Gregorian2020: Ordinary fever na covid 19 patient oooo Small headache are all placed on isolation center Don't make mistakes to cough when you are in government environment or else you will isolated until that cough is over. Nigeria covid 19 is baby covid 19, the one of America, China, Italy, France, Germany, and so on that is the matured and dreaded covid 19. The level of our discharging is something else. Thank God that we are doing well You think it's only in Nigeria where covid patients are discharged? |

k4kings: The best we can do for ourselves this year is to try and stay alive. It is an individual responsibility now.
The government might not have done the best they should have done obviously but we can't continue sounding the gong of they have embezzled the fund.
All over the world upscaling testing is a priority but a difficult thing currently even when you have all the money in the world.
Let everyone of us take responsibility and do the best we can to protect ourselves by atleast doing the basics as recommended by the government. Let's wear our mask and try as much as possible to maintain social distancing. It might sound like alot but that's our only option for now. Reasonable comment sir. Testing is a global issue. Our own case is we lagging far too behind and now having issues like shortages |

jrusky: Yea because I can not understand again. The more they discharged Corona patient the more people get infected.
Its very confusing and strange. Look at it this way a school graduates a set, then promotes another set and admit more to replace the promoted set. You get? Now in this case covid is highly infectious and when one contracts it and gets hospitalized, either one recovers or dies. So while people are in the health facilities presumably well and ready to be discharged, the virus is still spreading rampantly outside. In Nigeria's case the rate at recovery is lower than that of new infections. So while they discharge maybe 10 today, another 30 will be coming in. And before discharging the same 30, another 100 will get admitted simply because the virus is still out there and spreading fast! Please don't mind my overly lengthy epistle . It's my way of coping during this period pending when it'll pass |

Also, your analogy is downright stupid.
Also also, rational people don't type in all caps.
Also also also, your allegation that the BBC, whose native country suffered the worst death rates in all of Europe, is defending big pharma, who've no vaccines or potent drugs yet, is frankly silly.
If the bottled snake oil from Madagascar works (something the country's own scientists say is nonsense) you think Madagascar won't be the richest country in the world right now? You've said it all. nameo: Nigeria is in deep poo cos your President failed, as SanwoOlu and Fayemi said recently, to lockdown airports and properly isolate those coming from abroad on it between late Feb and late March.
The virus was brought by few people and has now gone to the dangerous community infection stage.
For almost 2 months, Nigeria has tested about 18,000 persons(a tiny proportion of our population and even smaller than what some African countries have done).
Govts, at all levels have failed to provide palliatives for people to stay at home(which is the main reason the lockdown is been eased by the way), failed to effectively enforce the lockdown when it was operational(including inter state travels), failed to expand bed capacities in lieu of expected increasing space(the Min of Health only suggesting recently that Nigerians give their houses as isolation centre), failed to provide PPEs for those in hospitals such that hospitals are rejecting patients who may not even have Corona.
We are paying for the abysmal leadership we have tolerated for so long in this country. At this point , only God can help us fooolishness and show us mercy. You have said it all. I would add non-challant citizens as well |

Itiswell2018: The question is how are these people tested, is it a door to door test or are they randomly picked and tested cos some of the cases have no interaction with the index cases. I think it's a mixture of door to door and contact tracing. Like people who start showing symptoms and call and are confirmed positive. Now with the easing it's not going to be easy for ncdc to respond unlike during the lockdown |

How can you say people are leaving Kano in droves when we are in the city and people are all going on with their affairs especially today when there is an ease of the lockdown, this is misinformation and a wicked attack to the image of Kano and Kano people.
Seun please do something as soon as possible before the situation goes out of hand. These days I am always promising myself not come back to Nairaland due to high amount of insults and hate speech direct towrds the North, Huasa people and Muslims, but I always end up coming back because of the familiarity with the platform.
