all i can tell you is that the days of the Patriarchy are numbered.
Feminism hits Patriarchy at its most sensitive part.the power of the Patriarchy is in its keeping women poor which in turn forces women to depend on men for bread by agreeing to marriage which works for men as a constant assured source of sex. make women financially independent and you have hit the Patriarchy at its foundation.the Patriarchy has given so much to humanity but its not a perfect system.
is Feminism better? not really. but the Matriarchy as demonstrated in nature is an interesting system that i find myself studying more and more.

exactly a woman being independent is what we need first to degrade patriarchy!! Feminism is not 4 every one!! Feminism means ur ready to fight to it, n represent it!!! I know alot of ladies that dont belive in feminism but respect it!!! I know how many ladies i hv finacially helped to start little bizneses, this does not mean u cant collect from ur husband or man but dont be dependent on him!! Hv something doing!! I hate the ideology that implys if a woman earns more than man, a man should still take full responsibility of the bills!! Like he is a finacial slave!!! No even if he doesnt ask!!! Take participation in the bills!!

My friend married an average guy so they both contributed to their wedding after discussing that if the get some money from the weding they will share it n give her part of it!!! to say men have kept women oppressed educationally is not accurate.
coz today in the US more women than men are going to college but still intelligence-wise they still cant compete.women are all rushing to soft careers like gender studies, nursing and child care. while the few men who enrole enter the hard STEM careers, that is, Science Engineering Mathematics etc.the careers that are harder to muster and take longer to qualify more and eventually pay more.
the funny thing is women got college preferences and took up Service Industry careers---the same careers being replaced by automation.bringing women back to square zero.and driving feminists mad with anger and seeking desperately who to blame. you may have heard Amazon and other retailers are starting to build unmanned shops where people deal with computers.and all those till jobs that women had happily dominated are evaporizing infront of their eyes.

After reading although from the first page, I now have a clear view what this feminist movement is all about, the argument among the ladies has been insightful.

With that said - who ever that initiated this feminist thing or movement must have had a bad childhood or must have been a product of a broken home.

"if it's not broken don't try to fix it"

These comes to mind when I say this. There is no place for feminism in happy and organized home, every one knows their place. A happy and loving husband can't treat his wife like an object or with disrespect, a happy husband will not hold back his wife from doing what makes her happy.

Same goes for the wife, a wife that love and respects her husband, she won't give the husband any room to think there is competition among both of them (I guess that's what gave birth to this feminist movement), a loving wife puts her family first, same goes for the husband.

How many of you ladies that are advocating for feminism witnessed it playing out in your various homes while growing up with your parents (am asking those that were lucky enough to be a part of a happy family).

You ladies can practice this feminist thing in your leisure period of life, but if you want to take up during the serious part of your life that is - marriage / family,
Then it's over before it even started.

All I can say is this feminist thing won't run very far, cos it has no foundation.

Men are taught their place right from a very young age, they are taught to accept responsibility by nature.

But you ladies take up feminism when you turn 20 and above, your grievances is understood. Bad men made you think it's time you stood up for your self. But you can't stand up against nature.

If you want to take this feminist thing seriously you guys will have to reinvent the school curriculum, and traditional values.

Don't get me started with the biological aspect of this .....

And she's right @Chuka66 and @kimbra which is why I always say feminism would be extremely difficult in Africa, most Africa or more specifically Nigeria women cannot be true feminist , there are some many things that favours Nigeria women here because of the Patriarchy ranging from bride price, the male being the provider, paying for dates and etc , However as we've advance as a society we've realized that some of those things are not attainable due to economical reasons, the idea of groom price would never work, its just not us which is where the test of feminism shows, a lot of Nigerian women value marriage and the glamour around it more than anything than to be the one to be radical enough to support feminism all the way, who wants to be ridiculed all for what, its easier to just deny feminism after all. Not like we are in a situation where women have to be in the kitchen , and all. 2nd wave feminism have already paved the way for that, so need and yea OP is right a lot of women are enjoying on the successes of past feminist. I don't believe in the groom price because frankly its too radical and I don't any man would even agree to it, we are deeply rooted to toxic masculinity , however a better one would be the eradication of bride price, but then again bride price depending of where you're marrying from is not even that expensive its the wedding preparation that's the wahala so really what's the point.
