Then maybe that was the cause of the relatively longer processing time for the applicant with dependants that applied with her. It's even on CIC website that processing times may be longer for an applicant applying with dependants cos they'd have to do background checks for all of them(especially if they fall within a certain age bracket).

I need you to understand that T-bills are very liquid funds. in less than t+2 days, you can liquidate... It is not right to say someone's application took longer because the person used fixed deposit and t-bills. That is an outrightly false and has no backing.

Juleskiki:
Thank you for the reference.
You remb i said make your profile as clear as possible.
These two applicants have two different profile(s). One applying with no accompanying dependent with good hometie(wife and kid), the latter applied with family.

So how about cc ilovethelord?

Juleskiki:
Yea, you may be right or wrong?? Cos you did it and worked for you. Also going thru your timeline, your approval took a while(june-dec.) for a phd application. Have you tot that probably it was because it took awhile for them to verify that you had enough liquid funds. No one is saying liquidate all funds on fixed deposit or Treasury bill for visa purpose. However, you need to show proof of funds that are readily available.
So my advice make your profile as clear as possible to avoid delays.
That's my 2cents...

I have never seen a case of an applicant that applies with a conditional offer and gets rejected based on the conditional offer - even though the said applicant still meets the requirement stated in the offer. That is not true.

JustMellow:

TRUE to what you've said, and you should also bear in mind that many applicants has also been refused based on applying with a conditional letter.

BTW The contention between both Conditional and Unconditional offer letter is a two way string but one have better chances.

Hiya,

Please do you mind sharing the number of times you sent messages to IRCC regarding your application? I'm asking because I also have a very short time available; my school resumes in June and I was only able to submit my application this April so there's little to no time left...
ILoveDLord:

Please guys for personal reasons, I am not able to reply private messages (PM).

Please kindly ask your questions here on this platform and I will answer or someone else will be able to.

Also that's part of the reasons I have provided as much details here and I provide details when answering questions

Sorry to all those whose PM I didn't reply to.

Additionally, I believe questions that are asked openly here and answered could provide answers to many people's questions too; and could used as reference by the new /upcoming hopefuls in the future

Thanks for your understanding.

I wish you all the best in your applications.

Hi Nairaland fam,

TRV UPDATE 17/04/2019

We now have a sample of 46 hopefuls but i still want to encourage those that have not shared their timeline to please do. Let us contribute to this wonderful thread as we have benefited from it. This is the only way the thread can grow. For those that have submitted their timeline but haven't shared all the information we need, please help in sharing the full details (especially school resumption month and whether or not your application is new).

In particular, we still need information on school resumption date and application type (new or re) from the following people; Dedecoder, Godatwork23, Oni2019, docsaj, Cutieflaky, Klem28, Udomas, Ancy 26, Trishaben, Omarzx, umulobi, and Iykedpetes.

Also, if you guys have any ideas on how we can present this information better or what else we can add to it or remove from it, I am always open any adjustment that'll make this better.

So apparently, fixed deposits and t-bills can fly.

I have seen a lot of comments here saying that the aformentioned cannot fly for a visa application. I think its important that we are sure of the information we share here as people actually base their applications on what we say. Cc olamidemessi

ILoveDLord:
Well for me, I had most of my money in Treasury bill and fixed deposit when I submitted my application., and another huge amount in my pensions account

In my savings account I only had about 250k,and still submitted the statement like that.

Although I paid 2k CAD as initial deposit for my school fees

My visa was approved.

Cash in fixed deposit and treasury bills can be easily made available by liquidating the account /investment and I think the visa officers know that.

But I hope your friend has other money in addition to what his/her sponsor has, because in my opinion, 6 million may not be sufficient fund

This is still untrue.
conditional offers may take various forms; from submitting transcripts to completing prerequisite courses. Either way, It's clearly stated on IRCC that conditional letters can fly provided the applicant can meet the requirement. Besides, lots of people have applied with conditional offered without issues so the PA should not waste valuable time trying to sort out transcript and whatnot. No issues here.

DMerciful:
This is not the condition the op is asking. He is asking if you're given a conditional offer pending when they receive your official transcript and wants to know if you can apply with that conditional offer and I maintain it's a capital NO!

I agree with you. I don't think its nice for people to indirectly imply that a candidate shouldn't be worried because their application has not reached up to 8 months. People have valid reasons to be worried even though their application is "relatively new", let's just encourage one another. This thing is not easy.

