Ajaxa: Please I am new here. Help me with how to start. I have a degree in Business Administration fron unilorin with CGPA of 3.82/5. I will be going for MBA. Please explain to me how to start. What schools i need to apply to with or without IELTS or GRE. Schools that waive application fees and the documents i needed. I hope it will be the same like US because I have tried US twice and I did it by myself. Thanks. 08020767010. Your first step is securing admission for a program choice. You must research and deciding on choosing one. After securing an admission and you have honoured the terms and conditions in your admission letter, then you can proceed to applying for Study Visa. You may want to go read and study from Part 1 of this thread so you can be equiped with a load of information. Meanwhile, as you proceed, always ask questions here if you need to. |

Uzoamaka123: Pls what part on the Form A do we input the reference number?
There’s no column for that and flywire indicated it’s very important. If you are using Flywire for example, put your reference number in the box provided for beneficiary name as below: Beneficiary Name: Flywire Payment Corporation (Reference Number: xxxxxxxxxx) If you're using others: put your reference number anywhere beneficiary name is and ensure you put it in bracket and preceed it with the word "Reference number" as in: Beneficiary Name: Canadian International Bank of Commerce (Reference Number:xxxxxxxxxxx) |

Onaya: Dear Gurus in the house @Makano, Justmellow, Lekiboboe, Anon123, Ketima, ShowYoung et al.
Please, kindly advise me on how best to handle this dicey situation I've found myself in, so as to avoid any regrets resulting from it along the line. I have two ongoing study permit applications at the moment. In the first application, I mistakenly uploaded a document which I had reviewed for a friend who was applying for admission to a school in Canada. Immediately I noticed that mistake, I clicked on the button provided for change of documents in the application form and uploaded the intended documents—which I confirmed as having been uploaded thereafter. Then, I proceeded with the payment for my application fee. Surprisingly, it was the document I had uploaded in error that appeared in the summary of my submitted application, even though I had replaced it with the very one I had in mind prior to the final submission of my application. Following this incident, I raised a web form immediately to explain in detail what had happened, and also attached the appropriate document along with it.
However, I was very worried about the whole thing; so, I shared my ugly experience on this platform for guidance and some pieces of advice on how best to handle the situation. Someone here who felt my pain advised me to withdraw the affected application and submit a fresh one to avoid any story. Hence I sent in my withdrawal request via web form to IRCC immediately—that was in less than 24hrs of submitting the said application. Two days later, I got this acknowledgement email from IRCC regarding my withdrawal request: "A note has been added on file to notify the responsible office that you wish to withdraw your application. The office will determine if the application can be withdrawn and will issue a refund within 16 weeks of the withdrawal, if applicable."
I logged in to my account two days ago to find out that reviews on eligibility and medical results (the medicals I did last year, which expired on the 10th of May 2022) have commenced on the same application whose withdrawal request I had already submitted to IRCC. On waking up this morning, I checked my email and found out that I have a message waiting for me on my application portal regarding the same application. I quickly logged in to my account and saw a medical request from IRCC. Meanwhile, my second application is undergoing the review of my medical results at the moment because I had my upfront medical examinations last week. I am currently at a crossroads and also caught in the web of indecision!
Please, is it normal to see such review on eligibility and to receive a medical request on an application whose withdrawal request was submitted within 24hrs of applying for it? I would be very grateful if you could find some time to go through my message here and guide me properly.
Kindest regards. Study, Observation and Analysis.1. Why would you want to withdraw if all you had wanted was just a change of documents? 2. IRCC states that you shouldn't submit multiple application at a time. Why had you not waited for the first application to get withdrawn before sending a new one? 3. You should understand that there is a point an application gets to that makes it not possible to get withdrawn until a decision is made. RecommendationIgnore the first application that has a medical request and continue to bombard them with mails and through webform. Don't because of the medical request be hopeful. Perhaps it's a trap. Those guys know what they are doing. Ignoring them and bombarding them with emails and messages through webform will corroborate the fact that you wish to withdraw the application Focus on your normal application and wait for them to "pass" your medical exam. This may not be the best approach though. Await advice from other gurus. |

