take it as a service to humanity. NYSC and govt might ve forgotten about you but the people/community that benefited from dis project wont.
dont discourage ur siblings, they might be luckier than you.
My dear, you are right. The people still call to express gratitude and offer me prayers, which gives me the fulfilment I long for. beyond the prayers and gratitude, are testimonies of how well some of them are doing with the skills they learnt. The thoughts of it alone is all I need and not one silly recognition from any government or nysc.
But for my advice to anyone, that I think will still be on the discouraging side unless the person is demn determined.

Pls how can I do sometime like this too, I'm serving @ Ilesha and things are not easy here. Thumbs up cc @yokiti @crazyman

My dear, if my advice counts, I will say "don't try yourself". If you did not plan it out before you went for service, don't try to start it when you are there. You will only get frustrated and discouraged.
Personal project is a journey, if you did not do a prior plan, don't jump into it. Nysc will not tell you at the beginning, all they want is that, in their tenure of service it should be on records that during their time this and that projects were carried out, they don't send you afterwards. Nija don spoil, e no be as easy dey b4

nice one bro! but when u look at all d projects,it was done with money....dis guy might be d son of a rich man and he knows people dat can fund him.
you might say cant a poor man with a brilliant idea solicit for funds to do a project in his lg? yes he can . but getting this people to listen to dat idea is d problem.
with this, the guy might bag a national award...automatic scholarship for masters, automatic employment in a ministry.

o fi owo ra ola

My dear believe me, it does not work that way anymore. Automatic employment ke, scholarship masters ni, where? In Nija? Nija is corrupt and so is her system. My project came 3rd state best, but the girl whose project came 1st, did not even get a part-time job not to talk of a job. I won't allow a sibling, relation, friend and any of my children to carry out anything project if I am to advice. The moment you pass out no body remembers your name again, you vanish in their memories like the smell of fart. My dear, I no fit shout ohhhhh walahi!

Honestly d guy really try. But if I can remember NYSC law says that no corper should use his personal money for any community service. I will be glad to know how he source for all the money he used on those projects.

My dear, NYSC is corrupt now, all they are looking for is who will help them and the community fix up their mess, they don't wanna know how you sourced your funds. They will only enquire to know if you can finish the project once you start it. No body gives a hud about how you raise your funds. I have been there broo and I did everything with my money, got an award and only 20k for a project I spent 867k. The only thing that kept me strong was the fact that I did all of that out of passion.

Community development projects are not supposed to be carried out with personal funds but strictly with funds sourced from members of the community or NGOs. Any thing outside this will not attract any Award for the Corp Member thanks. If you doubt me pls endeavour to ask the guy if he really used his money in executing the projects.
1000 Gbusaa to the ajuwaya for a job weldone.
Thanks.

2. Empowerment of Women on baking

3. Donation of Mosquito to Pregnant Women and Nursing Mothers
Is it about carrying out a personal project? What happens afterwards? An award, 20k and no job? Does it worth the project stress?
I carried out a personal project during service year, spent 867k just to get 20k from NYSC and an award that can't fetch you a cup of water, even when my project came 3rd best in the state. No job and nothing. Does it worth carrying out a project? if not that I did what I did out of passion. 1st, 2nd and 3rd were all given the same amount and yet year in, batch out, NYSC will be forcing people to carry out projects when they know they don't have a working system. There is God oh!
But all the same, I wish him all the best.

@op, the painful truth whether you like it or not is that the guy has trekked himself to fame and popularity.

It may be be he took some quick one in between states distances, but the fact now is that he is recognized.

Secondly, i will not argue with him because just like every other dream, nobody know you at your starting point, people only claim relationship when they see you approaching success and that includes that of this guy.

No one heard of him when he started and through the west until he came into the north, i think its because people thought he was insane or may not make it. He has made it now, pple are now blabbing.

For me, whether he trekked or not, fame and recognition has caught up with him, if e pain you, Hug Transformer.

Please oh, just thinking aloud. Is who ever offering this job opportunity serious?

No 2. Short time engagement for professional trainers: Are you interested in taking up a temporary job as a trainer (facilitator). Candidates must possess a minimum of BSc in Management Science or other related/relevant field, with at least 6 years post service experience.

Short term engagement... with at least 6 years post service experience?

Do you expect an individual to work else where for over 6years, just to leave his / her job for something temporal?

It should be a part-time stuff or should last longer.

No hard feelings oh! am just thinking aloud.

