SalamRushdie: There was nothing Ill advised about naming Unilag after Abiola except the fact that whole APC and South West were bent on embarrassing Jonathan at every turn so even of he had made June 12 MKO abiola they would have still protested ... we all remember how when Jonathan removed subsidy the South West led the protest against him but yet we're quiet when Buhari removed subsidy and increased fuel price to 145 and then secretly re -intoduced subsidy 3 times more at 1.4 trillion naira without budgetary provision yet the South West is quiet ... What do u think about the students in unilag, a federal university that vehemently opposed the renaming of the sch? |

Back to the topic, I've been telling your likes to come down to Nigeria and stop hiding in the US/Europe and instigating violent.
I don't see reason why Muslim artists won't be producing songs in Christian attire. Leave ISLAM alone as we Muslim won't tolerate anything to paint our religion back. Let FALZ or whoever pass their message without bringing Islam into it. We won't take it from anyone.
Even if our fellow Muslim commit blasphemy, we won't accept it. Strange as it sounds, the only person, group of persons, countries or communities painting Islam bad are Muslims. Short and simple! |

princfred: That is wrong of them so should christians emulate them? Christians are not emulating them, rather they are the ones trying albeit weakly to emulate us. There is not missionary university that is profit driven in it registration. Every revenue raised in the missionary sch, is plunged back to the sch because investment in education never ends. I'm running a doctorate program in Uniport and I had to visit a lecturer at covenant university for clarification. In a chat with the lecturer, she said she was lured from a university in the UK, and cannot work in a govt funded university in Nigeria. The one week I spent in covenant I did not see power go off. |

kennypoka2: What's your point?? Now, did the missionaries build universities when they came here? No Is it cheap to run a university? No Is there any cheap private university (by your standards) on the surface of the earth? No. So tell me, what miracle do you want the churches to perform to make the universities "free"? Do you expect lecturers to teach and not demand salary? Or will you be willing to work as a lecturer in the sch for next to peanuts? Do you expect cleaners to clean and not demand salary? Do you expect the university to order infrastructure and not pay for it? Do you expect them to receive their 24/7 electricity for free? Please tell me, what plan do you have that can make a full fledged university free? Tell us this your brilliant idea that no one on earth has ever thought of before so that we can set one up. |

I guess we should leave the mosque alone too.. Your type are the problem of Nigeria, you don't want us to talk about the exorbitant amount they charge but u will want us to talk about bad government. Lemme ask you, the missionary that brought the church how much did they charge the schools they brought? And do you think Jesus wouldn't have preached against it? What is the essence of missionary school if the poor and down trodden can't afford it. Can we form our own church and then open it for the poor and down trodden? Can we plan this? So that we can make a difference? |

Falz is simply following the foot step of his talkative father lambasting the schools owned by churches.
OK, Madonna, Covenant, Redeemers and others are schools for the poor, no school fees. All comers affairs, when the standards begin to fall, because it surely will without funding, Falz and his father will still be the one to say churches have no business running schools because they cannot maintain one, they will even say the govt should take it offer.
How do u attract quality lecturers , will they all come to do charity and teach for free?? A Professor in a Federal University is paid between 500-700k depending on the department, and each department has a set number of lecturers that must be in its employ depending on the size of the sch before accreditation by NUC, if you think it is easy, you will wonder why even govt funded universities fail to get accreditation.
All man to his tent, go sch where your pocket reach. |

izzou: We are talking about Falz and his opinion. You should know Falz was talking our Nigerian pastors and not Harvard or Yale. I don't know why you keep bringing Harvard into this. Or you want to compare Harvard to mediocre universities like Madonna or Redeemers that still charge millions of naira for nothing?
And you guys feel it's not the church's responsibility to create jobs. I totally agree. But it's the church's responsibility to take almost a million from me a session, because they want to impact godly principles into me? Wonderful.
I wish I had time to reply your mentions. I want to hit the road soon. Falz is wrong because it's not his business, just as it isn't mine. But the springing up of universities everywhere by churches shows its not longer an issue of godly principles. It's about the money Dude, can you do us all a favour and attend a govt funded university? |

I got a full time admission in UI , while I work in a bank on a full time basis I'm confused right now, cos my boss anly approve 2hours lectures in a week, when I have Monday to Thursday classes .. I don't no if attending a 2 hours class, I can still maintain a good grade in sch while I still work Are u a marketer? Do you work in Ibadan? If yes, then u can only pray that your manager understands, and also u need to have good relationship with other marketers in ur branch so that they can cover u up when ur attention is need, its not easy at all but if u have a goal and determination you will be fine. At the masters level, I tried to go to lectures esp when the lecturer is very strict and u know as a marketer I can drive out of the office with my own car under the pretence of going for a call. |

mamapidgin: the best masters program to do for someone working is to do a part-time masters program except u do ur job online, where u don't need to go to work on daily basis, anywhere with internet facility is ur workplace, u can run a full time master program successfully.
I know a computer scientist that is about to start his PhD now after d successful completion of his masters full-time. and he is still gainfully employed online. I work in a bank, I did my MSC and just finished my PhD working in the bank. I'm trying to make my next career move now, which is leaving the banking sector. Every is determination, stress? Yes I've gone through stress of combining schooling and being a marketer in a bank with grey hair to show for it this past six years |
