Nino22: Exactly, everybody's sponsor must not be a relative. I get that. Buh those successful scenarios are few. I've been reading the thread. And I'm yet to see. Buh i really need to get first hand experience from someone with that kinda sponsorship. The processes the person underwent to ensure a successful application. I'm on a limited timeline and i can't afford to fail. Do i need to convince him to send the lump sum into my parents account? My mum owns a school, but her closing balance is not even up to 500k. Her transactions revolved around thousands. Not in millions. Do i need to make him pay the school fees of the school.?
Secondly, the school is University of Saskatchewan. Computer Science dept. The start date is September 1. But my acceptance letter is valid until January 2023. I spoke with the admissions officer of the school and she said i could register for either fall or winter term. If i register for winter term then i would start by January thereby allowing time for my study permit to be processed The successful ones did something differently than the unsuccessful ones |

Maybe that where i am getting it wrong. Help me pls Thank you @Thefil @Famousprince Have you ensured the file extension is PDF? Did you fill and sign the form with Acrobat Reader DC for Mac or Window? Can we troubleshoot together? |

Nino22: I secured my admission since December last year, applied for school scholarships around March. None forthcoming yet. I want to apply for the study permit now. And recent comments on this thread shows that it's best for sponsors to be closely related to whomever they are sponsoring. In my situation. My sponsor has a company in Canada. And he is capable of sponsoring me. I just don't want to make mistakes especially concerning the proof of funds aspect. I dunno if there is any other option or line of thought that I've not considered already to ensure positive responses from the VO With reference to the bolded in your comment above: it's the best way of proving relationship between an applicant and a sponsor; yes, it's incontestable: but in your case as you have explained the relationship between you and your sponsor; what happens if your sponsor is not closely related to you? Does it mean there is no way to establish and prove cordial relationship? Does it mean everybody's sponsor must be a relative? |

Famousprince: Can someone pls tell me how to go about undergraduate application process. All i have been reading here is about post-graduate only. Help me pls Whether post graduate or undergraduate, they both follow similar processes. 1. Secure admission. 2. Honour admission terms and conditions. 3. Apply for study permit. Each of the aforementioned processes has sub-processes. Embark on the journey first, as you encounter blockade, come here ask questions so as to manouver your ways. Alternatively, do yourself a favour by starting from part 1 of this thread and load yourself with information. |

Nino22: Please, i need advice on how to go about my visa application, especially concerning the proof of funds stuff.
My sponsor isn't related to me but is a huge close friend to my mum. And he is residing in Canada already. How do I go about the visa application so that i won't get rejected? Any legitimate person or entity can be your sponsor in as much as you can prove relationship and explain beyond reasonable doubts the reason for sponsorship. This lies in how strong and constructive your SOP and documentation is. Kindly refer to and read from part 1 of this thread in order to be loaded with the right information on how to apply for study permit: but let me summarize the process. Visa application is a straight forward process that requires transparency and thorough documentation and explanations. To begin, you must secure an admission and honour all the terms and conditions of the admission; after this, you can proceed to applying for study permit. After applying, you'll be asked to do biometric: you could wait to be asked to go for medical examination or do it upfront. After these processes, you must wait for a decision on your application. A decision can be given within days, weeks, months, a year or more depending on some factors and how complex your situation is. You will need to ask questions on each step as you progress. |

Ableman101: Ok thank you sir. First what does a panel clinic mean and secondly is it possible for someone who planned on a September intake program and who will just be starting processing next month. Can one still make it with the intake timing and all these medical stuff. Panel Clinics are clinics authorised by IRCC to carry out medical examination. I cannot say it's too late to target September intake because I have seen people who got visa decisions in less than 1 month: you could be one of them. My advice is apply as soon as possible. You can still make it; but if at all you are not able to make it, your visa application will still be ongoing while you defer your admission to the next intake which is January. Whichever way it results to, it's a win-win. |

Ableman101: Ok thank you sir. I have a little question bordering me. It’s that after I’m done with the medicals where will my result be sent to since I haven’t started my visa application yet as that might be up to next month before starting. Book a date close to the time you intend to submit your application. At times, getting a date might take a month, hence, it's wise to book in advance if you care to submit it with your application. For example, If I know I would submit my application on July 5 and I wished to submit my upfront medical examination with my visa application, I would fix an appointment around June 29. Panel Clinics do send medical exam result to IRCC within 3-10 working days. You don't also want to do medical exam upfront without getting to use it on time because it is valid for just a year. |

msbaileyz: Thank you for your response! So the plan is to fix the fund few days before submission and mature date would will be about 2-3 week before resumption … does that work?
Plus, a FD of 11m naira will suffice to acquire a study visa, right? You will have to explain the source of the money. If it has been in your account, why don't you just wait and submit your application before fixing it? Fixed deposit is not an escape route to avoid explanations for lump sums. Please I am not assuming this, but your action will likely lead to you explaining the source before fixing if it's not from cumulative credit entries. If you want ways to explain lump sums, you should ask directly so you can get direct answers. |

Can a recent fixed deposit be used as PoF?? Yes, if the maturity date is near and not after the program start date and that the FD certificate states that it will be disbursed into your account at maturity and it carries your name. |

sodmad: Hello nairalanders, I applied for my study permit visa and I was refused. I'm 18years of age, admitted at University of Alberta for the fall term 2022. Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds: • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status. You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements.
My sponsor was a board member of my high school who has promised to sponsor the overall best student to study in Canada. Documents submitted:- -Application form -Birth certificate -passport -LOE -Proof of funds by sponsor - N12m -Entrance Scholarship from school - $8000 CAD -Tuition deposit -$1000CAD -My certificate of excellence as the best student -WAEC certificate
I want to request for GCMS note.....
Pls. How can I address my refusal @MrFrank @everyone pls help me...... The first step to tackling this issue is to order for your GCMS notes. Without GCMS notes, let the school board disburse the fund into your account and back it up with sponsorship letter and certificate of excellence or award. This simple act will eliminate doubts of the VO: GCMS notes is still the best pointer though. |

Jenny255: Hi everyone, please I need your opinions as this has been bothering me for a few days now.
I noticed eligibility started on the application few days ago and below is the break down of large inflows that came into one of the submitted bank statement (p.s this wasn’t the only inflows in the account but they are the ones that’s 1m and above) Jan - 2m Feb - 1m Different dates in April had - 1m 3.5m, 1.5m, 1m
This doesn’t sum up the total balance left on this account as some of this was used for business purposes (p.s it’s a personal account)
My question is this: Is it advisable that I send a letter of explanation via webform for all the sums I listed above or this won’t be considered as lump sums?
Please I’ll appreciate everyone’s input, Gurus pls help out @makano @anon123 @justmellow @lekiboboe @showyoung If amounts of money of such volume have been entering and going out in the account before those dates, and it's a usual pattern, they are not considered as lump sums. But if this kind of transactions is not a usual kind, it's better you write a note now and explain. It's never too late |