johnstan: Please how does one make a form A payment with an invoice that does not expire,
The invoice generated via any of the school's payment options all seem to have validity dates and if payments are not made within these dates the invoice becomes invalid. Asking because of the time it takes banks to actually make the payments. Most of the time, invoices do have expiry date but it doesn't mean it can't be extended or traced. You just have to ensure you don't generate one until you are ready to submit Form A so as to save more time. You don't want to worry about the expiry but ensure you follow the instructions therein and follow up with mails and customer service. If the reference is there, it can be traced. It's only when funds cannot be traced would they consider sending it back irrespective of the time span given. I have interacted with Flywire, for example, numerous times, they do give 14 days extension after the expiration and even, after the extension, the fund will still not be returned if you follow up and hold them tight. It all depends on communication. This does not mean there's no expiration. Don't toy with your money and time due to levity. |

starrez: Please what are the chances of someone in their 50’s with a HND for PGD in Canada? Your chances are the same as those of anyone under 30. Age is not a limiting factor. The relationships between your work experience, profession, reason of study and how well you link everything together among others are the things that determine the chances of visa approval. |

Olayinkaji: Wow wow. Thanks for the insight. Will it be advisable to look for a graduate certificate (1 Year) program with similar fees?? If you care aiming for PR, it doesn't mean 1 year PGD/PGD will not qualify you. 1 year PGD will qualify you for PR so also is 2 year program. I need to analyze it: Getting PR through CEC demands an applicant has a one year work experience in skill level A, B or C. If you graduate in a 2 year program, you will qualify for 2 - 3 years of Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), if you graduate from a 1 year program, you are qualified for 1 year of PGWP. THE FEAR The fear of many people is if you have 1 year PGWP and you don't get job on time, it may not be possible to have a work experience for 12 full calendar months. THE SOLUTION. Not only CEC which requires 1 year work experience is the only way to getting PR. Majority of people know about only CEC: hence making a myth that 1 year program cannot get you a PR. This is a blatant lieIf you know you don't have much to spend, you can go for 1 year program, you should target provinces where it's easy to get PR. In as much as you are ready to reside anywhere, you'll easily get your PR. 1. Target Atlantic provinces, for example, in New Brunswick, you can get a PNP before graduation, if you put this PNP into Express Entry, you'll gain 600 additional point which will qualify you for direct invitation to apply for PR. New Brunswick promises to give you work permit while this process is on-going. 2. AIP is also there for people with 1 year master's degree. 3. RNIP is there. 4. The worst case scenario, 1+1 strategy is there. 5. CEC is also there. People have used 1 year course for CEC. I will advise people to refrain from sharing fake, unconfirmed and diluted information that may jeopardize the future decision of people. |

Now, the issue is the school doesn't give PGWP. The tuition fee is very affordable too. I have searched and searched and it's the best i have found.
I really want to JAPA for good. What's your advice? If becoming a PR is your priority, you don't want to enroll in this school: but if PR doesn't matter to you through schooling, perhaps you have another means, you may want to consider the school. |

Predator188: The applicant won't have sufficient funds even if he has 30 billion USD in bank balance! This is not true or let me say it's an exaggeration. In that case file, the judge and the Respondent claimed if the Appellant had shown $136,000 or so and was able to prove that the sponsor had no responsibility over anyone else, the Appellant would have won the case. Also, with the $46,000 or so that the Appellant showed, IRCC could have shown "mercy" if he had successfully convinced the VO that the fund would be available and more funds would be provided as time goes on and the sponsor had no responsibility over siblings. The Respondent claimed the onus was on the Appellant to prove the stated points which he failed to do. Sorry for my wording which I term "mercy". I actually meant that IRCC could have used their discretion to justify that more monies would be available maybe due to the sponsor job or ability to generate more fund. |

