Hello Lianna2020,

As per the travel instructions issued by the GoC as a measure to slow down COVID-19 states that, a person traveling to Canada must be planning to stay and not leave otherwise, re-entry is not guaranteed.

The GoC has advised its citizens not to travel and the same goes for travelers intending to come to Canada for discretionary purposes.

In my opinion, take the foundational-level courses online from abroad while you prepare ahead for the planned resumption.

Best of Luck
I need clarification regarding this, what if the re-entry won't be anytime close to the date of departure from Canada? Like after a semester, one returns to Canada.

I'm sorry for the delay man. You're still on the right track. I'm sure whatever concern raised will easily be addressed. All the best.

Hi Everyone,

My application was also refused based on personal assets and financial status. Tbh, my application was quite shoddy (Submitted very basic documents).It was months after applying I got to know of Nairaland and sincerely I commend everyone's effort for the input ( The info put out here is amazing). I have learnt a lot which will be applied in my next application.
I am self sponsored. I submitted my usd dollar account with lump payments in 2 tranches without any explanation.

I didn't also attach my salary account since there was no fund it which I realised I should have done now and not enough evidence i was gainfully employed. I just submitted basic documents(mbs, b.sc cert, transcripts,c.v and previous visas to various countries; realising based on this thread that won't influence the decision)
Although I tried salvaging my application after already 5 weeks off showing eligibility required by sending a webform with a more detailed LOE and additional documents. Thanks to Shupy for responding to my enquiries.

I got my refusal letter 2 weeks later. I have ordered for my gcms notes, trying to wait patiently for it. My admission was for fall 2021 but will have to defer till January 2022.
P.s I submitted in March, NSE route.

It's like we would have to be doing "to whom it may concern" everyday o. I emphasized on this issue not too long ago.

Immigration lawyer is your only chance. It shouldn't have happened in the first instance, and when it did, you should have taken the situation into your own hands. Hopefully you get a good lawyer. All the best.

Hello everyone. So I’m the guy that applied from
China but couldn’t pay for the visa application fee because I don’t have a Nigerian card with me, I had to give money to an agent in Nigeria to pay for the visa application fee. Then later I got an email saying there was a charge back on the fee and the agent quickly gave me another receipt and said sorry without explaining what happened. Then 3 weeks later I got a Refusal email with 5 year ban. I was worried and I requested for my notes. And it turned out that this same person canceled the payment again. Hence the denial and ban.

Please my brothers and sisters.
How do I lift off this ban?
Below is my notes !!

Please help

Pls how long does the Form A take?
What if I register for a domiciliary account ? and get some dollars in, will that work?
also what if my sister in Uk help with the payment ? would the exchange rate be much considering the conversion of naira to pounds
Thanks a lot for your reply
Timeframe for FORM A is within 3 days to a month. It's just not reliable method when one is trying to meet a short deadline. Reach out to your sister. She should even be able to use her card.

Hello Bosses , Big respect for the amazing jobs everyone is doing on here . Fanshawe asked me to make a completion of my tuition fee before June 15 to book my sit for September. How is the best way I can pay that here in 9ja? It will end in praise
It's hard to meetup with the deadline using FORM A. This information should have been included in the offer letter. Except you have a well funded domiciliary account with card, your only choice might be the virtual card of the barter app. The exchange rate is on the high side.

Sincerely I believe this Canada student visa stuff is by Luck and God. I have a BSC already but I applied for a post secondary diploma program not even a post graduate. I didn’t even explain too much on my LOE....God just helped me
You're actually the one I was referring to in my post. The approval rate of Nigerian applicant as at 2019 was 44%. If there was another data showing the approval rate of those applying for a program below a degree they already hold, I'm very certain it would be way below 10%. You just happen to be among those 10%.

Just because some people and very few in numbers were able to get study permit in a difficult circumstance such as going for a program that's of a lower academic level or applying with ones family, don't mean that's the way to go. With every 1 applicant that gets approval in such similar situation, hundreds more are denied. One could submit a perfect application with a flawless SOP and still be denied on grounds that there's no academic progression. Most VOs will look for the slightest reason to deny one an approval, and with a Nigerian passport, the odds are already against us.
I must also add that in this forum, we have seen an applicant get study permit without providing any bank statement or GIC certificate. It was a sponsorship letter from his workplace he provided as proof. That doesn't mean it's advisable to do what he did. Disapproving something or saying something is a red flag doesn't mean one is being mean. We're just being realistic. My application was rejected for going for a program of a lower academic level despite providing a flawless explanation, tho it was Australia, the same rule applies to Canada. I don't care if 1 or 2 applicants have been able to get approval in such situation. The fact is, it is not advisable to do certain things.
@Oreoluwamipo I'm sorry things got out hands. I was going to this earlier but you beat me to it. You are the bigger person.

