For the records: You didn't get a slap because you were a lady or a female.
Rather it came as a result of you were using your feminism as an edge to downgrade someone whom his profession doesn't recognizes gender...
There's nothing these people respect more than POLITENESS and from all indications, you didn't show any sign of it and hence it earned you the slap...
