Laurendee:
Please for a 2 year masters program with 4 terms, will one need to have the tuition of all four terms(40k CAD)and one year living expenses in ones account before applying for the study permit?

It's highly essential to have enough fund that will cover your first year tuition fee and living expenses before you apply, but if u can demonstrate genuinely that you have enough funds that can cover you throughout your entire program, it may place you on a better edge.

Good evening house. Pls I would like to ask these questions on behalf of my cousin sister who now wants to apply for study visa but I need assistance from gurus in the house.

She got admission offer in December, 2019 at centennial college for spring intake. She applied for a year culinary skills program (catering related) . Meanwhile, she graduated 2009 in applied Physics but has eventually switched her career to catering. Her catering business is likewise registered in 2016. Her dad who retired a long time ago will be sponsoring her. He just disposed one of his inherited properties, so he has more than enough in his account to sponsor her even though he has not been running his account before now because he is retired. The sudden cash he received from the sales of his property is what he wants to use as his account statement, coupled with his affidavit and letter of support. Also my cousin just clocked another new age this January, in fact, she is in her early thirties, single, and also doesn't have a good cash flow in her account for the past 6 months.

Pls, with all these complex issues, how do we begin her application towards a successful one. They intend looking for agents but I told them not to for now that they should give me some few days to make enquiries on her behalf from some of my ogas on nairaland

Pls help a family.

Hello Slimmsyyetty,

Either way is okay. It depends on your pocket budget. If you can valuate the property, then good and if not, don't stress over it. You can simply just notarize.

However, there have been quite convincing numbers of previous successful applicants who didn't notarize.

Good luck

Thank you so much.

Good morning house.

Pls, if a sponsor wants to include his landed properties in addition to the applicant documents, what official way should it be? should the documents (land, houses) be notorised only and / or be assessed by an estate valuer or which other official way can it be done?

Thank you all.

Hello house, a friend has just received a letter from Ontario to challenge the exam for her trade that she practices here in Nigeria (under skilled trade). Pls how will she go about it?, what kind of visa will she apply for?, what are the documents she needs to submit to the embassy, if she passes the exam, what's next?, and if no what's the way out. She fears the exam might be tough.

Approval!!
Hi I’m a newbie been a silent reader since I submitted in August . I decided to post to encourage everyone from the wave of refusals

Timeline: online route
Submission/upfront medicals- August 15th
Medicals passed- August 22nd
Eligibility review started- August 22nd
Bvl/approval/ppr- October 1st
Passport submitted-October 2nd
Passport returned- December 2nd

This was my first application although I got visit visa last year but it expired in June cos my passport expired

The last 2 month were the longest months of my life I kept thinking of what could have been wrong for my passport to be held but thank God

I didn’t write SOP/LOE

Docs submitted were:
* Letter of Acceptance and fee statement
* Receipt of 1st semester fees as well as telex copy (paid with zenith bank)
* Proof of funds: letter of sponsorship stating that the amount estimated by the school as living costs has been transferred to my account , my bank statement 3.2m (11CAD), parents bank statement not up to 1m, parents payslips and my employment letter .
* Then all the required forms

Course applied for is Post graduate Certificate at Seneca College.

All in all it was Gods favor cos when I read about all the SOPs that people submitted and saw closing balances I had anxiety. My application itself took 6 weeks and 4 days

I think it has gotten more to do with the fact that he already had a Canadian visitor's visa, which expired in June. Also, to some extent, the visa officers cherish statement of account with a very good cash flow, thereby, prompting them to overlook the closing balance, but I believe the travel history created the opportunity.

The only reason for Canada study permit refusal is the feelings of the Visa Officer in charge of your application.

That's your own opinion! There are some refusals that could be avoided if only things were properly done well, and moreover, the video isn't different from what @JustWise @Qudkom and the rest have been saying. Would you just submit your application anyhow just because you don't know what feelings the VO will have towards your application? OURS IS TO DO WHAT'S BEST AND LEAVE THE REST TO GOD.

For a 2yr program, the required funds to be shown is for 1yr that is sufficient to cover a semester/year tuition fees and LE. Then demonstrate how the tuition fees and LE of the subsequent year would be met.

