That's gotta be a very stong IF,we can no longer afford the kind of profligacy he exhibited in front of goal against Burnley, not at this stage of the battle
I think we just have to accept that day was sooo ridiculous hence it means its not exactly the stuff he's made of. He scored a hat trick the next game.

There was a 40-1 offer of Bendtner scoring a hat trick against Porto, I bet whoever made those calculations would have been fired now after the winnings the betting house would have had to shell out. How can you put 40-1 on someone who had 3 goals in 3 matches and who had a billion chances in a previous match? I guess they thought it was funny. Well who's laughing now?

Bendtner puts himself in positions to score, as long as he keeps doing that the goals we keep coming. Now consider the fact that on a average he spends more time in the middle of the field (fact) than in front of goal then you realize how hard he works for getting into position and for the team in general.

Why do we keep geting all this late away games?

rasputinn:
The Hull and Birmingham games are very key to our EPL title quest,we need the six points first to further boost our morale and put those scumtwats and shekpe chavs under real pressure so they'll capitulate and drop even more points than I've calculated they will

But first things first,Hull comes first on Saturday,I'd like to see the line up we used against Porto last Tuesday,Diaby really impressed me in that deep role he played.
There a few doubts oh, Sagna, Campbell, Rosicky, fingers crossed it all misplacd worries. At least in this run in we deserve a change of luck with injuries.

Cesc is definitely out, so its Nasri in middle again. No shaking!!!! Sylvestre played well against Hull the last time out albeit at home, well he should be up to the task abi.

v3 from my POV yesterday Bendy did nothing wrong. Even Drogba has a heavy first touch doesnt mean he is not a good striker. He put himself about yesterday winning balls and closing defenders down. Even earning himself a yellow in the process. I see him more in the mould of Dzeko/Ruud than the fleet footed strikers Torres type although he does beat his man at times.

And to pull a Sauron on ya'll: 5 goals in 4 games, the kid has 120% returns in percentage. He shits on bla bla bla, u know the rest.

Definitely still needs to work on his technique, but in the bigger picture, we've got the real deal in our hands and I dont for a moment doubt it.

Prince TKB, if I were you, I wouldn't sleep with both eyes shut at night. Word in the secret places amongst the upper echelons is that the Mallams in the north have been imported to Lagos State to drive Okadas erractically and purposely to maim the South and render them limbless, disabled, etc, that it is CHEAPER THAN PLANTING LANDMINES ALL OVER LAGOS STATE, I HEARD tongue tongue tongue
If in doubt, visit Igbobi Hospital cheesy grin cheesy
Ha ha ha ha ha, considering the fact they too end up being maimed i think this should be refered to as 'amputcide' Ha ha ha ha!!!!

Anybody saying this kind of thing can never happen in Ibadan is not aware of the extent emotions can rise when religion is concerned. People will go from a simple misundestanding of Jesus is the Son of God to Allah said we should kill imbeciles. Haba!

There have been more people killed in the name of God than under natural causes.

Why dont you let what you believe be what you believe and leave it at that. Now I'm beginnin to understand the rationale of people who doubt the existence of God.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Is Zidane Overrated? Is He Better Than Ronaldinho? by slimshay(m): 12:57pm On Mar 09, 2010
Zizou overated?  shocked shocked shocked Responding to things like this sounds disrespectful to me.

Anyways to the comparisms, i just get the feeling people are more taken in with trickery in football than technique. Just like mentioning Dennilson who dribbles everybody on the pitch and ends up at the corner flag.

Zidane had far more immense technical ability to any player in this generation.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (In Arsenal We Trust) by slimshay(m): 12:46pm On Mar 09, 2010
After saturday's performance Nasri will defnitely be playing through the middle. Im guessing Diaby alongside Song will be starting and Dennilson goes back to the bench. We need to set the tone of the match from the word go.

Im backing Bendtner to definitely score.

Porto will be massing their third hoping waiting for a break with their quick wingers. So I'm expecting Sagna rather than Eboue on the right side of defense.

Diaby and Song have to work a bit extra if Arsha starts, cos we all know his defensive deficiencies.

All in all we'll be getting quite a balanced team tonite. I dont expect Porto to sit back all game, cause as it goes, we always hammer them when they miss their road to London.