Please I need advice from experts.
My foundation class starts July 5 online.
Is it advisable to go to Canada this June .
I don’t intend to stay more that two weeks .
I just want to get my permit and come back to continue online .
Hope there won’t be any problem .
Your prompt response would be highly appreciated
I don't see any reason for concern. Perhaps you should also reach out to your school. I don't see any issue with your plan.

Just to confirm, GIC is accepted for NSE right?
Nope. There's a very high chance you will still be requested to provide MyBankStatement. I mean it's accepted but it's not a replacement for bank statement.

With your help I submitted my application but I have a pressing matter which I’ll need your kind input. I’m currently not in the country and not sure I’ll be back if PPR drops, please how should I go about addressing this, can I get my passport stamped here in the US or can I send it via DHL back to Nigeria? Should I inform CIC of this development or wait till I get PPR?
Reach out to VFS for guidance.

Good day everyone,

I applied for a study visa with my husband as sponsor, do I need to submit my own bank statement? My closing balance is at 250k, I feel is quite small even if the cash inflow is consistent due to allowances and a small farm investment returns.

Does he need to pay the school fees since the school offers full refund?

Please help
Thank you for your time
You already applied. I don't think it's going to improve your application. In some rare cases, VO will request for salary account statement to validate employment status.

You are not using the quote feature properly. I almost didn't see your question. Yes, the general IELTS exam is acceptable for visa application. However, in the unlikely situation a Canadian institute requires it, the school might insist on the academic type.

Hello Everyone and Gurus in the house,

Please I need help with some questions - response from anyone will be greatly appreciated.

1. What are the requirement needed to apply for study permit for my children (Ages 4,10 & 13)

2. What documents are needed?

3. How will their SOP look like? (Will be grateful to receive samples SOP from anyone)

4. Will they be required to carry out biometrics?

Please I will really appreciate a response

Thanks in advance.
You are applying for your children to join you. I don't think it's called study permit. There are very few people on this thread that can provide proper guidance when it comes to family application, @Frankrobbn1 is the only one I can think of. Those that have been able to successfully apply for their children, understandably won't have time for nairaland after awhile. If you've seen such success stories, you might need to send PM to the poster. There's one particular lady but I can't remember her moniker. She's no longer active like she used to.

Mohawk College gave me admission and I pay deposit tuition which is 2,200 to accept the admission and they told me to go apply for my study permit with my conditional letter of acceptance which I did I just received a email from them that I have a deadline of June 15th to pay balance 6680cad for my tuition fee if not I will lose my sit what advice do you give me now my plans was to pay the balance once I gets my visa,please I need your advice urgently
The deadline should have been included in the conditional letter. There's nothing you can do other than to pay. You might have the option of deferring your admission.

No problem. Don't ever hesitate to make an enquiry.
Still reach out to the bank. If they insist on the passport requirement, then use the barter app.

I submitted my application on the 1st of may and did my biometrics on the 10th of may. Three days later (13th), I got a message that I qualify for the NSE program, so I have to submit an ielts exam and my proof of funds. Went on doing the ielts exam but I didn’t pattern it up as I got band 5.5 in writing while I did the other very well. So my question is should I submit my ielts result with the POF along with a back up letter of some sort of reasons hoping I’ll get it? Cos the due date is 13th of this month!
I already answered your question. Is the statement below not clear? I told you what I would do in your situation. I have edited it a bit.

"Some people have been able to secure their study permit with low IELTS score, but I personally wouldn't take the risk. Submit MyBankStatement and write a letter of explanation stating you're unable to submit IELTS result because the earliest available date to sit for an exam is way beyond the deadline"

And if you decide to submit the IELTS result like that, I see no reason for a letter.

They have account with various banks including heritage bank and the initial deposit is $4000 .... Can I use flutter wave Barter
You should consider using heritage bank. They should be faster than most commercial banks. Avoid using the popular ones in this situation. I heard Sterling bank is fast. You can use the barter app; however, a FORM A is going to cost less. This what you're going to do, fill the FORM A by Monday to pay your first semester tution fee. If by 16th of June, after 4 PM, the bank is yet to initiate payment, use the barter app to make payment for just the initial deposit.
To use FORM A some documents will be required.

* Payment instruction
* Offer letter
* University Certificate
* NYSC Certificate
* Passport
I think that's all.

NB: If I'm forgetting anything, please y'all should include it.
