ezeagu:
Yeah well I'm talking about the difference between stepping on someone's feet as opposed to stepping on a whole countries feet. I don't agree, it's not the same thing. After all who makes it possible for others to take advantage of a countries citizen's? At least these people have actually worked somewhat for their money, I don't think they sat somewhere and looted a whole countries treasury, but I bet you'll argue against that and say the owner of apple looted America's treasury.
Im not talkin about Nigerian politicians who loot im talkin about private business men who influence politics and the flow of economy through bribes.

What you stated before is
ezeagu:
There aren't many popular Nigerian's in the west, plus you can't bribe your way into the list grin. The person that co-founded Google is there, he's worth at least $10 billion. shocked

I don't know why there aren't any Nigerian's on the list though, then again most of the immigrant's are from China, Japan, India, the Middle East and Europe, I don't know any legitimate Nigerian Billionaires.
as then  I said
sjeezy8:
all im saying is godforbid a Nigerian moves abroad to make an honest living and ENDS UP BEIND A SUCCESSFUL IMMIGRANT people like ezeagu, will think he bribed his way to the top

and im sure many these people bribed their way to the top also
cause theres no way one can be a millionaire or billionaire without influencing people with their money
So my point is for any billionaire to reach that status, he had to have some how bribed his way to the top.   Porbably using his money to influence things in his favor.

Common sense.

At first i thought this guy is a tribalist. Now i know you dont represent igbos we at all, because you dont believe any legitimate igbo or yoruba/Nigerian can be a sucessful business man

business is business

It seems you dont think shady deals with corrupt leaders is as shady as the leaders themselves.

Everyone you named benefits off of any third world country using their products. As they have influence in all countries they have dealings with.

Economics goes hand in hand with politics. My point is any one that is abillionaire would have to have stepped on someones feet to get to the top.

its just common sense
PoliticsRe: Not One Nigerian On List Of Most Successful Immigrants by sjeezy8: 11:49pm On Sep 11, 2009

Who doesn't have shares in Corrupt governments in third world countries

or who doesn't profit off of third world countries?

All Nigerian spys start exposing fraudulent Nigerians publicly, so everyone will know there are good among Nigerians.

The Arabs spoke out against terrorist publicly
The Italians spoke out against the mafia publicly
They are clearing their names publicly for the world to see there is good among them

Why can't Nigerians spys do the same If they really care about bettering good Nigerian reputations? We good Nigerians dont care who you are, we want you to prove to the rest of the world, that good Nigerians like you exist.

so what so hard about that? GET YOUR TV TIME

Maybe if you start people wont think ALL nigerians support fraud and scams. Like the media says the Nigerian community does.

naija2010:
the yoruba's are giving us a bad image and it has become a fact
THEY DO? What about the igbo drug dealers in China, south africa and india, or what about the Edos who engage in human trafficking in Europe? or what about those guys who brutally murdered their wives in America? they weren't yoruba but were, take a guess

you make no sense

YES ALL PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHERE THEY ARE OUT THEM

BUT MAKE SURE YOU GET TV TIME AS BEING A NIGERIAN THAT DOESN'T TOLERATE FRAUD.

BECAUSE THE MEDIA LEAVES OUT NIGERIANS WHO ACTUALLY ASSIST IN FINDING CRIMINALS

REMEMBER MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR TV/ NEWS PAPER TIME

so they wont turn it around on good Nigerians as they've been doing for the Last 15 years

@LeilaniMSP i swear i think i know sjeezy's problem. He is in denial and watches too many films. for him it is okay for a 20 old in the US to be driving around in posh cars when he does not have meaningful employment. Most people think once you arrive here, you will be picking silver and gold from the streets. That is why some get into serious trouble when reality collides with expectations. Like i said too many films. Also i do not care what crimes other people from other countries commit, i care what image the people of my country if portraying. even if it is 1 out of 150 million it still matters. That boy is seriously in denial
Watching to much films?

I seriously pity Nigerians because African Americans like Cornel west, Roland martin, and Michael Eric dyson get how the media potrays blacks negatively despite the many positives. The point is why must the media bradnish ALL Nigerians as being fradulent or black criminals.

At SJeezy

Other Nigerians feel vindicated. This is not about the western view of the African world. This is about the entire world view. Other african countries view us as crooks not knowing there are actually some with bachelors degree, masters and for numerous others like me, a PhD. Yes. We have normal jobs. Even worst case scenario for those without a degree, we see elderly women in their late 50's and 60's working HARD working in warehouses, security jobs, janitorial jobs, lifting group home residents, washing white people's asses, feeding them and babysitting them and getting paid a mere 8-10 dollars per hours. I know People like the latter still buy cars and send them home to their families through hard earned sweat. Yes, WE FEEL VINDICATED because we are all NOT criminals.

You sound like you do the same thing or you know them otherwise you wouldn't get on me for using that word.
And my hubby and I were invited to the party all the way from TX. It didn't make any sense travelling down there to attend an excessive party thrown for a 21year old. I have a facebook too. SHe had her 21yr old party basically 2 months before that and I guess they decided to throw a second one but this time, with ankara and gele. I felt it was excessive. I have sisters older than her and younger than her. Younger kids nowadays should be taught about the value of hard work. If we work hard and set better examples, we can all be successful.

I will continue to speak publicly about my disgust with criminals that always seek the easy way out. Credit Card Fraud is mainly and Nigerian thing and it needs to STOP!
It is about how the Americans will view Nigerians in America, if it weren't i wouldn't care. I have no problem with them catching these idiots, its the part about NIGERIAN being published and branded all over the TV/newspapers that i have a problem with. As if they're isnt any Honest working Nigerians out there.
and obviously you are not speaking publicly about it, cause if you were your face would be on the news or news papers, as a person/Nigerian who aided the police, but it wasn't .
The stigma of Nigerian fraud is caused more by the Media than by Nigerians who actually commit the crime.

