"Pursuant to Title IV of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (2009), the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability is helping to strengthen the capabilities for long-term analysis and planning in the three interconnections serving the lower 48 United States."

Ps:

You have little to say because you don't know what you're talking about. You have no links or data to back up points. Your arguing with the US dept of energy own website. Stop clowing you've been exposed. Your answer to grid is below in pictures.
Sir, I disagree with your diagram interpretation. Are you implying there are no cities or settlements between those three highlighted regions? Electrical power grid as a system is all about connection of smaller electrical power grid sub-systems. If the grids are connected then I believe they are all one and same electrical power grid.

I don't think so. I feel seprete grids would be better due to fact it could speed up development and reduce cost of transmission. Then start using smart grid technology. The one grid model failed so I propose it's time for new solution.
What is the meaning of this sir?

Lagos credit rating is good and infrastructure projects are ongoing.

While we know they will inevitably steal from the money they borrow,

Investing loan in infrastructure that can boost IGR is a good idea.
Fixed.

I accept.

In all honesty, don't you think the ministry of Agriculture or Works or Power etc, have these technocrats already who do this job day in day out, and who are permanent fixtures at such ministries unlike a minister who can be replaced after just 3months on the saddle?

A minister is just a political administrator, the ministries have directors and a permanent secretary who by experience and vocation are compelled to have this specific knowledge.

We really should stop this over-technocracy in our ministerial portfolio.

Was FFK or Stella Oduah a pilot or an airline investor to be minister of Aviation? Neither were they engineers or technically grounded.

A minister is just an administrator, with the exception of the Attorney General of a nation.

If the minister of Justice was separated from the Attorney General, and Engineer or a Surveyor could head such ministry, because he would just be an administrator of that ministry awarding contracts and overseeing the running of its offices nationwide, while the office of the attorney general would argue government case in court and give legal interpretation.
How can politics help fix a multi-billion problem that a politician isn't even aware of. Fashola isn't aware of distance problem in power transmission and how it helps aid vandalism - a challenge that's practically absent in Lagos.

So in conclusion we need someone who studied,

B.Sc understanding Magnitude and Nature of Nigeria's Transmission Problem.

Goodluck finding such professional. Or we recycle a past president or minister of power to come resolve what they couldn't fix before, but now understand?

Did Fashola succeed in those ministries while as governor of Lagos, Yes or No?

If No, I will link you up with Aresa, his pictures don't lie.
Stop sounding like one of them wailers bros.
Fashola doesn't understand the problem on ground. Simple.
How can he solve a problem that doesn't exist to him? Stop the negative emotion and reason. If you thing installing power plants that just a little more than generating sets in Lagos and transmitting same to few streets away is power system then any one with a gen set in his /her house can succed as a minister of power. You need to understand the problem yourself.

So the farmer Audu Ogbeh still needs idea about an agricultural where he is a plantation owner?

A former governor Dr Chris Ngige who was a former director at the ministry of health, and a state chief executive, has no idea about labour, managing workforce and trade union dispute issues?

An SAN and former governor of the most populous and complex state in Nigeria, credited with multitudes of road, housing, power, and infrastructure projects, still has no idea about Power Works and Housing?

A moro.n was suggesting that a labourer should be minister of labour, I hope you're a better moro.n?
Agric goes well beyond the knowlegde of few crops. There is the geographical and engineering angle to it. Agric on a national level reguires the knowlegde of dams, irrigation, storage, statistics gathering to foresee challenges and more.

No difference at all.

Tony Anenih of PDP was minister of works in the first 3years of Obasanjo's regime, from 1999 to 2002.

All the ministries under Fashola received priority attention in Lagos when he was the governor.

Is it the roads and the bridges? Is it the IPP power projects for the different business districts in Lagos? Is it the different housing estates built by his regime?

A governor who put such effort into those projects under such ministries is more than qualified as the political administrator of such ministries at the federal level.

Administration is the key.

Does he have the required administrative experience to handle such ministry? Or with such projects handled by his government, he does not understand the requirements to replicate such projects at the federal level?
You need to stop posting irrelevant facts.
Fashola's utterances as Lagos state governor shows he doesn't understand the magnitude and nature of our transmission problem.

Yet Ben Carson is a famous Neurosurgeon.
Kathleen Sebelius who was governor of Kansas was picked by Obama to be secretary of health. She studied B.A Political Science and M.A Public Administration. She was in that position from 2009 to 2014.
Tom Daschle who was Obama's 1st choice for that position, but was dropped due to tax payment default controversy, also studied Political Science, not Medicine or Pharmacy.
I don't understand why ignorant kids just argue from a position of darkness over matters that are non-partisan.
Fashola's case is very different.

I know you directed question at op but I like to answer since I read this topic alot.

1. Regulations of electricity market for many years creating many distortions on market. Then nigerians have issue allowing free market to work. (They want failed governmen to run industry)

2. Natonal grid is in disrepair like refineries. The transmission loss is as high as 35%.

3. The foolish regulations that have us sharing. Just like federal allocation system it makes many states lazy because they don't benefit from their work. Instead of generating power locally where it most beneficial it's shared and lost on bad lines.

4. Pipelines vandalism.

5. Our hydro power is very intermittent and we have to kick back a sizable percentage to our northern neighbor Niger so they don't block the dam up north.

6. Untapped resources of coal power. Then Buhari went to sign climate bill.

7. We simply don't have political will. Instead of fixing issue they use generator for decades.

8. The wrong people are appointed the position of power minister. Instead of have a competent electrical or power engineer as head. We get a Lawyer by trade to do it. Lawyers are smart but the aren't enginers. Would you appoint enginer to be Attorney general or Supreme Court Justice?

9. We don't know how much power the country really needs or uses.

I could list solutions but you didn't for that.
10. Lack of industrial estates to help reduce transmission line distances
11. Corruption with PHCN
