No body is saying is not possible.

But he is a matured applicant at least he should have some funds of his own.

Because it worked for you does not mean it will for every other person.

Thank you very much for this follow-up. Everyone else dismissed the advice given to the OP. It's a difficult circumstance and they were all saying there's no reason to be concerned. Nothing is impossible but a false hope in the name of being positive is dangerous especially when the red flags can be addressed.
I have come to realise people would rather listen to those that give them high expectations than those that are realistic. I'm going to start keeping my opinion to myself. Nairaland doesn't show the true reality of application refusal rate. It's easy to give an update about PPR, it takes a lot to write about application refusal. Only a very few are able to do so and it's important we learn from their experience.

Good afternoon House,
I want to apply for study permit using my elder brother as my sponsor. He is 45years and 1am 40years. I have a BSc in Accounting (3.70/5) with over 8years banking experience. I was offered admission in Financial Planning (PGD)for Jan 2022.
I was shocked when someone told me that it will be difficult to get a study permit if I use my brother to serve as my sponsor. My elder brother is a business man.

Please I will appreciate if I can be properly guided so I would be sure I'm in the right direction both for the course and sponsorship.

Thank you.

Hello sir, the person is not entirely wrong. Your brother sponsoring you raises serious question about your own level of establishment i.e 40 years old applicant. My advice, if your brother genuinely wants to sponsor you, he should pay 2 years tution fee, there's also an arrangement call GIC which is meant to address living expenses, you can do about 15k. That way you won't have to mention your brother as the sponsor. Just submit the tuition fee receipt, GIC certificate and your account statement.

Hello good day everyone. Im new here. I’m perplexed and I don’t know what to do. When I was about starting my application, I researched for the ircc site. I got the site and read up on it. It indicated that I had to complete my registration by May 15th to get a decision by August 6th. I continued scrolling and I saw a link “to start application” ie to start my study permit application. Ircc indicated that that’s the new way of applying, that they had modified their site. I clicked on it and that’s how my application was started. I successfully submitted my application on May 14th.
Now the problem is that I can’t log in to the portal (same link I started with) I have tried severally but I can’t log in. Note that it’s not an issue of forgotten password or email cry
I really don’t know what to do.
This is the link https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signin?lang=en

Please am I the only one in this dilemma? I’m very scared rn
What exactly is the error message you're getting? IRCC site is very problematic. You might try it later and it would work.

One of the Gurus in the house adviced I throw this open to the house.
I have about 6 million in the account at this moment, because I also invested in crypto and all.
Now I got this letter, should I fund my account to get this funds to 10-12 million or will it be seen as a lump sum. I have within the past three months and counting good or fair score as regards inflow and out flow. Or I should just submit the account this thus. I do not have a sponsor to back this up and I guess IRCC wants me to bring my personal account. Someone adviced that I have up to 30000cad equivalent in the account. Or I can send some funds to my account and tag it "Canada Study funds". I have been denied once and this time I have to be careful and saliently answer the rest of them demands properly.

Please friend help treat as urgent.

If you have had this letter before, what did you do afterwards. I wish to send this account tomorrow.

Thanks
If you've not paid your tuition fee, go and pay at least 75% of it, submit the receipt, along with the mbs certificate. Do not transfer the fund for your tution into the account you intend to submit. Just find a way to pay.

Please is 2MILLION a lumpsum for an account that transact like 800,000 to a million in and out in a month?
If there's a regular deposit of 1m, it wouldn't be considered a lump.

Please I have a question.

I don’t have a waec result. My neco result is available and I have a B.Sc. The school I applied to in Canada (Toronto school of management has offered me admission with just my neco result. Do I have to submit a waec result to the embassy for my application or will my neco result suffice.

Please I need to know before I pay the tuition deposit and apply for my visa.
Just submit your bsc certificate and transcript if you have it. Your waec don't matter if you're not going for an undergraduate program.

I already applied, but my eligibility review has not started yet, With the different things I have read here concerning home ties, Can I still go ahead and upload my landed properties documents ? (I have a house and I just got another land), if yes, what are the documents to upload?
Or is it too late to upload the documents ?
Yes, you can. Just attach a short LOE with the documents and upload using the webform.

Good morning everyone,
Please I was recently refused based on personal assets and financial status. In my application I didn’t state any assets because I felt my dad statement was good enough(60k cad+),so please in my next application, how should I tackle this issue, because I don’t have any property in my name atm. Thank you
"Personal assets and financial status" is very broad and generic, just wait until you get your GCMS note. I don't know why the Canadian authorities don't include remarks in the actual refusal letter.

Read a lot on this thread and I'm shocked. I never knew the whole process was this tough.
I'm 23, Looking to pursue a master's degree in canada but from all I've read here,I think my chances are slim so I'd opt for a pgd instead..Graduated with a 3.9/5 cgpa in accounting in 2019. Job experience is not that convincing. I worked for 5 months as an intern in a bank for my siwes program,I don't know if that counts. Then after nysc, which was marred by covid, I worked in a business firm for 4 months. I left the business firm for a job with a higher pay grade but unrelated to my field of study , 4 months into that job as well...Do I have a shot at studying in Canada atm Or I will be chasing my own tail?
I say you have a very good chance. A good SOP will tackle this concerns.

