My dear, i even went to the hospital today (IOM). The doctor confirmed that it was sent so i think the issue is from IRCC... Or maybe they sent me the medical request as a mistake... time will tell...

Schonebaby:

No it won't they will update it. You are close. Mine was like 2 weeks after medical update. Yours can be shorter than that since u're resuming earlier.
One more thing, you can call the hospital to confirm it has been sent. Is it IOM Lagos? I have the guy's number but I can't drop it on a public forum, and with the restrictions on communication here....
U can send to their mail or call the general line and pray they pick. But I'm sure they would have sent your results anyway.

I have done this!

I just hope this does not cause a significant delay.
Schonebaby:

Hi Sally. Really?
My medical was updated around 23 /24th of April, not quite sure....

Please send a case specific mail attaching ur upfront medical sleep. Make the subject "urgent- Medical done"
It will be updated.
Send with email or webform they read both

Please when did they update your medicals to passed?

Schonebaby:

Before sending your SOP/LOE to anyone for review, the best thing that you can do for yourself is to first do your own homework and ensure that you have written a convincing essay that addresses the issues the VO would be seeking clarity for. Depending on your particular situation, you may need to weigh in on some section more than others. For instance, in my particular case, I used prodigy finance loans as POF so I had to really justify the cost of undertaking my studies.

Here is the template my friend used... It was in the form of bullet points that she should address in her SOP/LOE
1. Why do you wish to study in Canada in the program for which you have been accepted?
2. What is your overall educational goal?
3. Why are you not pursuing a similar program in your country of residence?
4. What research have you done into studies in your country of residence or of citizenship?
5. How will this program enhance your employment opportunities in your country of residence or of citizenship?
6. Mention your Academic and professional history
7. State how the benefits of the intended studies warrant the cost and the difficulty of undertaking foreign education
8. Show evidence of how your declared employment (if working) constitute a significant tie to your home country
9. State employment prospects given the troubled economic condition in your home country that would compel you to return to Nigeria
10. Talk about assets or property that ties you to Nigeria
11. What ties do you have to your country of residence or of citizenship? Talk about family
12. If it has been more than 2 years since you have left full time education, please provide your C.V. (résumé)

Hiya Bracha,

Actually, regarding the post you highlighted, that was me asking a question regarding a challenge i was facing with my medicals, but i already got an answer offline so i decided to delete the post.

I will post the SOP template here for everyone to see...
Bracha:
Hey Sally, I just realised you took down this post. I hope it wasn't because of my recommendation; I didn't mean for them to ask you for the SOP your friend used. I meant for them to give you their SOP for review especially because of grammar.

I'm really sorry if I've caused you any inconvenience - I just realised a lot of people are asking you for SOP.

Pele.

I have a friend whose situation was quite similar to yours. She got full funding for an MSc and her passport was semi-virgin (lol) the only time she had ever traveled out was to the UK when she was very little (like 4 years old). She was rejected on the basis of purpose of visit, travel history, personal asset (something very similar to yours). The second time she applied, she used consultants (Maple Education). Some of the things that i know she did differently includes:
1. Deferred her admission as she was already short on time
2. Wrote a banging SOP - I can send you the template she used
3. Even though she had full funding, she still used a sponsor (her dad) whose SOA could cover her cost of education

Like it has already been said, i would advise you to order your GCMS notes immediately as it'll give you more perspective to what the VO's line of thoughts are regarding your particular application. When you have done all your hard work, don't forget that "faith begins where facts and figures ends" - Omofar. I pray that what God has started (getting admission and full funding) would be perfected for you.

With that said, i noticed we do not have your timeline information. do you mind sharing?

AgroNACT:

Thanks so much.

I think i tried my best to explain the purpose of visit.

About SOA, pls, is $46800 not enough for the total duration when the tuition for the 2years is $13072?

Really, I explained the job prospects, i even got a recommendation letter from an International Scientist in that field in a reputable international agric research institute practicing in that line. He also explained the prospects.

Please do i really tackle this issues in my next application?

Stay blessed!

How is NYSC a red flag? i don't agree with this.

For me, I think he failed to convince the VO on two key things.
1. Purpose of visit - how well did he address this in his SOA
2. Intention to return to home country after studies - the OP is 31 and has no travel history. Also, how well did he show potential job prospects upon his return to Nigeria?

These are the things that come to my mind. Of course, GCMS notes would help put things into perspective.

The Red flag here is that you are currently serving

when did you apply?

harveygordon:
Hi Everyone,

I did my biometrics on 16 April and got the below mail below afterwards:

"Dear Applicant

We would like to inform you that your application has been processed in our office on 16 Apr 2019
You can track the status of your application through our website mentioned below using your tracking number.
Tracking Number:20190416CALASTUxxxxx

Best Regards/Cordialement,
Canada Visa Application Centre, Lagos

However, my concern is that I tried tracking my application and what I have been getting is "no records found." Should I be worried? Note it is an online application.

Thank you for your response in advance

TRV UPDATE for the week ending May 4th

Looks like a good number of applications - about 8 - are lagging current CIC processing time which is now 10 weeks compared to 9 weeks as at last week. For those that got SP outcomes that they weren't hoping for, I pray for God's guidance through this short-term setback and that he perfects everything in the end.

I'm hoping that more people would share their timelines as this exercise helps in establishing a timeline around how CIC operates. We still have incomplete information from the following people: Seatea, Oni2019, docsaj, Cutieflaky, Klem28, Ancy 26, Omarzx, Wealthmiq and Iykedpetes. In addition, if anyone has received an update (i.e. medical request, eligibility, etc), please share because as it stands now, almost all of us are still on background check.

Finally, if you guys have any ideas on how we can present this information better or what else we can add to it or remove from it, I am always open any adjustment that'll make this better.

It shall end in praise!

I am so sorry about your denial. What school and program were you going for?

amozag2018:
I finally got a response from CIC and it was a denial after 11 months of waiting. Please how can I tackle the reason below:

Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.

Please what office treated your application? Kenya?
Also, Please how did you know what office was treating your application?

ILoveDLord:
I think I mentioned that in my testimony post.

It think it was about 3 times.

First email was for them to update my upfront medicals to reflect that I had done it. I attached the evidence again.

Second email, I asked them to confirm validity. Pleaded for speedy processing.

Third email, sent my police cert, explained why I couldn't attach when submitting my application. Then pleaded again for speedy processing of my application acknowledging the fact the I understand they are very busy.

I tried to be as polite as I could in my emails

I know how fustrating and emotionally draining this visa process is but my advice to you is for you to drop the sense of entitlement. The people that respond to queries here do so voluntary and are not held liable to responding to every post they see. Besides, your query has been addressed and you should see what you're looking for if you skim through previous pages of this thread.
