Xscape1993:Do we need to wait for the governor of Lagos to lift the curfew after the much awaited presidential Speach has directed all Nigerians to go about their businesses? |
Though I am disappointed, What is insultive about the president's Speach ? |
The president's speach " 24. I therefore call on our youths to discontinue the street protests and constructively engage government in finding solutions. Your voice has been heard loud and clear and we are responding. 25. And I call on all Nigerians to go about their normal businesses, and enjoin security agencies to protect lives and properties of all law abiding citizens without doing harm to those they are meant to protect. Let me pay tribute to officers of the Nigeria Police Force who have tragically lost their lives in the line of duty." I wish fellow NL member to analyse the statement frombthe president's Speach above, considering our federal constitution and issues of concurrent jurisdiction . Different state governors have declared curfew and the president's speach at no. 24 and 25 specifically call on Nigerian to go about their normal business and enjoined security agencies to protected lives and properties of all law abiding citizens without doing harm to those they are meant to protect. It means president Buhari has lifted all current curfews imposed by various state governors. What is your thought on this. |
Thank you president General Muhamadu Buhari. I am disappointed in the speech. He came telling us things we already know. If he has achieved so much , why is there so much poverty in the land and so much joblessness in the country. His speech is also insultive to the international community , that they should say what they know. His speech was like his usual speeches in the past. He claimed right and unnecessarily legal. I feel he did not give enough regard to the youth struggle and the president 's handlers are a bunch of disappointment . I am disappointed |
ibedun:He was actually in Turkey but the Nigerians there with assistance of some Israelis, they put him in crate and right now on board turkey airline. They are bringing him back to Nigeria. You people should go and wait for him at the airport |
Kingdemu:Try to understand the clause hilighted above. Are you saying it is lawful to use live ammunition on unarmed protesters? Under what circumstances would they use "teargas" "water spray" and plastic "bullets"? |
Murderer Sanwo Olu will tell the world 1. his duty as a governor 2. Light goes off preceded the shooting on order to cover up. 3. Who sent soldiers to attack the protesters without the governor's consent? 4. The whole world was watching the protesters and waiting to see your action after your curfew. 5. We believe now that Lagos has a governor that once had a mental problem.and a drug addict.. 6. Lekki toll gate light and Alausa protest ground light were put off, proceeding the shooting and brainless Sanwo Olu open investigation into the incident in a state where he is the chief security officer 7. If he says he does not know what happen, he has to tell us what he does with his security vote. |
*Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi To President Buhari:* A Soldier salary is 49,000 forty nine thousand naira, some no accommodation they rent house outside the barrack no risk allowance instead they sleep inside bush fought to defend the Nation. A classroom teacher with degree certificate receives 49,000 (fourty nine thousand) approximately accross the nation without good housing accommodation, acces to electricity, potable water, health care facilities and means of transportation yet you expect them to produce good engineers, bankers, lawyers, economists, architecture etc that will compete favourably with foreigners to fix the country. Where is the change? Change should start with the National assembly: = A Senator receives N36,000,000 (thirty-six million Naira) monthly. If this is divided into two = N18,000,000 million (Eighteen million Naira). The second half which is N18,000,000 (eighteen million Naira) can be used to employ 200 Nigerians, each earning a salary of N90,000 (ninety thousand Naira) monthly. When you multiply 200 people with the number of Senators (109), this will give 21,800 Nigerians gainful employment. In short, 200 Nigerians will be able to live a comfortable life on half a Senator’s monthly salary. A member of the House of Representatives receives a salary of N25,000,000 (tenty-five million Naira) monthly. If this salary is divided in two = N12,500,000 (twelve million and five hundred thousand Naira). The other half, which is the sum of N12,500,000 (twelve million and five hundred thousand Naira) will be enough to employ 135 Nigerians with a monthly salary of N92.500 (ninety-two