I did the practice perfectly!

I'm so sure about that. I encountered almost all the questions.

ChikezieUche:

Did you work on past questions? The verbal part always seems easy but it's the most difficult because one may not strictly adhere to information given in the passage. Due to the fact that I practiced questions I saw a lot of the questions I worked on and was able to finish the verbal and attempt 13 out of 18 numerical questions.

Congratulations to all who got verification test emails.

I'm quite surprised by the outcome. I was quite almost sure I'd a success mail because i found the test to be extremely easy. How do you guys think they use the personality questionnaire? That may be the reason almost everyone i know that did the test failed.

Then maybe they're inviting from highest to lowest scores...

ebonyalhjnr:

I doubt your theory, I wrote my test on the 12th and deadline was 14th. I believe more mails will come in cause it seems like less than 20% of us that wrote the test have gotten success mail

TRV processing time update 26/03/2019

Congratulations to all those who got their approvals this month!

We now have a sample of 18 hopefuls. Please i would encourage those that have applied this year to please share their timeline (which should include; the application date, application route, biometrics request date, date biometrics was done, medical request date, date medicals was done, date medicals was passed, and the current status). If you don't have all this information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it.

This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates.

We have made attempts to "calculate" processing times. (Please note that this is just an average based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average). As we get more samples, I want to believe our calculations would be more "accurate".

Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data, please share with me.

What if they're sending the verification emails according to how quickly we completed the online test?

I completed my online test on the second to last day and haven't gotten any email. Can those that have gotten success mails tell us how early they completed their online test?

Hey,

Do you mind sharing details of the documents the submitted?

APPROVAL ALERT!!! God has been faithful to me .
Silent reader here, but this thread has really been helpful.

App submitted: Feb 22
Route: Paper (Ghana)
Biometrics: Feb 22
Eligibility review: March 5th
Medical Request : March 5th
Medical Done: March 7th
Medical Passed: March 15th
Validity of biometrics: March 25th
APPROVAL: March 25th

Conestoga  College
FALL 2019
Pgd Enhanced Nursing practice

My little piece of advice . Pray , package your application well, do not leave anything out especially if you talked about it in your SOP and please read through the previous threads before asking a question that has already been answered. Or simply google a key word and type Nairaland at the end of it, some threads with same words would pop up . You can also check the first page of each thread, there’s a simpler way to search for things on the thread.Put in some effort and research online about the schools and their programs and admission policies .

Okay thanks.

Seems like medicals are updated to "passed" within 4-5 working days on average.

2roodi:

It was submitted again on the 8th of March. Seeing that nothing had changed, I then wrote to the visa office in Nairobi on the 12th of March. I was told that I’ll get a feedback from them in 5 working days. On the 5th working day, I passed the medicals.

Hey,
My program falls under the school of management (similar to an MBA or a Masters in Analytics) and they don’t give “funding” to programs under this cartegory. It’s also not a thesis based program.
I however got a scholarship that covers part of my tuition.

Naijaforeigner:

Hi, were you able to get funding for McGill?

Thank you so much for this clarification

042viber12:

LOE is letter of explanation-letter written to explain/tackle reasons for initial denial... SOP is statement of purpose for first time applicants written to explain who u are, who and who are your sponsor and their relationships with you, why u study so so course, why sos so school, why so so country etc

Congratulations dedecoder.
Gurus in the house, i need some advise o. This one that TRV is falling on people make i prepare for my own sef smiley
I applied online with a passport which expires before fall term. Whats the best approach if i get approval alert? Send them the same passport i applied with or renew it and send both passports to them? Pls advise.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by sillysassysally(f): 7:34pm On Mar 23, 2019
wait... Is there a difference between LOE and SOP?

dedecoder:
Thanks! Well, It's God. I submitted almost the same set of documents as first with JUST the addition of a Letter of Explanation. 7-page SOP; 5-Page LOE, all making 12 pages.

I'm intentionally giving the number of pages I wrote to make a point which is: the number of pages is not the first thing to think about while writing visa SOP/LOE but whether you have successfully explained all grey areas or not and whether what you are writing makes sense or not.

But then, you don't have to follow my example in your write-up. As an author, I just felt embarrassed to be told "I am not satisfied that you will... Based on the purpose of your visit." So, I spent about two weeks crafting the response.

Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by sillysassysally(f): 3:28pm On Mar 23, 2019
CONGRATULATIONS!
dedecoder:
Approval Alert!!!

And that is how I finally get to share my own testimony. It's been the Lord's doing and no doubt, marvelously marvelous in my sight grin

Timeline

Applied December 12 2018 after being refused October 1 last year.
Medical Request: February 7
Medicals Done: February 20
Biometric Validity: March 22
Passport Request: Just Now
School: Centennial College, Toronto
Course: Biotechnology

Reason for first Refusal: Purpose of visit

So, who says college applicants don't get approval? Of course, I have always known that the notion is far from the truth. The difficulty or ease lies on "times and chances" just like with any other application.

Should any college applicant have a query or clarification, I shall be more than willing to supply answer.

My sponsor has her own company. Is her letter of sponsorship supposed to come from her company's letterhead?

I did a little research and judging by trv approvals in the previous threads, I found out trv's are usually approved 2-3months before program starts. So for the early birds little patience will be required I suppose
