A Malaysian Airlines passenger plane has been shot down on the Russian-Ukraine border, killing all 295 people on board, according to a Ukrainian interior ministry official. Flight MH17, which was carrying 280 passengers and 15 crew, was flying between Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpar after taking off leaving at lunchtime today. The Interfax news agency reported that the aircraft went missing near Donetsk, where pro-Russian rebels have been fighting Ukrainian government forces for several weeks. TV pictures from the scene showed a pall of smoke billowing into the sky apparently from the stricken aircraft. It is believed the plane was struck by BUK surface-to-air missile at 33,000ft around 20 miles before entering Russian airspace Continue Reading Herehttps://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/07/17/article-2696161-1FB9CAEC00000578-477_634x393.jpg |

lagcity: But we are all ignorant of something and will always be. If you are literate, you have the tool to get rid of your ignorance or lack of exposure in a particular area. Look, I have never been to Japan before but if I plan to visit, I can read a book about Japanese culture and customs. I can learn the appropriate handshake, bow, eye contact, and chopstick technique so that I do not look like a complete id1ot the moment I land at Tokyo airport. If I can't read, how do I begin to learn about Japan? I would have to go find a random Japanese or someone who knows about Japanese culture. lack of Exposure can still leave a person totally confused in so many aspect. Being informed about a thing has less to do with the language with which it is communicated but more about being in a position to learn. literacy will aid exposure more than exposure can aid literacy any day. People who aren't educated still need to live a decent life. |

If the weapons will be handled a special unit then fine, otherwise it will be stolen by BH again and we will end up jacking up the defense budget until it overtakes NDDC, 13% and Amnesty figures. Secret Info gathering by intelligence unit is important in all of these. |
Computers › Aes Vs 3des Data Encryption Algorithm In Vpn by Sibrah(op): 9:53am On Jul 14, 2014 |
Good morning 'Nairalanders', I like to know more about the 3DES and AES digital information/data encryption algorithm. Which is more efficient on generic computer processors [everyday PCs] and which is more secure? Even though there are very efficient ASIC (Application Specific Int. Circuits) out there that handle these tasks very efficiently, I like to know more about the computer processor scenario. I am faced with the challenge of choosing between one of these two in a VPN set up i am working on. I have checked online to compare the two standards but decided to share the question with 'Nairalanders' in a bid to get ideas from people who are knowledgeable or with real life experience of these encryption standards Your contributions please . . . |

wirelessmaster: Naija,
There are link aggregators made by so many companies. Instead of using policy based routing which may be complex and may never work, why not buy a link aggregator made by one of the experts in Link aggregating. If I may ask,why are you aggregating link from the same company?
Brainstorm 07082375805, 08033737534 I have had a deep thought over the whole thing and it have finally concluded it either impossible or just too difficult to achieve for the purpose i planned to use it on. |
Computers › Re: Aggregating Two Wan Links From Same Isp, How Possible? by Sibrah(op): 5:08pm On Jul 08, 2014 |
seannopo: Yes, you can do that. You need to implement a multiplexing technique like TDM on both links. Search google, some guys in the states have implemented something close to this on wifi to achieve higher speed. What u talked about - TDM Multiplexing, is a channel access method. What i need is a channell aggregation method at the Layer2 and Layer3 of computer networking. Thanks for the effort. |

'Remote-Control' Contraceptive Implant Now Exist
A remote-controlled contraceptive chip which is implanted under the skin has been developed with the backing of Bill Gates and would last for 16 years

A remote-controlled contraceptive computer chip which would be implanted under the skin has been developed with the backing of Bill Gates. The chip, which would last for 16 years, would release levonorgestral daily, a hormone which is used to prevent pregnancy. However with the new implant, a woman could choose when to deactivate or reactivate the chip using a wireless control. It is designed to be implanted under the skin of the buttocks, upper arm, or abdomen. The implant provides a long-term solution to birth control and would mean no more trips to the clinic or a procedure to remove the implant. The creators believe it will be more convenient and if it passes safety tests, it could be on the market as early as 2018. They said it would be “competitively priced”. Pre-clinical testing of the implant, developed by start-up MicroCHIPS in Massachusetts, will begin next year. The idea for the chip originated two years ago. During a visit to Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) lab, Gates and his colleagues asked Robert Langer, professor at MIT, whether it was possible to create birth control that a woman could turn off and on. MIT said the implant would have to be encrypted to protect wireless data flow and keep it secure. The chip’s size is 20mm x 20mm x 7mm and reservoirs of the hormone are stored on a 1.5cm-wide microchip within the device. The implant’s daily dose works by a small electric charge melting an ultra-thin seal around the hormone. This would then release a 30 microgram dose into the body. The co-creator of the chip, Dr Robert Farra, said that the control would have to be close enough for skin contact. “Someone across the room cannot reprogram your implant,” Dr Farra, from MIT, said. He added: “The ability to turn the device on and off provides a certain convenience factor for those who are planning their family.” However the chip would not be without its problems according to Simon Karger. The head of surgical and interventional business at Cambridge Consultants told the BBC implanted technology faced some obvious risks and challenges. Mr Karger said he could “foresee a future in which a huge range of conditions are treated through smart implanted systems”.
