zed7: I know how you feel, especially as you consider yourselves a team. You feel hurt and betrayed. Let me tell you the truth, in life you are on your own. There is a limit to what others can do for you or what others can give you. Even a little child in kindergarten still has to go to class on his own and write his exams, as a parent you can't do that for him.
Never rely on anyone and never set your expectations high when it comes to others. That's the only way not to ever be shocked or heartbroken. No one owes you anything but yourself. Even we as individuals sometimes fail ourselves. @OP...Take this advice and drill it into your heart (not just your brain). You sound like a good-hearted person though and sometimes, others think they can 'use' such kind of person as a stone to step on while going for something higher. Sadly, what people don't know is life is more than things. But be careful, even as the person with a 'free and open' mind. Don't be naïve. |

payperpost: do you know this your comment can do more damage to his family and that of your country men if the authority get to see it? please try to make positive impacts in life of people. Oh please! Nigerians and sentiment...how can our country ever make progress? This couple is clearly painting a very dark and ancient image of Nigeria that will not just further dent the chances of future applicants from Nigeria but even those that are already here in Canada where your fellow workers will keep asking if you're from Nigeria: that backward country. Nigeria has its challenges but we shouldn't join hands to worsen its image as this undeveloped village where no one is using their brains. No wonder, some white people still picture Africa as a place where lions and elephants are walking around with monkeys swinging from trees to trees while the people are half-naked, fetching dirty water from polluted streams and swimming in cholera. As humane as we should be, this couple should be deported. This is not about supporting a family's hustle at the expense of thousands of families that will eventually go through the right route (or even wrong route but with more sensible lie), and at the expense of the image of Nigeria. No wonder, even our visa approval waiting period is one of the longest in the world already for Canada. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Does Religion Lower iq?. by sholay2011(m): 6:06pm On Nov 28, 2019 |
I can only speak from the perspective of Christianity.
Christianity does not lower IQ (on the contrary God gives you more wisdom) but expects you to submit your will to God. The average human being gets upset when his or her will is restricted or hampered. This is why we need the grace of God to do this.
Now, there are people who go to ridiculous extent to do some strange things such as worshipping their Pastor (instead of God), eating grass as commanded by their Pastor etc...when you closely examine their intents, they are not even that interested in God, they just want what God can give- how their needs can be met- and so, they will rather take selfish and lazy routes rather than do both the actual spiritual and physical work. It will appear they have low IQ but they are selfish, greedy and ignorant people. Okay, some may actually have low IQ in this sense...lol.
BUT
If you as an unbeliever is trying to use human comprehension to understand the things of the Spirit, then you are on your own because this is an entirely different case! This is because God uses the foolish things of this world to confound "the wise". It is fallacy to associate believing in God with low IQ on the average when Albert Einstein even believed in God. And the wisest person recorded is in the word of God.
And who IQ help anyway?? The race of life is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor the success to those with high IQs. |

eleojo23: So they should not ask for their money?
Didn't the patient's know that they will pay money before coming there?
It's better to find a way to settle the bills instead of running away. Hospitals are not charity organisations! Somebody paid for all the drugs and equipments you see in the hospitals. Quality healthcare is not cheap.. Well said. One of the problems we have in Nigeria is sentimentality. We can't just be contractual on some issues with both parties fulfilling their obligations. As touching as it sounds that patients should not be "left to die" because they "simply don't have money", doctors should also not be left to suffer and cough up bills that patients should be responsible for (when there is no health insurance in place). No service is for free but my naija people will get emotional. How will a private hospital keep running if every patient rushed in 'with no money' is let go without paying their bills? God help us. |

On top of that the woman hated me as well. I did my it in lagos and stayed in the house. My dad was sending money to feed me, and you should have seen the stew, one part stew, three parts water. After a while I just stopped eating her food. Her grandkids were staying in the house and she started poisoning those ones minds against me. Was telling them I would beat them. They were still young and they told me. He daughter had five kids total. That one is another long story Ah...the woman sef sha. Yeah, I didn't mean you dad didn't try. ornicus: get married. your wife will probably put a stop to all this and be the bad guy.
i experinecd all of the same with my dad.
he is from a family of six - seven siblings. the first born a girl was held back to take care of everyone else when they went to school. so while everyone else became a professional, she was uneducated. she has always been very bitter about this and my dad poured serious money into the businesses of her and her kids. nothing came out of it. they were living in my dads house in festac and they completely let the house go to shit. there were blocked toilets full of shit in the house. long and short, her eldest daughter got pregnant [again] for some other loser and that was the last straw for my dad.
most of us are hard wired and will not change. if you pour 100 million, they will still remain the same. as it is now, you are the sucker they are exploiting. cut it off. I don't know why but the emboldened broke my heart. |

Ladies by nature are like babies, babies wanna keep everything to themselves and are stingy but do grow out of it at different times. This isn't enough reason to break up Mr man.