Hello all.
Been a silent reader/observer. You all are doing a good job here, especially the gurus. The info I have received from this platform is priceless.
Kudos!

Kindly see my attached timeline.
I ignored the NSE request because my sponsors are UK citizens (UK Bank Statements).

Going by their NSE policy, my app’s timeline officially commenced from 5th April.

On 7th June I sent an urgent email to Lagos/Nairobi/London offices to know the status of my application. The mail was acknowledged but no other response till now.

Should I apply for my notes?
You can but I don't think you'd see any beneficial info. Most April applications are yet to be finalized, NSE or no NSE.

Are you considering another destination? You've waited 3 months already, why don't you go all the way. You'd be surprised a decision might be made even before July. Send a webform if you must. I don't think withdrawing is the right move.

Hello everyone. I really want to thank you all for the invaluable information and advice given on this thread. I'd like to ask some questions.

I plan on go for a Master's degree in Electrical engineering.

i) I'd like to know if cash of about 12 million is enough financially
ii) I already work but my job doesn't pay me much do I'd like to know if uploading my pay slips in absolutely necessary
iii) Would paying for a year's fees be okay or I have to pay more upfront for a 2 year program
iv) Would a study leave be strong enough to cover for ties?
i. Do the the calculation 1 year tution fee + 13k cad. In most situations, it's enough if you're not self sponsored. If you're self sponsored you'll need to have and show enough fund to cover the entire duration of your 2 years stay.
ii. I wouldn't include it. They might ask for it tho, and you have to include appointment letter/ promotion letter which is probably going to include your salary info.
iii. A year fee is perfectly ok. Most people pay for just 1 semester.
IV. Study leave is a good additional document. There are so many factors that's looked at when it comes to ties.

How was the payment made?. Did you create the IRCC account yourself? What's your agent saying?
Handle this with caution.

That's the letter of scholarship right and reference letter?
First semester has already been paid.
For my account, the company will conver that and for my other fees and financial prove, it will be the company's account.
Letter of employment, Id card is okay as prove?

But hope my question or reason sounds genuine, cos have established the 'Relationship Fact' that have been working there for years and the company is willing to sponsor me under the condition and privilege of the scholarship given to me by the Chairman.
Hm?
Yes, I think you have everything covered. Someone mentioned payment arrangement. It must be stated in the letter. All the best

Hello everyone!
Greetings

**Urgent, advise as sure and experienced**

Please, what are my chances of convincing the VO of my study, being sponsored by the company where i currently work.
This sponsorhip is under the condition/privilege of a scholarship being granted to me by the company as the Chairman is into empowerment programs in helping people, the needy in my state... And he has decided in the name of the company to give out a scholarship of study abroad to one of his skilled and educated staffs, in which i happened to be the one.
Please how convincing and genuine will this be, with the prove of the scholarship letter and the necessary documents...?
I have been working there since 2011.

And what are the documents i need to upload?

Thank you!
A letter will from the company. A year tuition fee deposit and a substantial amount in your account to cover living expenses. Another essential document is appointment/promotion letter.

3. Pls I need a sample on how to write a consent letter from my mum, stating she will care for my kids while am away studying in Canada.

Gurus pls answer.
1. Step 2 requires you to click on one of the addresses. Those addresses are clickable. You select your choice, at the bottom click on continue.

2. If you don't have a student copy of your transcript, just submit your certificate.

3. I don't know. Find a template online or something.

VOs are humans like us, capable of making wrong decisions. That's why there's a judicial review but it's a long process. No one has time for that nonsense but some people do get the decision overturned.
Not too long ago, someone here was wrongly accused of payment chargeback. Some people have reapplied with just the inclusion of 1 additional document such as affidavit of support. A Jamaican youtuber reapplied with the inclusion of police certificate. These people shouldn't have been denied in the first place. All in all, one has to hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

please Gurus I have a question. My company does not pay salaries directly from the company account. they transfer the money to my finance coordinator account who then transfers it to my account. but he pays it cash to my account. as in cash payment. will this affect my application ? as it will show on my statement, cash payment.
As long as it's regular, I wouldn't be worried. Don't emphasize on this on your SOP. Your proof of employment could be appointment/promotion letter.

Please rejoice ooo, because it is not easy.

I got a refusal though, for home ties both in Canada and Nigeria. Apparently, my ties in Canada are way more than those in Nigeria. I will order GCMS note. I may reapply or opt for the US. But US is priority right now.

I wish you all a delightful outcome in your applications. We learn every day, and some experiences are worthwhile, even though they are a bit sad. But we move!

I applied on March 11 by the way.

March folks will be getting decisions. Stay blessed.

Hello Lianna2020,

As per the travel instructions issued by the GoC as a measure to slow down COVID-19 states that, a person traveling to Canada must be planning to stay and not leave otherwise, re-entry is not guaranteed.

The GoC has advised its citizens not to travel and the same goes for travelers intending to come to Canada for discretionary purposes.

In my opinion, take the foundational-level courses online from abroad while you prepare ahead for the planned resumption.

Best of Luck
I need clarification regarding this, what if the re-entry won't be anytime close to the date of departure from Canada? Like after a semester, one returns to Canada.
