While your dream appears to be pointing in that direction (if I were to interpret it), I cannot definitely say God is calling you as you're not even sure you are born again. The safest way to confirm such calling is first from the word of God, and then other seniors in Christianity will confirm it over time. But if you're not a regular at church, there is no way that will happen.
I will advise you join a Bible-believing church and be a devoted worker. The calling over your life will easily emerge (if you are called). |

Christianity Etc › Re: Your Dreams Explained by sholay2011(m): 3:33pm On Sep 30, 2019 |
sholay2011: I had a dream about a woman in my church that has 4 children (saw 3 of the children in the dream as well).
In the dream, I went to greet them at home and noticed some parts of the house were empty. I inquired and she explained they were just raided by thieves.
I was kinda down emotionally in the dream and the first child came and hugged me in a comforting way. Then I saw myself seated and the second child serving me cold water and ensuring I am seated very well.
The third child came into the scene just waking up from sleep and added "Kilishi" (dried peppery meat common in Northern part of Nigeria and a very cherished food here abroad if gotten) to what the second child served me and then sat with me.
I didn't see the last child in the dream though. These family just joined my church and I am just getting to know them and they all seem to like me very much. The shocking thing I have learnt so far is that the third child that just woke up from sleep in my dream literally LOVES to sleep like there is no tomorrow. Even his siblings tease him constantly as he dozes during church service at times.
An interpretation dropped to my mind when I woke up but I am curious of the interpretation I get here as well. Thanks.
@TayehJiboluwa It was like I had a follow-up to this dream. In the dream, there was a buffet of very good and tasty food and I was taking some into my plate alongside this woman in my church. She then walked up to me to explain she has been trying to teach her sons how to cook but they even struggle to cook noodles. I kinda agreed in the dream I will help. I also saw another prayerful woman in my church (a close friend of the woman that walked up to me) taking from the buffet as well. I woke up confused because I know her children sort of know how to cook, at least noodles! lol...I have been quite close to the family since the last dream which I quoted. But an interpretation dropped into my heart that the food here means something like the word of God or something spiritual, not literally food. I will appreciate your input as well. Thanks. @TayehJiboluwa |

Christianity Etc › Re: This Is What Most Preachers Won’t Tell You Whenever They Preach About Prodigal by sholay2011(m): 4:12pm On Sep 23, 2019 |
Well said OP.
And another revelation I got was that the original version of the bible that I personally recognize (KJV, and even most versions) do not refer to him as the PRODIGAL son. He is referred to as the LOST son. Calling him a 'prodigal son' focuses only on his spendthrift attitude to collect his inheritance prematurely and waste it, but the actual written name in the Bible (the Lost son) is from an empathetic perspective of a young man who seemed to not be thinking right, blinded by the desire for 'freedom' and material things, but will soon realise (hopefully not too late) that path only leads to destruction.
Till today, we choose to refer to him as the prodigal son as therein lies our judgmental attitude as Christians of today as we think we are better if all we do is just tell a little lie, change a little figure at our workplace, so far we are not demanding our inheritance from our Father prematurely. The major point of the story was being lost, and being found. Anyone that is not joyful at such result (and that includes the elder brother in the story) may have a worse fate in eternity. |

God Almighty I thank you. The beginning and the end. The One that made heaven His home and earth His footstool. My Father who has measured the waters of the earth in the hollow of His hand; measured the heavens with a span or calculated the dust of the earth in a measure. He weighed the mountains in scales and hills in a balance (Isaiah 40:12). I'm nothing without You but with You, I am everything. I give you all the glory.

positivelord: Those are unnecessary religious practices which Jesus Himself was having repeated problem with the Pharisees..they were angry with Him for healing on a Sabbath day ...they were more particular about time and day than the good work been done . I am extremely surprise to hear this from Papa Adeboye...Jesus break bread twice in the Bible..first during the passover and then after His resurrection. Luke24 (30-31). Unlike the first time, the second time their eyes were open and it was during the day.. I agree with your post but Luke 24:29 indicated the time was 'towards evening'. Some other versions say 'getting late'. |

Christianity Etc › Re: The COZA Story( Man's Own Idea Of Being Scandalous) by sholay2011(m): 8:54pm On Jul 05, 2019 |
Eberejesus111: Very true, I'm not refuting these claims dear brother, but my main issue is judgement done on someone or anyone in social media and every man and sunder follows suit because of the greater good.
And yes, there's man's own punishment for his own sins done by perpetrators in his society. But as Christians I am edifying us, not to follow the crowd. They know not what they do, but we ( being Christians) have the greater wisdom and we do know that God's judgement is greater than man's judgement.
Rape is no different than stealing, or murder or lying according to God's own view but man has accustomed these sins to suit himself, thereby making one sin in his society greater than the other.
An example worth noting is Homosexuality, did you know that in the 19th to 20th century, this was sin as a great sin in the society, that even people who practiced such, were killed instantly. But look at it now, this is now a sin, the world is advocating for as a normal way of life. You get the point, my beloved brother? Man is not God. Crime is different from sin. All crimes are mostly sins before God, but not all sins are a crime before man. The fact that God considers all sins equal does not invalidate the severity of certain crimes. If you notice, what is usually considered crime are things that do not involve the consent of all parties involved: rape, theft, murder etc. My point is your thread is somehow as this 'God's judgment is not man's judgment palaver' is a slippery slope that we shouldn't even embark in the first place. Of course, God's judgment is different from man's and as Christians, we should acknowledge THE TWO because while we are God's children by His grace, we are currently in our earthly bodies, hence, subject to man's judgment as well. It's like saying a Christian Judge should free a murderer because he has truthfully repented and God has forgiven him. It doesn't make sense. |
Christianity Etc › Re: The COZA Story( Man's Own Idea Of Being Scandalous) by sholay2011(m): 5:17pm On Jul 05, 2019 |
This is a short-sighted take on the issue at hand. What you keep ignoring is that there is SIN, and there is CRIME. The former is against God (and He has the prerogative to forgive you), and the latter is against man (and you usually suffer the consequences, mostly legal).
What the Pastor is being accused of (rape) is both SIN and CRIME. The fact that it is a crime makes it worthy of investigation and legal consequences if found guilty. It is only naïve to start saying 'let he without sin cast the first stone' in the case of alleged rape.
Fornication is a sin; rape is a sin, alongside a crime. |