AAO7:
While some people have had to wait longer for their medical request, some haven't had to.
If you don't have any answer, would be nicer to move along.
Using your application as an example, you got your medical request in about a month; would you have said this if it was you?
It's totally okay for people to worry (if they haven't gotten feedback) without them feeling like it's some competition with statements like this and others!
You lot need to understand that many times, people come here to talk about their application to seek support, not to hear they are baby applicants, after all some applications don't spend up to 6 weeks and they are approved!

PS: This not a personal attack, just quoting this as an example. Welldone for all the good work.

But you're really funny @bracha hahahaaha

Bracha:
IKR!! I find his posts so stressful to read sometimes. He misuses words, uses words in the wrong context and uses excessively big words which could have been simplified for better comprehension.
E.g his use of 'sage' is almost always out of context in a lot of his posts; 'wise' would have done the job excellently well lol.
His use of 'is you' instead of 'are you' makes me cringe everytime lol

I just didn't want to be the one to tell him; I wanted someone else to open the discussion then I'll come in. So, thanks for doing that grin tongue

PS: he does such an amazing job here, it cannot be overemphasised. I'm sure the grammar affects only me (it's like an OCD for me or something lol), so he shouldn't take it personally; it's me not him grin

Hey,

Regarding your second question, It is up to you to decide if taking the loan is worth it...You need to genuinely justify the cost to yourself;

Here are 2 key questions you may want to ask yourself;
1. What's the placement/employment prospect of the program you're taking this loan for like
2. What's the reputation of the school and the program

Regarding your first question, you must show the VO proof of funds for (tuition + CAD10K/CAD 11K if you're schooling in Quebec). If the loan doesn't cover the total cost, you need to account for the balance with savings or sponsorship.

What program are you looking at?

Josade69:
Hello bosses, I secured a loan from prodigy finance for my masters program. However the loan could only cover my tuition and part of my living expenses. I am scared of applying for a visa with just part of living cost (5000CAD) left to be accounted for.

Secondly, is it worth taking a loan from them for 10 years? The loan is worth almost 80% of the actual loaned amount over 10 years. Thanks for your usual and swift responses.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by sillysassysally(f): 8:39pm On Apr 13, 2019
This your grammer na die oh grin

JustMellow:

Hello Ayomiposi,

Every application of respective applicants is imbue with certain circumstances that connects the eligibility process ranging from "sponsorship, DLI, LE, Purpose of visit, Home ties etc of such filed application to "finance/financial sufficiency" which is paramount to a sponsor's "source of funds/availability of funds" minus the sponsorship expenses(tuition fees, LE); now enabling a focus to the new total available balance which could reflect in either a company or personal account on the occasion of such sponsorship pivoting around the "sponsor's (financial) circumstances."

What is of essence is to be guided orientally in order not to risk such sponsorship intentions by committing the source of funds to a bottleneck especially when most of the funds is domicile in a company's account. It only calls for scrutiny when a sponsor is using the company's account at the expense of its own risk to facilitate such sponsorship tendencies which would be a red flag.

In other to avoid this, the tradition of using a personal account was birthed as to a stretched length of a transparent guarantee/safety that the funds in such account can be accessed for any primary or even secondary reasons without derailing the financial flows of the source of funds when using a company's account.

In excerpt, whether its a company or personal account, for as long as it warranty the sufficiency in steady financial flows without sticking the source of funds in/close to mud, cause it would emanate to parading dirt(red flag).

I hope this answered your query.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Please what day exactly did you do your biometrics and what month does your school resume?
Dolapok:
TRV Approved!!!!
I just checked it now. I am very new on this platform infact the newest self. I joined months after submitting my application. I was naive about the whole process. I met @Qudkom in person in december and he put me through the entire process. I couldn't have done it without God and him. I was always reluctant to join and he made me join. Even if I am new here I still thought to share my testimony. And to all others I pray for a successful application. Once again thanks to @Qudkom he literally went through every page of my document and scrutinised everything, when he told me to start afresh I thought it was a joke but now I see the value. I am very lucky I met him in person and he introduced me to this platform.

Applied (Online): 4th of January
Biometrics: 8th of January
Medical request: *6th of February*
Medical passed: 22nd of February
Biometric correspondence: March 1st
Passport request: 12th April
Lambton college, fall 2019.

