I find myself facing a difficult situation in my marriage and would greatly appreciate your insights and advice. The issue at hand revolves around my wife's unwillingness to listen to me. I'm at a loss as to why she behaves this way, and it's starting to take a toll on our relationship.

To provide some context, my wife has a strong-headed personality, which often leads to conflicts between us. No matter how gently I communicate my concerns or requests, she seems to disregard them and even does the opposite. This behavior frustrates me and leaves me questioning our compatibility.

One possible explanation I've considered is her background as an orphan. She lost her parents at a young age and had to take on the responsibility of caring for herself and her siblings. While I understand the challenges she faced, it seems like her self-reliance has translated into a resistance to accepting input or guidance from others, including me.

At this point, I have contemplated divorce, but there's a significant factor holding me back: our children. I love them deeply and cannot bear the thought of being separated from them. As much as her strong-headedness affects me, I firmly believe that domestic violence is never an option.

I'm reaching out to this community for reasonable opinions and advice on how to navigate this situation. Have any of you experienced a similar dynamic in your relationships? OP earns N450k/month with no skills by his admission. So what's your take on that? Who cares about those making N450k or more pay month. The difference is that they have the requisite skills.

Your expenses will always grow quickly to match your income. Many people in Nigeria will see N450k/month as a windfall.

I know people who make N400k/month with family and are surviving. Then I know a spinster in the Island who makes about N1.2m/month with no family and she is always complaining financially.

Go figure!

I don't believe a company is paying you N450k/month with no skills. It is fair to guess that you are engaged in an illegitimate enterprise.

My advice is for you to learn how to save.

Cut down your expenses, don’t spend recklessly, don’t compete with co-workers and don’t try to impress anybody (including women).

Rent an affordable apartment, start up a business.

(Don’t start building any house immediately, because it’s a liability). It will only tie your wealth in one spot.

Imagine building a house with 30-50m in Lagos, only to get at least 2m yearly as a rent. How long will it take to get back the capital

A House is a long term investment + retirement plan.

Start a business first!

With 33% unemployment, how many Nigerian graduates even have a paycheck? [/b]And as for bills, well methinks the time of CHEAP government subsidized living without bills is slowly coming to an end in Nigeria. Loans for University, electricity tariffs increasing, fuel prices doubled with no rise in salary. [b]And nobody is protesting or rioting, I guess everyone has learned the lessons of Occupy Nigeria in Jan 2012.

But....it is well. It will favor me and my family.

UK Japa is not what most people that have travelled to UK were expecting.

Things are really tough for most Nigerians in UK. Some of them that passed through the student route have to cough out several millions of naira to pay the school fees and will have to work extra hard to achieve this. You see them crying in the night that God please help me through.

Most goods and services have gone up times 5 in UK and with the recent increase in the interest rate over there it seems there won't be a breather yet.

On the flip side most Nigerians that migrated are doing it for their kids future and we hope things get better with time.

Wont lie with all my red pill knowledge i almost bought a girl a phone out of pity. Not really love cause i know it doesnt exist. Just pity cause she was bored and needed it for her side business.

Our short relationship ended cause i caught her cheating and i did a rough estimation of everything i spent on her and e noe reach 6k.

Now imagine i got her a phone or did stupid stuffs for her like renting a place for her (I almost did due to lack of funds). I would have been a mess.

There's this girl I met..
I sheepishly fell for her after few romantic calls from her
She's fair and pretty.
Then I decided to take her out today,she took a cab which I paid 2k. so we went to an eatery.. then I bought rice and chicken and some stuffs we ate..the bill was 13500, after we were done around 2:35 we left there, she said she wanted to go swimming I then took her to a fancy hotel with an Uber 3k.. on getting there she saw a guy she knew, they exchanged pleasantries which I didn't care about.. turns out that the guy came to swim as well...the swimming was 4k each for both of us.. that's 8k plus the swimming trunks I bought for her that is 3500k...so we freshened up and jump into the pool, i noticed she avoided me inside the pool, always wanting to play alone, and avoided me touching her then I left her on her own..and was swimming alone and having fun, I came back again for her to notice me, she still snubbed me...I left her alone and sat down near the pool when it was raining and there was this cold that pulled me down as I was shivering... meanwhile she was still inside the pool having fun all by herself... until this guy we met when we came.. went inside the pool..I then saw them interacting and I was annoyed..not until I saw him backing her and carrying her around inside the pool while they have fun... Not once not twice, she later came later came to me and ask if I was feeling cold I said yes she said sorry and went back inside the pool...to cut the story short, while I was sitting all by myself interacting with some guys, that guy she was playing with came and told me that my girl said that I was just a friend that he wanted to confirm himself, so he will know he's not offending anyone.. I felt like an idiot, as I went to the dressing room and put on my clothes and left scene looking foolish as she called me back..
On my way back home I bought magic moment vodka.. and drank myself to stupur
Am still high while typing these... What is the problem..I put on an expensive VL shirt with a jogger I bought 21k a slippers of 7k, I sprayed a very nice perfume. I have a very nice facial look...what was the problem if I may ask, I avoided girls like plague all my life and gave this one chance and she made me a fool, am only 23. I think I've learnt my lesson.. my deepest regrets was the whole money I spent, it should remained in my account.. girls fear my return.
