Uniport...... There are factors that determine how fast you go, not necessarily the sch. Factors such as the speed of the student & colleagues in the dept and the dept itself. Economics dept in Uniport will run with you if you are running and walk with you if you are walking. But dept like accounting, management and pol sci are quite slow to me. I also saw someone in geophysics who is graduating 8years after.
Its necessary to get information on the dept you intend applying to so you can make valid decision.

That is why i believe PDP winning lies in the hands of the south east willing to trade the VP slot for speakership to win the presidency in 2019. Along side the speakership slot, south east can also compensated with ministerial appointments as well. PDP have a huge task on their hand in terms of begging and persuading the south east to make the sacrifices in other for the party to win in 2019. The target is to split buhari stronhold which is the north and the west, the central is already tillting towards the SS/SE, the saraki factor is playing a role already. PDP can not allow buhari to win block votes in the south west or the game is over for them. PDP really need to strategize properly to take buhari out, because as it is now his political reputation is already limping. Proper strategy will finish him at the polls. Anything other than that buhari will coast to victory. I would even recommend jimi agbaje for the VP slot in the south west, since he is a very likable person in the south west, east and south.

Jimi may not be a good choice. If only Fashola will use his head, become VP to Atiku, the votes in the west will be divided. You need someone that is popular in the west

If APC had asked Saraki to resign since he was elected under the party that's just being democratic. But ofcourse so many politicians are undemocratic and this is not new that Saraki doesn't want to step down.

Point is, there are bigger issues that matters to APC than Saraki. Infact, he doesn't have a political future in this coming election.... Why?

If picked by PDP as Presidential candidate, he cannot garner 1/4 of Buhari's total votes. That's a landslide winning

So what does 2019 holds for Saraki? It's unfortunate that as calculative as he presented himself, he's not seeing his massive failure in PDP except he wants to go back to Kwara and be elected Governor but at federal level, NOTHING!

Trust me, the political permutation is more than what u have written here.. Saraki is not interested in the presidency, at least not now.
The primary aim presently is sending the herdsman back to his cattle.

The PDP and opposition are not acting up to half of what the APC did when they were in opposition.
They are failing in their media onslaught against the tyrant government.

Why neglecting oil producing communities in the Niger delta regions.

Is it not time we start investing in Agriculture?

Is it not time we start investing in Solid Mineral sector.

The federal government under the NNPC wasted cash resources searching for oil in the northern states untill they were frustrated by boko haram and other exigencies.

We failed to make efficient use of the crude oil money that the western countries ( British, Dutch, American, Italian, French etc ) was contracted to drill for Nigeria for a period spanning over 40 years.

Now we want to go the way of China to come and drill our crude oil for us.

Chinese are not as honest as the western countries and we should be very careful the way we do business with them.

But my take here is that we should focus on Agriculture.

A well developed Agriculture system will create employment to a large segment of Nigerians than crude oil exploration that will feed the pockets of a greedy few politicians in high places.

But how will a young man invest in agriculture that is capital intensive

One week to professorial promotion, his village people have succeeded!

They should just concession it to private sector otherwise this won't last beyond 9months

Thank you. I recently applied for such position in a South African university, though the responses I've received are: my field is not their area of expertise, write to the HOD to appoint a mentor.
I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong, cos it requires one lecturer to mentor, I wrote to all the lecturers.

The postdoctoral fellowship has two-way aim/goal; one directed towards the Postdoc or fellow and the second is towards the benefit of the host. What this position means varies depending on countries and institutions.

For the Postdoc:
The Fellowship is crafted for the postdoc to strengthen, refine and expand the postdoc skills in specific areas of research techniques, enhancing specific analytical skills or acquiring novel skills. The overall or ultimate goal is for the fellows to develop the skill set required to pinpoint novel high impact areas of investigation and then obtain resources to pursue answers to these questions.

So what are the common reasons that scientists or recent PhD graduate seek for Postdocs?
There are many reasons but I will just point to few I can personally relate to.

1. For many PhD graduates, they couldn't find a satisfactory job that meets their education level. For some, they know that a postdoc (or even multiple postdocs) are necessary to eventually run their own lab.

2. For some, they lack competitive research experience during their PhDs, hence want to advance or could not publish top-quality academic papers or do not have increasingly demanding skills in the job markets. Hence, tend to enhance themselves.

3. For some, it is the formative experiences that plant the seeds for a lifetime of discovery and adding it to their CV makes them more competitive.

4. For some, to make money and to acquire new skills or to change the field of their research.

For the Host:
Postdoc research is usually considered important while advancing the scholarly mission of the host institution; it is expected to produce relevant publications in peer-reviewed academic journals or patents. In some countries/universities, postdoc research may lead to further formal qualifications or certification, while in other countries it does not. Particularly, in the western countries like the USA, a postdoc fellow engage in mentored research or scholarly training for the purpose of acquiring the professional skills needed to pursue a career path of his or her choosing. This position may lead to tenure for the fellow in the host institution. In most cases, the postdoc positions are paid either by the funding from the principal investigators or the host universities/labs/industries.




The postdoc positions are usually advertised by the university, the website of the principal investigator, in academic media like Mendeley.com, Researchgate, Nature jobs, Jobs in UK, Harvard Postdoc Jobs etc, Some like Turkish Government offers the position yearly funded by the government to support local and international applicants, some like Canadian Universities or Czech Repub universities search for postdoc yearly as part of scholarly missions.

To apply for Postdoc these days is very competitive. The applicants must possess some of these:

1. Have relevant skills that are directly close to the advertised postdoc positions.

2. Have high-level competitive skills majorly based on internationally acceptable published papers of good quality (SCI/SSCI/AHI) and suitable impact factors.

3. Demonstrate the ability to undertake the advertised project backed with verifiable previous experiences in the field of research

4. Sound statement of research that aligns with the goals and mission of the host or principal investigator.

5. You have novel and sustainable modern ideas that will warrant you to be funded

I benefitted from the Turkish Government funded Postdoc and my research was funded for almost 15 million naira at that time and I was receiving around 500k naira monthly inclusive of publication cash award. The major issue is finding host university and having novel ideas that will warrant the host to accept you.

car is near death

I bought my 2002 RX at 150k milage four years ago and have never had any issue with the car. I have refilled AC only twice in the past four years and changed the battery once from the original carry come Lexus sealed battery to a normal battery. The car is already on 208k millage and still no issue. Though with very regular expensive maintenance. I bought cos I saw and confirmed that the mileage was not tampered with..