Tricky. It's deflating to take your sweetheart to your parents only for them to reject them for one weighty or weightless reason. But then, advice from parents especially godly ones shouldn't be taken carelessly. My dad is someone whose advice I can never throw away cos he does hear from God and he is also odogwu( expert) in life issues. My sweet mom however fit wan make you marry one body like that cos he dey grease her palm and cupboard regularly.....wink its hard. I pray God and both my folks approve my future husband o.

Amen oh babe. God will help us dear. But like you said, it's deflating and heartbreaking. But the truth is if their reasons are genuie, just let go and with time you will get over it. How is your Easter celebration coming?
Romance / Re: How Many Ladies Or Guys Have You Slept With In Your Lifetime? by SmartFaces(f): 1:55pm On Apr 05, 2015
Sharmeenator:
It's a question that often prompts a boastful response or a bashful one. A recent survey done in the US, using high-tech methods to solicit candid answers on sexual activity finds that 29 percent of American men report having 15 or more female sexual partners in a lifetime, while only 9 percent of women report having sex with 15 or more men.
Back here in Naija, there's no record that shows the number of women or men a Nigerian man or women respectively have slept with in their lifetimes. This got me curious! I asked some of my close friends and some reportedly claimed to have lost count while some gave figures above 20. Personally, the last time I counted, I have gone down low with at least 17ladies. How many girls have you slept with and what do you think is the ideal number of sexual encounters for a man or a woman? Just curious!
PS:
This is meant to be fun and informative, so please back off if you intend to throw hypocritical stone at me cos I will wickedly oblige undecided

Like seriously, you are not serious, you are funny and i don't envy you. How on earth do you think any naija person can give a truthful answer to your curious question? If you asked this same question abroad, i sure trust you will be given truthful answers... but in naija, sure NO.

You dey sound as if the thing no dey sweet you. Brother Sharmeenator! But for me, i can't say?

All the same, i wish you the very best in your findings. Laughing out very loud. LOVL!!!
Career / Re: Help A Brother In Distress by SmartFaces(f): 1:07pm On Apr 05, 2015
Op and Laplace12, it's not enough reason for you to e-fight. please, e no reach. you both are right.

@op, laplace12 wants you to identify what makes you happy or fulfilled and that is not bad if i was asked.

All you need do is check out for other things that makes you fulfilled in life... like your destiny, passion, area of calling, life's vision which must not be necessarily academics. there are cases of people's life purpose or vision tallying with their academic dreams and career. but in most cases they are two different things.

So you should and must identify it, which is the first step to finding happiness.

If you find it, you can now, start pursuing it even while running your academic career (nursing) that is if you don't want to switch or start afresh.

you will agree with me that most great people we have been hearing of, are actually great outside there academic career. So what matters most is what i call "SELF-DISCOVERY", cos that is happiness and fulfillment starting point.

You feel unhappy because you have not yet identified your potentials or discovered yourself.

Happy Easter dearie.

You will also need to be coached physically. This trainer is available in Lagos. Send a mail to valsworth005@gmail.com

Valsworth is also right. You need a physical coach. you can get a person who is enlightened in such areas, ask for his or her help. A mentor will also do. He or should should be able to guide you accurately at all times and during your presentations.
Career / Re: I Have A Challenge With Public Speaking by SmartFaces(f): 12:43pm On Apr 05, 2015
First i must commend your strength to share your short coming.

Just like someone earlier said, everybody must not be a pastor or a public speaker, but when you find yourself in such position, you need work on yourself.

1. Get some books on leadership and public speaking.

2. Days to your presentation, practice practice practice.

3. Get a close friend or two, let them listen to you, analyze and criticize your performance before the D-day.

4. Pray to God about that situation in faith... there nothing he can't do.

5. Look for and identify your area of calling, what i mean is "what destiny has designed for you" Every individual on earth has where God had called him to function, such that if you are not functioning there, you may seem to experience this feelings or have things difficult.

6. While you are working, have your life's purpose at the back of your mind and in little or no time, you will see things work out for you.

Don't worry, God will see you through.

For me it make the person looks stupid...as i wonder what his or her problem is.

For me, one way i handle it is by keeping silent for long while. I won't say a word to anyone and won't allow it show on my face until i am able to sort myself out.

For people who don't know how to handle anger, for them, they tend to transfer aggression and trust me, no 2 basically happens.

you are right dear. Happy Easter.