1. I have a brother that we bear same surname together, can he stand as my sponsor. That is I can use his account statement instead of looking for money up and down...
2. Also if I got the school paid through financing, did I still need to worried about the certain amount in the account or was their any advantage for those that already paid for school fees before applying for visa.
Thank you in advance 1. If he is willing to sponsor you, he can be a sponsor provided you are able to prove this. The onus is on you to prove. 2. If the school doesn't ask for tuition deposit or payment, it is not necessary. Nigerians are always scared hence they panic and think that the payment will go a long way when it's not even needed. Although, some case scenarios warrant payment of tuition deposit or full tuition fee to corroborate some claims and tackle some tricky situations. Professionals and experienced ones know when to do this. |

Thank you You'll need to book an appointment with either QLife or IOM (Lagos or Abuja). On the scheduled date, you may wait for 2 - 5 hours to complete the medical examination. After the medical exam, the panel clinic will upload your medical exam to IRCC after 3 - 10 days. It may take IRCC 1 - 6 weeks or more to update your profile. Only QLife and IOM are the recommended panel clinics by the IRCC |

Though the school I applied for has exempted the provision of English language since my first degree was taught in English.. do I need ielts for student visa again? You don't need IELTS to apply since NSE isn't being given priority. IRCC doesn't ask for it anymore. |

Really, nowadays, NSE route doesn't count and IRCC doesn't even ask for it anymore. You don't necessarily need Police Character Certificate to apply for Study Visa, but if you have it, you can add it among your documents. For medical examination, you can do upfront medical examination so as to submit with your application: although it is not necessary until requested, if you do it upfront, it can speed up your visa application process |

Kurukuru: My people if you want to apply for a study permit, be ready to provide funds for your entire stay NOT THE ONE YEAR that is on their website o The below new jurisprudence is an ambush many VOs will be using now. https://www.canlii.org/en/ca/fct/doc/2022/2022fc728/2022fc728.html?autocompleteStr=2022%20FC%20728%20&autocompletePos=1 Thank you @Kurukuru: I want to add my observation Nigerians have always misinterpreted the minimum proof of funds requirements on IRCC website. We only focus on primary information and do fail to read further. Although it is written that minimum one year cost must be shown, we do sometimes fail to understand the word "minimum". Although in this case, it was concluded that the Appellant would have had to show he had around $136,000 or so: on further analysis, I found out that IRCC was even ready to be linient, the Respondent (IRCC) gave the Appellant a reason for considering the minimum amount of proof of funds, they provided that the Appellant would have had to convince the visa officer that his father had no other responsibility on any one else except him."Minimum" can only be considered if the Appellant, in this case, had proven that his father did not have any other responsibility aside him," the Respondent cited that the Appellant failed to make IRCC understand that his sponsor had no other responsibility on siblings and that IRCC doesn't need to ask for explanation. This means that if you have been showing proof of funds for just one, two or three years out of the four years required and your visa applications have always been approved, you have only always been lucky because the VOs have been showing "mercy" according to the case cited above, you are supposed to show for the entire duration of study and your sponsor must convincingly demonstrate that the fund will be available for only you. MAY THE MERCY OF THE LORD SPEAK FOR US ALL IN JESUS NAME, AMEN! |

SulaimonBimbola: Pls which school is the best to apply for business related course in Canada for a 1 year masters degree with tuition fees of 2m-3m NGN 3 million is equal to around $9,000 at official rate. You may be able to get a 1-year master's degree for that amount of money but it may be rare to find and highly competitive if at all you are able to find one. For a 2-year master's degree, U of Sask tuition is around $9,000 and $11,000 per year. It is easier to get 2-year master's for that price or slightly higher. There are many other universities offering at this price range. Another thing I want to point your attention to is whether you have determined your chances of getting accepted into master's degree program are high. |