thousand and five hundred Naira) each. Nigeria has 360 Members of the House of Representatives, half of their salaries can employ 48,600 Nigerians who can live comfortable lives. So, Buhari’s Administration can employ 70,400 Nigerians with monthly salaries ranging from N90,000 to N92.500 accordingly. This is just by dividing the salaries of Senators and Members of the House of Representatives. Half their present salaries is more than enough for them in a country where majority of Nigerians live on less than a dollar a day. (Now think of all the other over bloated salaries and allowances of Ministers and others) You may try this idea Your Excellency, the President... Nigerians, spread this message to Senators and Members of the House of Representatives and others |
rawtouch:Who told you that the governor has no powers to ban peaceful gatherings. ? |
All senators and reps are adviced to go back to their constituencies and talk with the agrieved youths. We voted for them but they did not represent us. If you fault my argument, then answer this questions..... Why will govt owe workers salaries but senators and reps get their salaries and allowances whenever due ? They neglect our educational system, destroy it,set up their own schools and even send their children abroad where they boast making first class. They owe doctors and no medical facilities in our hospital. When they are sick they fly abroad and get the best medical attention. They receive multiple retirement benefits as rep, governor, senator , ministers and all former presidents. Why will Nigeria not be broke. All senators and reps are adviced to go back to their constituencies and talk with the agrieved youths. |
fergie001:Edo people defied Obaseki's curfew order. The police are running for safety. Lagos government and police need to learn from this. Do not provoke the youth further. If government will listen to my advice...... All senators and all reps should go back to their constituencies and talk with the people that voted them to office. |
Jack005:If they want to change government, they should wait for election time. We are in democracy. |
Copied: *STATE OF THE NATION* *A SELF DECEIVING COUNTRY CALLED NIGERIA !!* *Twenty-one senators currently receiving pensions from government as ex-governors and deputy governors.* *The current senators who once served as governors are Ibrahim Gaidem of Yobe, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau of Kano, Kabiru Gaya of Kano, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Theodore Orji of Abia, Abdullahi Adamu of Nasarawa, Sam Egwu of Ebonyi, Shaaba Lafiagi of Kwara, Joshua Dariye of Plateau Jonah Jang of Plateau, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto, Ahmed Sani Yarima of Zamfara, Danjuma Goje of Gombe, Bukar Abba Ibrahim of Yobe, Adamu Aliero of Kebbi, George Akume of Benue and Isiaka Adeleke of Osun and so on* *The former deputy governors in the Senate are Ms Biodun Olujimi of Ekiti and Enyinaya Harcourt Abaribe of Abia. Danladi Abubakar Sani served as the acting governor of Taraba state.* *Many former governors are also in Buhari's Cabinet as Ministers. This includes: Ngige, Fayemi, Amaechi and Fashola (SAN)* *In Akwa Ibom State, the law provides that ex governors and deputy governors receive pension equivalent to the salaries of the incumbent. The package also includes a new official car and a utility vehicle every four years; one personal aide; a cook, chauffeurs and security guards for the governor at a sum not exceeding N5 million per month and N2.5 million for his deputy governor.* *In Rivers, the law provides 100 percent of annual basic salaries for the ex-governor and deputy, one residential house for the former governor “anywhere of his choice in Nigeria”; one residential house anywhere in Rivers for the deputy, three cars for the ex-governor every four years and two cars for the deputy every four years.* *It is alledged that in Lagos, a former governor will get two houses, one in Lagos and another in Abuja, estimated at N500 million in Lagos and N700 million in Abuja. He also receives six new cars to be replaced every three years; a furniture allowance of 300 percent of annual salary to be paid every two years, and a N30 million pension annually for life.* *This is the reality for all the 21 ex govenors and deputy governors who are currently serving as senators. This same is also true of ex governors who are now serving as Ministers.* *NOW I ASK:* *How many years did these guys serve their states as governors and deputy governors? Is it more than 8years? Is that a reason to be entitled to pensions for life?* *Even if they are entitled to pension for life, must it be so outrageous?