the most sensible post you've made so far. Yeh, Yeh, only when I write negative about OBJ. For those of you still dancing Atiku's samba, remind him that AC has until 12 midnight to submit a replacement, failure to will Ask INEC, I DON'T KNOW!!! I repeat, I am not here for any politician, but to support the efforts of EFCC. If Atiku had been supporting EFCC's work, I would have been sympathizing with him. But since his is not I H-A-T-E him. He is a bastard. Obi is supporting EFCC hence I have no qualms with him. Tell Atiku to jump the mountain and crush to death, I don't give a DAMN what OBJ does to him. Let him suck my A**S |

When you're bitten by a snake, you are given a vaccine, that vaccine is made from snake poison. Snake poison is injected into a sheep that is naturally immune to the snake poison and aftwards the vaccine is derived from the sheep. Pardon me, I can't explain it professionally as I am not a doctor. OBJ is corrupt, no doubt about it. He has set up the machinery to clean up corruption because he understands how it works. Now his term is almost over, let us pause for a moment and forget about him. Our main focus should not be OBJ, ATIKU or any other rogue but on the bright work Ribadu is doing. OBJ is the snake poision and Ribadu is the vaccine. |

ugodaniel Good constructive posting My stand is simple, rid Nigeria of corruption. Like many of our country men, I left Nigeria to Europe and having lived here for many years, I can see how things work. Many countries in Europe don't have the natural resources Nigeria is blessed with, yet their politicians do a lot for their people, providing good roads, schools, hospitals, public libraries, social services, better wages, employment, child and parental benefits, tourism, public services, technology, waste disposals, etc. The only positive news we get from Nigeria is 419 and corruption. Those of us here are subjected to abuse, insults, discrimination etc. If you are a Nigerian businessman in Europe and seek a partnership with an European businessman, the first thing he will ask you is if it is a 419 deal. It makes your stomach sink. Those of you in Nigeria are part of the system and some simply don't grasp effects corruption has had in the country and certainly don't know what EFCC is for. Many see the war against corruption as OBJ's agenda against his opponents. The truth is that while the world is rotating clockwise, Nigeria is rotating anticlockwise. Internet and Mobile phones was not available in Nigeria until quite recently. While the world was having a taste of these new technologies, Nigerians were denied it's introduction due to reasons I can not understand. I first used mobile phone in UK in 1991, and Nigerians got hold of it after the millennium. When OBJ made a visit to UK, the Nigerian community told him that it is time he allowed foreign telecommunication firms to introduce mobile phones in Nigeria, hence the current boom in mobile phones. It is also during one of the many trips OBJ made abroad that the world leaders confronted him with the rising cases of 419. The world leaders told him to find a solution to it hence the creation of EFCC and war against corruption. USA, EU and other world leaders are very proud of him for taking the bold step to weed out 419, cyber crime and state corruption. Nigerian politicians being what they are, always play dirty politics and are good at cover ups but they fail to understand that those who are behind the war against corruption are not Ribadu or OBJ but the world community. The world have got tired of 419 and the best way to get rid of it is to get to the root of the causes which includes the politicians. The young Nigerians that got involved in cyber crime and 419 did it because the rich Nigerian politicians were squandering state funds and the best way for them to survive was to use the Internet to get a taste of the action. And who will blame them. If your life has not been touched by corruption in terms of unemployment, bad roads, poor amenities, lack of water, constant electricity interuptions, polluted environment etc, then you are probably a family member of one of the corrupt politicians who are responsible for providing better services for the populace. Since, I arrived in Europe 20 years ago, I have never experienced power cut, yet every day I make a call to friends and family in Nigeria, I am told power is out. Is Nigerian's time turning clockwise or anticlockwise? Tell me! |

Afam, I am not surprised. I put the blame of the Internet. A place where people hide under aliases and insult others just for the thrill. Even if the moderator read your post and take appropriate action, you will probably sign up again with a new name and continue your acts. You are here to satisfy a burning ego, and that is to insult as many people as possible. Stupidly, you are insulting nobody than the screen names like mine. You don't know me and will NEVER. So continue and lets see if that will improve or increase your status and ego. |

Why is it that when we talk about Atiku people tend to start spitting fire at OBJ. I have said this many times, OBJ can go to HELL with Atiku. OBJ's time is over hence defending OBJ is pure fruitless. Atiku represents the wheel that rotates corruption in Nigeria and unless he is dealt with severely in terms of removing his immunity and prosecution in court, Nigeria's war against corruption won't be won. This is the stand of those who strongly object to Atiku's candidature. Got it? |

I-G-N-O-R-A-N-C-E Can those of you asking for a proof of his crime really get it? How can EFCC prove Atiku's crime under his immunity? Of course, there are substantial evidence against him but he can only be prosecuted when his immunity expires. Atiku is playing time, and desperately needs to use the immunity to shield himself away from any prosecutions but what he does not know is that Ribadu is not in a hurry. He would get him. The country is impatient because we don't know all the crimes yet and we are not sure if he should contest. It is the anxiety that makes us worry but Ribadu has to keep all the facts secret as that is the essence of justice. Publicizing his crime and revealing the facts without a court hearing will be illegal and may give Atiku more time to prepare his defense, so I support EFCC to keep the evidence top secret. Ask yourself: Why do Atiku need the VP position few days to the end of his tenure if he does not support the PDP, OBJ and the Presidency. In civilized countries, such a VP will resign. You will agree with me that Atiku desperately need the immunity to avoid prosecution. He is probably praying that a COUP will occur or Ribadu will be assassinated before the election. I can assure him that none of this will happen and if it does, any Military junta who takes over the affairs of the nation will assassinate all the corrupt politicians like Rawlings of Ghana did - purged Ghana of corrupt politicians that paved way for the country's progress and development today. Watch out. |

