So do we blame GEJ who exhausted subsidy budget for 2015 fiscal year as of May ending or Buhari who inherited an economy of recurrent bill with no corresponding source of funding? Wailers will always be, I implore Nairalanders to be as wise as the serpent when dealing with these wailers.

Politics › Re: Is This The Best Way To Spend 500 Billion Naira? by Sibrah: 9:11am On Dec 21, 2015
To me, it is cheap politics. Buhari admin should aim high, the school children aren't dropping dead so Buhari should desist from such wasteful spending. He is not doing Nigeria any special favour by spending the money, it is his responsibility to oversee its best use.

My idea of this best use is to create an enabling environment for all Nigerians to express themselves economically. Selective stomach infrastructure is short term political stunt that will bite back and harder in the future. In Yar'adua time he blessed federal workers with pay increase because oil price soared and not because they put more efforts, today recurrent bill is crippling the economy as easy monies are likely to be spent on foriegn goods. Buhari should avoid the PDP traps. What we need is a goverment that creates the avenue for us to do business smoothly and not dash us food or money.
Politics › Re: Happening Today-female Commissioner Kidnapped In Bayelsa by Sibrah: 8:55am On Dec 21, 2015
In Bayelse, we have a state that has accumulated, in my own rough estimate N400Billion in security votes since '99. It has the lowest population of any state and has huge swats of muddy terrain that make getaway by criminals more predictable.
The ND people are beginning to see things clearly now. For every one finger you point at the 'almajiris' and 'parasites', three is pointing at you and the last one bear the accused witness.

TonyeBarcanista:
A Well Deserved Honor for Dr Goodluck Jonathan and President Muhammadu Buhari.

But what has Danjuma done for Nigeria and Taraba state to earn 'Life time achievement award'?
If not for weakness, what will make a man oversee the wastage of innocent live at the expense of stealing and then suddenly betray his supporters by handing power over to a man you know fully well will prosecute whoever steals from Nigeria. Jonah knows very few people are truly behind him and many are only supervising his downfall from within, no cheap attempt to win favour from Buhari's government will work.
He lost an election and he handed over as required by constitution. That does not bring thousands who were overrun by BH back to life. He even had the heart to spend huge chunk of 2015 budget thus strangling the new administration.
Wasn't it the same Vanguard that gave Uduaghan of Delta state award the other time? Brown envelope award, just like Soyinka did to National awards, I implore Buhari to boycott the award. It lacks integrity.

But then, it is a matter of "we can be better than this" we had oil at +$100 and did nothing with that money.
To Soludo, the cup of performance is half filled but to Nigerians it was three-quarter empty. Relatively, the PDP performance barely reflected the corresponding resource at its disposal. I score them 20%.
Politics › Re: How To Eat After Exchanging Dollars To Naira In Western Union by Sibrah: 11:53pm On Dec 20, 2015
I love that picture. It captures the beauty of export based economy. So instead of sitting and crying about N18,000 minimum wage, it becomes attractive to go into a trade that can fetch dollars. If for example I start bee keeping business and sell $500 worth of honey quarterly (3 months) then I make 500 X 250+(at N250/$ )=125,000 and 40,000 monthly salary instead of waiting for N18,000 from Abuja.

sultaan:
Let just say I know a few people that are slowly changing their money now to have maximum benefit of their vacation and by february it will hit N300 because dollars go dry for market and oil go even don reach $33 per barrel grin Obasanjo level when he took care of a lot of Nigerian debt economy is resetting
Obj was prudent with spending to some extent but wasn't saddled with a recurrent bill like we have now. Yar'adua govt help swell this bill in no small measure when he gave Federal workers pay rise. Jona and OBJ are guilty too, but 37USD then isn't 37USD now, believe me.
Politics › Re: Renewable Energy In Nigeria. How to create yours for cooking and electricity by Sibrah: 11:37pm On Dec 20, 2015
Good idea. We need more of these. The FG under last admin tried something like this when the awarded contracts for production of eco-friendly cooking stoves for about N10B. It met with opposition from Nigerians who didn't understand the idea behind it fully. It was strangely reported as "cooking stove being discussed in FEC meeting".
Though we have natural gas, ideas like these will surely help get Nigerians thinking in the direction of self-sufficiency. Keep it up.

MindTwister:
A government must have a blueprint from whence it operates. It is not enough to administer serious units of our life wire via deadlines. Serious governments run as a system of interdependent parts and the reductionist approach taken by this APC led administration is only fit for governments in the 1920s/30s where everything worked mechanically. How can you draw efficiency from providing cut off dates? Efficiency is built within the core of a unit, the core of a system, and the reason why this strategy will fail is because, rather than deal with the core issues of inefficient management and probably dead wood facilities, we are encouraging cosmetic interventions designed to retain jobs and to give a semblance of things working.

2015, the year of the great deception is over. We agree that we have been mugged electorally. Can we allow 2016 to be different a bit please? No drama, no pictures, no international trips, no media trials just work, work, work.

After that Buhari our man can get a boo...coz even his boo....
MindTwister is not twisting my mind with that sh|t written up there. All those core admin english can't check the barrage of excuses those hell bent on frustrating the systems are always giving.

He he he. They want a probe from 1984. They (PDP)were there for 16 years and saw nothing worthy of probe in Buhari so why the sudden request? PDP should just allow this man recover some quick money with which he can run this country. With oil selling for $37 how does PDP expect Buhari to acheive what they couldn't with $108/barrel?
The fact that PDP preferred to sponsor a vile N2.1B documentary attacking the character of Buhari is pointer to his clean record any probe dating back to 1984 is an attempt to waste and time derail the anti-corruption drive.

kahal29:
■ Say those denying are lying

A new twist to the ongoing investigation of the $2.1bn arms contract scandal may soon unfold as associates of the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki have threatened to make public a proof that those denying to have benefitted from the money actually collected the amounts ticked against their names.

They said it was shocking that some politicians would deny ever having anything to do with the ex- NSA and his office when there is a record to show that they received the money.

Addressing some newsmen yesterday, three of Dasuki’s friends and associates claimed that they were prepared to build up graphic cases against those denying receiving either material or cash gifts from the former NSA.

The associates, who pleaded for anonymity said that apart from a comprehensive subpoena of individuals and their proxies, who received financial and material gifts but have turned round to deny ever doing so, said they were considering releasing recorded video of all transactions.

“Some people are shamelessly telling indefensible lies. We have witnesses and recordings of these visits. A man received two retired army officers in his private sitting room, called his nephew to collect the bag and would thereafter say he saw nothing, heard nothing. This is very laughable.

“How did his nephew who has never worked in his life accumulate over N850 million in his bank account (0045586381) in a new generation bank?

“Let them cover what they think they could, and we would certainly spill the beans for Nigerians to see their hypocrisy.

“All of us would meet in court. But before then if they keep denying, we would release some clips on both YouTube and other forms of social media for the world to see their nakedness,” the one of the associates who led media interaction said.

Dasuki and some prominent Nigerians including Chairman of Daar Communications Plc, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, former governor of Sokoto state, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa are facing trial over their alleged involvement in the arms contracts funds bazaar.