* *As if that is not enough: HOW on earth can any public servant with conscience collect salaries and allowances as a senator or minister, and still have the audacity to claim pensions equivalent to the salaries of a serving governor in Nigeria?* *IT ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE. **Once you are elected a senator or appointed a minister, you must forfeit any pension accruing to you from government at any level until you vacate office. This should also apply to senators collecting military pensions like former Senate President David Mark.* *Yet these senators are in the Senate that is inviting the current finance minister to discuss the recession of Nigeria's economy. A senator pockets approximately 30 million naira monthly as salary and allowances. Our "honourables" are not interested to make laws that could restructure our country into economically autonomous federating States/Regions to save the country from sectional agitations that is threatening to destroy Nigeria. The sad and hopeless situation is that the rest of Nigerians are busy arguing based on party, ethnic and affiliations while these enemies of state continue to rape us.* *Do you know that it costs tax payers 290m Naira yearly to maintain each member of our National Assembly in a country where nothing works & 80% of population earn below 300 Naira a day ? A working day earning of a senator is more than a yearly income of a doctor; it's more than the salary of 42 Army generals or 48 professors or 70 commissioners of police or more than twice the pay of the US President or 9 times the salary of US congressmen.* *It's high time the country had a referendum on those outrageous salaries of Senators, House of Representative members and other political office holders.* *If you are seriously against the looting of our commonwealth in Nigeria, in the name of democracy, you can let this piece go viral by sharing it with as many of your contacts and groups too!* _IF THIS IS NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU JOIN THE WORLDWIDE #ENDSARS PROTEST, THEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS.._ ```This revolution is far beyond ending sars now, IT IS REFORMING NIGERIA...``` Keep sharing this post |

donestk:We have many high standard universities in Nigeria. Why would the children of politicians be allowed to go school abroad ? There are certain rules we need to introduce. If you must hold a political office, your children must attend school in Nigeria and you must be Nigerian in all you do. |
What in your interpretation constitutes a tangible measurable action by the government ? What exactly do #ENDSARS " really want ? I hope they do not try to change the government now by force. 2023 is near enough and they should not forget Nigerian government is a democracy. Leave when the ovation is loudest. |

Blyzz:Too much Money not worked for. |
We thank GOD for the wisdom of Mr Buhari not to accept the request of General Buratai to deploy soldier to quell protest.. So Mr Buhari, please tell General Buratai to go and face the bokoharam which is a statutory responsibility of the military for which General Buratai is failing. |
Acekidc4:What exactly do you need ? |
Can somebody tell us what value he or she gained from BBNaija or any of the housemates? Some state governors are not helping matters by publicly giving them endorsement. Any first term governor that spends the lean state resources on any of the housemates definitely does not deserve a second term . Any second term governor that does this too does not deserve any further elective office. MEDIOCRE GOVERNORS, MEDIOCRE PEOPLE AND LAZY YOUTHS |
Oshomole, please don't go to Ondo , that your presence may not bring defeat to the APC. |
Why take his life when he could resign and get job somewhere else. |
Adamma91:I congratulate you for your steadfastness and may GOD bless the work of your hands. Now that the lockdown is lifted and business bouncing back, please tell us your experiences in subsequent harvest and sales. |
Gamesmart:I believe that journalist thought that Cairo is in Europe. Cairo is the capital of Egypt in Africa. |
Where are the 800 houses located ? |
Which area of Ikorodu is most likely to be affected due to expected demolition to give way for the construction? |
[s]True story, I know of somebody who is currently in the camp[/s] |
I am short of words. But if the northerners are wise, what do you say of our southern brothers and sisters in government. They can and have repeatedly sold their conscience for a plate of porridge. |
APC has lost again in advance. CONGRATULATIONS TO PDP in Ondo state. It shall come to pass. |
Escalate and complain to the head office of your bank and just leave the money in your account. Don't spend a job from it. Leave it for like ten years before you touch it. |