Me for one hopes he is able to improve as a player but I still suspect the boy might just
end up in a Sunderland or Villa or Everton, teams that will overlook his limited teamplay for his
undoubted natural pace.
Ha, hope you no take offense oh. Was refeering the chris waddles and english plundits.

Neways do i expect the same scintillating performance from Theo in the next game? Trythfully i am not anticipating same. It is the hallmark of youth and on-off injury players seeking form that you will have inconsistent performances. If he puts in another man of the match performances i will be quite surprised but elated non the less. What i will continue to harp on though is his abilities. He's got them aplenty.

Theo in sunderland them them? Limited team play? Did you see that match at all?

@Debo, it might be on and off really, but im banking on the fact that very soon his bad days will be the exception rather than the rule.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (In Arsenal We Trust) by slimshay(m): 8:29am On Mar 08, 2010
And the 'mystery' about the celebration is unraveled wink

Arsenal midfielder Theo Walcott has explained that his goal celebration against Burnley, which involved pointing to an imaginary watch on his wrist, was an attempt to dodge a fine for missing the team bus. "I was late for the bus the night before, so that's why I was pointing to a watch," he said. "I probably will get a fine but I'll take it. I shouldn't be late but I just got caught in traffic. Maybe it will be forgotten about now!"

Debo how far, havent we reached another milestone? Less than ten matches to go and things look more than interesting.

A while back there was a very short debate as to who was the man of the match on saturday. Personally I feel man of the match goes beyond just the performance in those 90mins. Usually it will be colored by events before it.

The reason i will give Walcott man of the match over an awesome performance by Nasri in CM is really because of the level of criticism he endured for days before his performance in that game. If not for Pinkie and his nemesis Jensen, he would easily have bagged a hat trick of assists to add to his goal on the day. And that from a player who some idiots labelled had no footballing brain?

Why you guys bothering to argue with Gayleather, abeg free the guy. Where were all of them who are now talking bollocks when the boy was running rings round establish 'world class' defenders. When he was putting the yellow submarines out of commission. Dividing liverpool's red sea? Abegi!!

Debo I saw what you wrote. Chop knuckle, Walcott should forget the world cup. The pressure to deliver so that he is on that plane to SA must be messing wit the boy's confidence. Its just like when he came back from injury and he was already trying to be man of the match with trickish runs and kept on running into dead ends.

He should keep his head up and do the simple things for now. Gradually his confidence will come back to him. You dont leave 5 liverpool player in your wake to square an inch perfect assist if you dont have a football brain.

Dudu there is starting a debate and there is posting the criticism of a Spud about Theo (this i found out on Arseblog today). I couldnt give tuppence. . .apologies mumu Pulis. We know Theo's shortcoming but I wont be hearing it from a tiny. Its like Alan Hansen criticising a Vermaleen buy. I couldnt give 2 f-U-ck-s about what they have to say.

I have seen enough to know that Theo has what it takes to be both a good winger and even better striker. What he needs now as I've said before is to forget this England thing and even forget becoming a star thing (which he already is) and jsut focus on football basics. Just doing well for Arsenal week in, week out. Obviously he's bad with handling performances related pressure.

And as a foot note definitely you must have read the famous quotes of Myles Palmer about how the great Titi is never going to be a goal scorer.

Pre M.I, it was inconceivable that a Nigerian rapper could be lyrically inclined and entertain at the same time.
At least that's what everyone thought.

Then came Mr Incredible . . . with 30,000 copies in 30 minutes . . . that ratio is probably better than Rick Ross' Deeper than Rap.
When M.I says he's the Naija Rap Messaiah, we know he's telling the truth.

He's like Blueprint 3 to Nigerian hiphop, his impact on the industry left it beyond recognition.

Well then unto more important things, who and who are taking part in the internationals for this break? I hear Fab is playing against Italy, abeg keep him away form Chiellini oh. It will be an injustice of heavenly proportions to have another player out again.

Walcott has been called up for England. Hmmmm. Im not so sure on that one, but as far as im concerened he needs as many matches as can get. I just hope he at least puts the world cup in reserve of his mind and just focus on his game, the pressure doesnt seem to be doing him any good. That said he seems to be improving sha.

Midfield at least for the next 2 games without Song now reads. . .Cesc, Dennilson, Diaby, Nasri, Rosicky, Eastmond I'm thinking we have enough in there to get past Burnley at home and Hull away.

Taking this thing one at a time will work just fine.
