Hi,

Unfortunately, i cannot recommend a program for you.
Pursuing a second degree requires serious financial, mental and emotional investments and i would not want to recommend a course for you that you'd eventually hate or that has no correlation with your future plans and career goals.

You're the best person that can make this decision for yourself. Here are some questions you may want to ask yourself to guide your decision;
1. What are your interests
2. What is your career goal
3. What opportunities excite you?

With all this said, when it is finally time for you to apply for a study permit, you will now have to tell a compelling story that ties your background to your intended degree.

Hi,

Unfortunately, i may not be the best person to ask this question as i am not well enlightened on how best to add a toddler to one's study permit application. I would refer you to @ Ify85 on this one.

4evaco:
Hi all, good evening. I intend to apply together with my toddler who is a US citizen. Please does anyone know how I can add her to my application? I don google tire abeg I need your help. Thank you.

@frankrobben please I sent you a pm @sillysassysally please I'm still awaiting your reply to my request. Thank you.

Thank you for the kind words!
I'll include the ratio of approval to denial but i hope it doesn't freak people out... For the second suggestion, there is already a ratio that tracks average time between medicals passed (both upfront and requested) and PPR...

Thanks for the suggestions...

guzenaira:

Sis,

Nice work you are doing.
Sincerely, God sees your heart and willingness to see pple succeed a testimony you got with your fast approved application and PPR request and collection.

Since I have been on this tread since 2015, No selfless person rendering service on this tread ever left without an approval.

Things do change and application approach change from time to time that’s why I frequent on this tread to learn more when the need arises.

What I will suggest is you to add the ratio of Approval to denials. Secondly, the average time between medical pass to PPR.

I don’t know if I made sense.

All the best to the hopefuls and pls my advice to those coming into Canada, pls no matter how occupied you maybe, pls don’t forget to serve God who made all things possible.

Bye!

TRV UPDATE for the week ending May 19th

This week was a relatively quiet one - though processing time remained at 9 weeks.

I would encourage those viewing the thread but have not submitted their timeline to please do, as it would help us make logical guesstimates on CIC processing time. Complete information is still needed from Dolapok, Seatea, Oni2019, Promise147, docsaj, Cutieflaky, Teejay30628, Klem28, Boe19, Ancy 26, Omarzx, Hiambenson, Wealthmiq, Teslimot01, Pelumi12, Harveygordon, Alexkrueger, Emeritus00, Chinonye94, Atamanekpen and Okoriekwe).

Finally, if you guys have any ideas on how we can present this information better or what else we can add to it or remove from it, I am always open any adjustment that'll make this better.

Hi
I submitted my passport on the 9th of May for stamping. Here’s a summary of the line of events that followed afterwards...

1. I saw a document update relating to the counter foil. I saw this update on my CIC account and it essentially stated the validity of my visa (17th May)

2. I received my correspondence letter (18th May)

3. I used the tracking tool to track my visa and noticed that it was ready for pickup as at 17th May.

So these things may give an indication of your visa stamping status;
1. Does your CIC account show any document update relating to the counterfoil

2. Have you gotten a correspondence letter ?

3. Have you tried tracking the progress via the visa tool on Vfs website?

Dedzstar789:
Hi Sally! Congrats!

I also submitted my passport and it’s been more than 10 working days since it’s been there with no tangible info. Can you please let me know how long yours took to pick up? It’s going on the 3rd week for me now. Submitted May 3rd, been to VFS several times and nothing!

Your response is much appreciated.

I used the tracking tool on VFS and saw the following message... I guess the passport is ready for pick-up. What's the status of yours?

Aww thanks a lot girll!!!

Yas baby! Yaaaaaasssss!!!! I don't know if it's ready for pick up, i'm just happy your counterfoil has been appended and you have been officially approved! You go girl!

Hmm. Makes sense, thank you!

I'll wait till Friday next week before i visit them...
Naijaforeigner:

Difficult to say because normally, the CIC account is supposed to provide real time update. If we are to follow that, then it means your passport just got stamped with your visa today and would soon be sent to the VFS office but don't be surprised maybe they stamped your passport since Monday and the system just updated it today grin

If VFS is not far from your house, you should pay them a visit on Monday afternoon.

Medical Request – May 6th (I was surprised when I got this medical request because I did upfront medicals, so I was wondering why they were still telling me to do medicals). I sent a web form with my e-medical slip attached and I also sent emails to Lagos, London, and Kenya. On May 7th (the day after receiving medical request), I went to the hospital to see the doctor who attended to me and doctor told me that he sent IRCC a message to link my upfront medical ID to my medical request ID.
Medicals passed – May 8th

MsJu:
@sillysassysally hope you had a stress free day? Pls, how long did it take them to update your medical after you sent the proof of upfront medical?

I'd like to believe that this depends on the course you are going for. I would advise you to consult the website page of the program you're interested in to see if it is a requirement. You may also mail the admission office for your program to get more clarifications.

Miscellaneous:

Thanks, I appreciate.

Please can u help me clarify if McGill doesn't really require ielts for application and acceptance for grad studies?

Hi Hardeholar1,

I haven't heard of anyone who got a correspondence letter before medical request and then got an approval. The correspondence letter usually comes around the same time the final decision comes out. Though yours may be an exception... No one knows.

My advise for you is this; remain positive - whatever the decision is, do not let it define you because you are so much more than what these people can see.

Hi,

The embassy does not require IELTS for a study permit application.

Miscellaneous:

Hello,
Please I need to make some enquiries from you about Canada. Institutions like McGill dont require ielts from prospective students but I'm curious if the embassy will request for it

WOW!
I think that's what I'd do if they delay. I'll just go to anifowoshe...
Eromo10:
Congrats on your approval. I'm new here (been a guest for a few weeks, but joined today).

My brother had a case with the collection of his visa last year. He had booked his flight beforehand, and had to reschedule (paying extra), as he hadn't received the mail for collection. It was taking longer than expected, until he couldn't bear it any longer, and went to Anifowoshe on a Friday( he was to travel on Sunday - 2 days after) with his letter. I think the security guys there or so told me to be calm, since a favourable decision had already been made, and that he should go to VFS and wait. They later brought it that afternoon. He had little time to prepare though, but was excited all the same.

I didnt communicate with the hospital via email. I actually went there physically to complain...

MsJu:
Thanks for your response. I have contacted the hospital, they said it's been submitted and there is nothing else they can do. I tried sending Web form but I don't know the visa office handling the application. Can you help me with the email address used or can I just respond to the email they sent me?

Thanks dear, I hope they don't delay any further... This one that my portal is still showing that I am still under eligibility and background checks, is it possible for them to reject my application at this stage? lol
Bracha:
It would change to "ready for collection" or something like that. And after collection, it will change to "collected".

You have to give us a comprehensive summary of the said applicants profile.
Did the person apply to a DLI?
What course was the person going for and what was their undergrad major?
Age?
Study gaps?
Funding/Finances?

Visa application, tracking ID No.20190509CALAPPT0XXXX is being processed at the Canada Visa Office . To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website"

Qudkom:

Lol you need the tracking number to monitor progress from vfs to nairobi and back. So you know when to collect it. Also your cic portal eill be updated once you get the counterfoil at the embassy.

OMO I still dey wait oh!. They also told me 5-10 working days and i was given a tracking number but the thing isn't giving me any tangible information. I have seen some really cheap flights and i don't know if I should just take the risk and book my flight now or still wait some more...

I'm gonna call them later today to make further inquiries and i would definitely let you know how it goes... Please also keep me updated.