Politics / Nigerian Judiciary: The Most Corrupt Institution In Nigeria by shutmouth(m): 1:50pm On Feb 20, 2007 |
The Judges and courts in Nigeria are the worst offenders when it comes to corruption, bribery and impartiality. Criminal politicians are aware of the flaws in the court and take advantage of it. The EFCC has not yet started investigating our Judges and the court. This election period is not the appropriate time to investigate the Judges and the courts as it will be regarded internationally as an attempt by the FG to interfere in the Judiciary. Ribadu will take on the Judges at the appropriate time after the elections. I have no iota of trust in Nigerian Judiciary as they are probably the most corrupt institution in Nigeria. |

I will shoot myself in the head if Atiku ever makes it through INEC tonight. Wait for the breaking news 12 noon. Atiku is a criminal who knows the flaws in the court and takes advantage of it. Remember, the EFCC has not yet started investigating our Judges and the court. This is not the appropriate time to investigate the Judges and the courts as it will be regarded internationally as an attempt by the FG to interfere in the Judiciary. Ribadu will take on the Judges at the appropriate time after the elections. You know the Judges in Nigeria are the worst offenders when it comes to bribery and impartiality. Anyway, we will keep you posted on the INEC deadline tonight. |

Yes, the court verdict only sustains his immunity from prosecution. People must understand that the court verdict was mainly to clarify if President has the right to sack the VP. The case was in court prior to the indictment and disqualification. The indictment is a completely different issue at hand. Atiku remains indicted and legally disqualified from contesting the election. To exonerate himself from the indictment, he may seek redress from the court and unfortunately that may take days, months or years and the elections cannot wait. Today Feb 20 is the last day for all parties to replace indicted candidates and it is unlikely for Atiku to clear his name in the court. He is a dubious man that uses the constitution and laws indiscriminately to buttress and hide his crimes and time will tell. |

Politics / Atiku Underestimated OBJ At His Own Peril by shutmouth(m): 3:15am On Feb 20, 2007 |
OBJ had known for a while that Atiku was one of the most corrupt entities known to mankind. Atiku had stolen so much money and bought so many PDP party members that OBJ would never have lasted six months had he frontally taken on Atiku before now. During their first term, Atiku controlled all the PDP governors. If you wanted anything in Nigeria, you spoke to Atiku or one of his aides. He was busy using Nigeria's money to buy Nigeria. Some call it "laundering" or "parking" government money in your personal or business accounts and skimming off the interests. Some say you just undervalue a national corporation, invite your friends from overseas to buy it and get the kickback later. Some say you just take government money and spend it on yourself. Nigerian leaders find all forms of creative ways to steal from their people. Read More: http://nigeriaworld.com/articles/2006/sep/174.html |

These Politicians know exactly what they have done wrong but are doing all they can to prevent the public from knowing. Please read Ribadu's interview below: FULL INTERVIEW HERE http://www.dailytrust.com/weekly/cover.htm Extract: WT: Can you give us an idea of how much you have recovered so far? Ribadu: Some of them we have documented. Some of them are not easy to even quantify. For example, recently, when we worked from December, when we started going after big time politicians or candidates who are occupying positions, the fact that we went in, made them return billions. They changed their mind about taking the money. WT: Can you be specific? Ribadu: I will not. But there are others that we know we have stopped and they are, like, just quietly ‘let’s return it.’ There are others we recovered money directly from. For example, we seized close to 40 tankers of crude oil and products. Do you know how much that costs? So how do you quantify this kind of thing? We have recovered hundreds and hundreds of houses all over. Maybe I am the biggest landlord in Abuja today (general laughter). So I am just telling you the difficulty of coming with a definite figure of recoveries. It is difficult, but I can tell you it’s huge. debosky, what do you think? |
Politics / Re: Indicted Politicians Cannot Contest by shutmouth(m): 10:14pm On Feb 19, 2007 |
debosky, you sound like a 13 years old tenager. Do you need a proof of corruption in Nigeria? EFCC has all the proof it need, and cannot reveal them until the indicted candidates have been charged to court. At this time, most of the politicians (if not all) are under immunity and cannot be prosecuted until the expiration of their term. From inception, EFCC started with 419 and cyber criminals and during this time, the politicians thought they were immune and did not expect that Ribadu would point a finger on them. A sort of Bluffing!!! Nothing in this planet would tell them that Ribadu will come after them at a time they least expected, few days to the election. The whole fuss over recent events is simple because this has never happened in Nigeria before and Nigerian politicians being what they are "Brain dead and die-hard" refusing to accept the change. It is a positive thing and one that will purify and solidify our young democracy for our future generation. Take heart my dear, it's too late to be complaining, join the EFCC bandwagon. . |

If Atiku is innocent (the way he claimed), he would not run a day to the judgment. He knew he would be arrested if the court verdict is against him. He is a coward!!! His suddent exit proves that Atiku is a lair and must not be trusted. Unfortunately, he has gone away to the wrong place UK. I would recommend North Korea. The UK will extradite him once his immunity expires tomorrow and if he is officially charged to court for fraud by the EFCC. This must serve as a warning to others especially Kalu and Co. |

The Nigerian people are part of the problem. For the extra money that a rich politician will give, we worship them. Some of us become thugs sorry "bodyguards". When someone joins politics (say a local government chairman) and becomes rich overnight, we don't question it, we celebrate the person. We even give them positions in church or at the mosque and do thanksgiving for the money.