The process of showing funds is same whether a 1 or 2yr program. The most important thing is having extra in the account after the funds for tuition fees and LE has been shown.

Its advisable to apply for the admision on time even before the 3 - 4 months. At least, the SP extension app should have been filed within this period.

All the best

@Slimmsyyetty

Also, if you can get visa for 1 year PGC from Nigeria in a program of your choice, there is really no need going for a second program. You can get a NOC job once you are done with your one year PGC which qualifies you for PR.

Once you are done with your one year program, you wait for your program completion letter (usually 2 weeks after program end date) and then apply for PGWP. Once you have applied for PGWP you are allowed to work full time (not before applying for PGWP). PGWP takes about 3-4 months before you get it.

About one month to the end of your program, you start applying for jobs in your industry. Apply to jobs in your city, province, outside your city and outside your province. I can assure you, you will get a job before your PGWP comes out (infact, within 2 months of graduating from your program tops). This saves you paying $14,000-16,000 for another PGC.

One Indian girl finished her PGC program in London, Ontario August, she got a job in September in Winnipeg. She had to move from London to Winnipeg. She spent 1 month on the job, she got bored and kept applying for jobs and got another job in Ottawa paying her $23/hr.

According to her, she sent out over 50 applications, went for 7 interviews and got 3 job offers from August till date. The money is small, applying for over 50 jobs can be stressful but if you ask me, the stress is worth it if it saves you paying another college money.

Infact, all the guys and girls I roll with (about 7 of them), that we graduated together in August have all gotten jobs. And I mean every one of them. The ones in london Ontario are getting paid between $16-18 for full time entry level jobs and they are still waiting for PGWP. I must be honest, the money they are paid is very very small but getting PR and the Canadian work experience is the first priority.

You should only go for a second program if you have the money and it is absolutely necessary.

You will get a job if you have a good result, willing to move around Canada and attend a good college.

Before I forget, if you decide to go for a 1 year PGC or 2 year PGD, if your program has a co-op option, you should choose it. An opportunity to get work experience before graduating is always a bonus. While doing co-op, the company may retain you or you can network from there.

I wish you all the best.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Hello Slimmsyyetty,

I have addressed this question on my earliest post, check it out. But however, i will try drop some insights.

Before choosing a program/course, the things to consider are:

1. Purpose: Immigration or career advancement.

2. Progression: Previous program/course of study or work experience.

Thus, the visa duration depends on the study length or the validity length of the passport. Also, prior to the completion of her program, she can apply for a PGWP. However, a 1yr program amount to a 1yr PGWP while a 2yr program amounts to a 3yr PGWP, which is enoungh to apply for a PR.

N.B: if there is no substantial or concrete convincing reason of doing a Diploma after a first degree, then opting for a PGD/C will be advisable.

You will get a 1yr visa. Normally, programs stating 1yr runs for 8 months. So the visa is issued beyond this duration to allow proper preparation to leave Canada. The reason is because IRCC don't want anybody coming back to them saying they forgot their tooth brush.

All the best

Thank you @JustMellow

From ur explanation, two years post graduate diploma is better but we are just looking at the possibility that a 2year diploma course will require a higher POF, compared to a year certificate program. For instance, POF of 6m maybe fair enough to d VIO for a year program, compared to using that same fund for a 2 year diploma course.

But if fortunately, she was given a year visa for her 1 year certificate course, can she quickly apply for another course within that 4month that is left after completing d certificate course she came for?

Thank you

Pls, what student visa duration will she be given for either 2years diploma or 1 year certificate course.

Secondly, will she be permitted to apply for a work visa after the completion of her 2years diploma course or 1 year certificate course, depending on the one she finally chooses.

Finally, which is of a bigger benefit, 2years diploma or 1 year certificate course or both programs are indifferent in terms of additional benefits?