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!

ify85:
It all ended in praise!!!! Thanks be to God Almighty my baby's application was approved. It all started June last year. I applied with my three dependents ( hubby : SOWP, two children: V and I :SP). Then I was pregnant and our application took them six months to approve; Dec 20, 2018 and at that point I was already 8 months gone. So I decided to give birth before traveling. I put to be on January 14, 2019.

One week after birth I started another process of getting my baby's international passport which was ready end of January. I decided not to apply online because of the long wait of 2018 application. I waited for the baby to be at least six weeks old before setting out for another journey to Lagos both for upfront medical and paper application on March 6th.

After two weeks of her application they didn't update her medical. I had to write them to update it and they did. Then I gave them another two weeks because there's no background check. I sent them email on Monday to attend to her application and on Tuesday eligibility review started. Then this morning they replied my email that they have finalised her application.

To all hopefuls!!! Yours will end in praises.

TRV processing time update 12/04/2019

Our sample size is now 39 people!

I would encourage those that have applied this year to share their timeline using the details in the picture below. If you don't have all the information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it. This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates. (Please note that the calculated estimates are just averages based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average)

We still have incomplete information from (Dedecoder, Godatwork23, Dolapok, Oni2019, docsaj, cutieflaky, Klem28, Ancy 26, Trishaben, Omarzx, ify85, umulobi, Iykedpetes)

Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data or if there is a better way you think I can present the data, I am always open to suggestions.

Medical passed: 19th of February
Biometric validity: 7th of March

**Documents submitted**
Sponsor documents(Father):
1. Letter of sponsor
2. Sponsor company ID card
3. Company CAC certificate
4. One property document
5. Company accounts:
Account A: inflw-124M outflw-63M balance-53M
Account B: inflw-64M outflw-62M balance-2M
6. Savings account:
Inflw:68M outflw-65M balance-3M

Client Information:
1. SOP(wasn't up to a page 4 paragraphs touching key points. Though the letter heading made it longer than a page.)

2. Education credentials (Waec certificate, Bsc certificate and transcript-student copy) I didn't include NYSC Certificate***

3. Curriculum Vitae ( A page CV)

4. Employment letter (internship) at Access bank in 300Lvl.

5. Letter of employment (from fathers company where I work, signed by my FATHER and his SECRETARY)

6. Police clearance certificate.

Other documents:
1. Filled IMM forms

2. Passport and travel history(UK,2008. I ALSO SCANNED THE DEPARTURE AND ARRIVAL STAMP)

3. Letter of acceptance( full tuition for a semester)

Resources used:
A. "Clear scanner" App on my phone(Scanned all the documents with my phone) and merged it. It's an amazing application.

B. "Ilovepdf.com" to compress also did that on my phone. Be careful with the online compressor you use because some store your data on their servers which can lead to sensitive documents being assessed by 3rd parties.

C. I didn't scan all the pages of the statement of account. It was to bulky so what I did was:
● I scanned the first 5pages; a page each of every month and the last 5pages of the last month. That way the quality was clear. I also attached the reference letter signed by the bank manager and relationship officer that way I had 3 reference letters one for each statement.

P.S: I kept my application simple and straight to the point and submitted my application 8 months before the program start date (Fall 2019), I submitted early to give my self contingency just incase I got rejected I can easily reapply. I joined this forum in part 11 and have been following up since then. I had to be patient regarding my application and it all started February 2016 back then I was clueless and met several agents I am glad I followed my instincts and used google and this forum to my advantage. I remember one agent asking me to bring 500k to help me "submit" my documents lol. After 9 different admission letters from 3 different institutions I finally got it right. To all the trv hopefuls keep the faith and be PATIENT AND CALCULATED. As usual I will continue offering my advice to whoever needs it.

Dealing with study Gaps/Purpose of Visit:
I have 5years study gap but I showed a good record of all my activities in the last 5years. Submitted my father's company blueprint what I hope to achieve etc. And summarised my motivation for a diploma program in a short but detailed SOP.

Home ties: Fathers company, Director in the company, corporative associations I belong, fathers property, family etc

Wheb I was giving details of my dreams for my father's company I left a 7page blueprint of my mission for his company. As an economics student I had in depth coverage and analysis.

IF ANYONE NEEDS ASSISTANCE I AM A PM OR MENTION AWAY FROM ASSISTING.
