever built by man during that time. Sub-Sahara Africa had its own early civilisation, we designed crafts, arts that had the same quality as the Greeks, Romans etc,we traded locally and nationally. If you have a civilisation and some foreigners with advanced military power came to destroy, loot, enslave, acquire your land, colonise and then amalgamate you with other tribes to form a nation-state, by doing that they've successfully discontinued your civilisation and your identity is lost. For me that's the greatest problem of everywhere that was colonised such as many countries in Africa and India.Check non western countries that was not extensively conquered and enslaved(I mean for long period of time) such as China, the story will be different. I have no doubt that if Sub-Sharan Africa was not enslaved and colonised it would have been 100 times better than what it is now. |

.. Google her company and see how many people she has in her company.. Not more than 70 people, and she's the richest black woman in the world. All they know is luxury offshore homes and badass private jets from Boeing and Gulfstream. They are living the live of gods.