Pls house, I'm begging not to be referred to previous threads on my questions........ Pls what is the best way to get PNP, and how? I started this Express entry early 2015 but got discouraged because of ielts results. But I have now decided to start again before my wes expires in a few months time. I'm planning to rewrite ielts again very soon but when I calculated my crs score on the calculator (despite assuming I have outstanding results in ielts), my score didn't pass 420, (single, first degree, early 30's, no family ties in Canada, no additional point on any Canadian assessment like work or school).

Pls, what should I do? I'm seriously begging oooo

In addition, my sister is going to Dubai next month on a tourist Visa of 1 month so I would like her to attest her certificates just incase she is fortunate to get any employment offer before the expiry of the Visa, else she comes back home.

Pls I need suggestions from everyone on how she can utilise well the one month Visa to get a job before it expires.

What are the things she needs to do first before leaving Nigeria and the first thing to do after landing on uae soil?

What are the chances that she will get a good job within a month?

What kind of job is she likely to get first at least to extend her stay genuinely and how much is the salary likely to be?

Thank you all.

Travel / Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by slimmsyyetty: 12:16pm On Apr 15, 2019
Snowflake23:
Hi, I plan to go visit my boyfriend of 2 years for 2 weeks he is sponsoring everything and also a German native . Right now I am not doing anything cause I am studying German, How do i go about it I need tips on the interview and application

I will ask you some questions for you to know if it will be possible for you to get your visa because in issuing a schengen visa, most times third person status e.g the person inviting you or your legal adviser can not be put into consideration but your present economic and family ties:

1) You said you are not doing anything but just learning German: is that what you will fill in your schengen application form and also them tell them during your interview? NUMBER ONE ERROR

2) Since you are not working presently, I will assume you do not have any source of income, so how will you defend your present source of income during the interview? or even if you have money in your account (perhaps your bobo is sending you Euro), how will you then defend the source of the money in your account? ERROR NUMBER TWO

3) Will you tell them during your interview that the person inviting you is your boyfriend? grin YOU DARE NOT! CAPITAL ERROR NUMBER THREE.

4)One of the major reasons why embassy has denied me twice was because they said I am still single and childlesss (I am not in my twenties oo) and I do not have any care responsibilities, so if you are likewise single and childless presently, and worst still you are under 30 years, ERROR NUMBER 4.

Do you know what I will tell you my dear if you want to hear the truth, YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY!

Listen to my suggestion:

Do not rush to apply now. there are so many things you need to work on. It is better for you to be patient and apply successfully than to rush and mess up things, so tell me if you wont still have to undergo the 'waiting period' you impatiently avoided.

There is nothing you can do to change your family ties status i.e being single and childless ( I am assuming these for you grin), but you can work on your economic ties even though it is still a 50-50 thing

1) Genuinely claim you are doing something, either self employed or working as an employee (with meaningful salary ), but mind you for any document you submit, you must submit a document to back it up and embassy will verify them

2) if you are claim you are an employee, then get ready to submit your original letter of introduction from your employer, leave letter from your employer, employment contract and payslips of the last three months ( I will suggest you submit six because embassy may later tell you to bring the past six months of your payslip), original bank statements of the last three months (only stamped and signed bank statements are accepted). Also, I will suggest you submit six months too because when I wrote an appeal letter after the second denial, embassy now told me to bring my bank statements for the past six months till date.

3) if you claim you are self employed, you will submit: Certificate of your CAC, Memorandum and Articles of association/ Company and Allied Matters Act, (you will only submit this if this is applicable to the nature of your CAC business name registration type), Federal Inland Revenue Service Tax Clearance Certificate/Company income tax Clearance certificate of the past year (you also submit this if this is applicable to the nature of your CAC business name registration type), your personal bank statements and company bank statements of the last three months- (I will suggest you submit six months)

4) Also how you will be able to convince them thoroughly that you will return before the expiry of your visa is another factor.

5) How you will defend the relationship between you and the person inviting you, but please i strongly advise you not to tell them he is your boyfriend

6) Lastly, I hope the person inviting you did not in a 'cunny' way got his papers, I mean if embassy should check his status on their system, I hope he did not use visiting visa to 'cunnyly' maneuver his stay because that will affect you seriously.

This is my little kobo, and I hope it helps.