I myself believe in honesty and hardwork, so your insuating me doing 419 is totally incorrect. Im not defending criminals, im defending Nigerians who are hard working but still labeled as fraudsters for being Nigerian. My point is that why cant the media Leave out the Nigerian part or ever put a good article about those Nigerians such as yourself who are against fraudulent Nigerians such as the fools who got caught.

Petty fraud is committed by Nigerians no doubt, but the LARGER amounts of fraud in the Numbers of millions and billions of dollars, are committed by people such as Bernie Madoff, Albert Gonzalez, and James Davis of stanford group. While the ethnic group they belong to isn't being persecuted like Nigerians are.

If you dont understand, than good luck im sure you will understand in the future.
PoliticsRe: Governor Fashola Lacks The Will Power To Tame Lagos Agberos by sjeezy8: 12:21pm On Sep 11, 2009
lagerwhenindoubt:
Unfortunately there is little we can do about them.

I was very unfortunate to have had a run in with Agberos on Eko bridge just facing the National Arts theater. My car broke down between 10 and 11Pm. as i pulled out my Caution sign to warn road users of the problem ahead.

3 boys stepped towards me from the dark and asked me for "Food Money" i replied I am in trouble here please help me push and i will pay your food money. out of the blues i received a slap from behind and as i turned i saw 4 other boys, one got into my car and started ransacking it. while the others continued to slap me about and ask where i kept my money. all this as people other cars drove by. I even got kicked in the nuts. can u believe that.

I was very fortunate that a policeman drove by on an Okada to halt my suffering. without phone, cash and dignity, i begged him to hang-around a little longer . he called a tow truck which i paid 10k (to take me home) and wrote him a cheque for 5k (for saving my life obviously)

Pray you never have to be in the hands of Agberos ever. I laughed when i heard of the Fashola CCTV. i guess he paid me back for that.

Fashola has no intentions of solving the area boy problem, neither did Tinubu or the present or past OBA of Lagos. they have a dastardly evil purpose and when the time comes, they will be used with deathly efficiency. (Obanikoro Nigerian Ambassador2ghana was an Agbero once)

What credit where you talking about? That only the yorubas are good in diplomacy, I still beg to differ that diplomacy is not unique to yorubas neither is kidnapping or blowing up things a Niger delta thing as you implied in your original post,

I never said yorubas are the only ones with diplomacy, i said they display it the most and dont blame their problems on other reigions or tribes. lol actually blowing up things outside the Nigerdelta like in Lagos was an act by the Niger deltans MEND who did it in the name of their cause. What i implied was you dont see organizations in the west killing innocent people because they feel opressed like MEND. If you dont get that then sorry i offended you, you are to tribalistic to see past the Word "yoruba" or the "west".

Foreign AffairsRe: Nigerian-Yoruba Criminal Gangs In America Busted Yet Again by sjeezy8: 11:41am On Sep 11, 2009
@LeilaniMSP

Im not sure how any hardworking Nigerian would feel vindicated, seeing as how they still published the article about "Nigerians doing fraud" as oppose to "Nigerians against Nigerian fraudsters". Now that whole minnesota Nigerian community is black listed and they will now be labeled as excepting money from them,  when im sure it was only those who actually associated with these criminals.

At the end of the day we are still Nigerian and the story about "Nigerians doing fraud" is what the Americans want to hear rather than "Nigerians against Nigerian fraudsters".

So no reason to feel happy, outsiders will look at you as part of that "Nigerian community"that excepted money from them, even if you didn't.

and get that hatorade out of you system, mad cause she had ankara for her party and didn't invite you to wear it. HATER
Foreign AffairsRe: Nigerian-Yoruba Criminal Gangs In America Busted Yet Again by sjeezy8: 11:09am On Sep 11, 2009
Aloy~Emeka:
Dude, enough of this nonsense. We are more concerned about our image but what of the people who got scammed of their hard earned money?. Will you speak this way if you find your money missing from your account?. That is what they do in Nigeria. You have 200k today and over the weekend, a scammer will cash all from an ATM. If that is what you saved throughout the year, how will you feel?.
They tap emails and obtain western union information, cash it from a bank before the real owner shows up. is that how you want us to live in this country?
I think you're missing the point. as you said What about the people who get scammed out of their money?  my point is, Are Nigerians criminals the only ones doing scams and identity fraud? Are the people that get scammed only non Nigerians? as you said they do this in Nigeria also. It happens in all countries by all ethnicities, so Why the emphasis on Nigerians around the world? As i said they have double standards for Nigerians/blacks. The double standard is basically saying its ok for person of British,Italian, Irish decent in America/Uk, to do fraud and be arrested without their ORIGIN being blasted, but if a Nigerian man does fraud they have to always put Nigeria there. (which further dirties Nigerians name across the world who want nothing to do with Nigerias bad name)

My whole point is Scam has been around for decades before Nigerians learned about fraud, mind you Nigerians are Late to the game of scam and fraud (419 started in the 90's). Helping expose fellow Nigerians only helps tarnish our reputation, which the western world loves. The western world have been recruiting these  Nigerian spies and Efcc like organisations. But from all this what have Nigerians gained? NOTHING, all the efforts of Nigerians to do away with fraud go IGNORED and we are still looked at as being fradulent .

Nigerians are helping the Western world expose Nigerians but the Western world isn't helping Nigerians expose outsiders who Purposely come to Nigeria and use bribe to control Politics, Oil, and the Economy. Neither in America cause we aren't considered americans, though  we work and pay taxes here honestly
I hope you dwell on it and understand.
