hmmm... Interesting analysis. Don't you think up to 5 players are needed. We don't have a reliable bench or academy. The season is really long. We need to plan for unforseen circumstances.

I don't agree we need up to 5 players. If we sign VVD, Lovren goes to the bench alongside Klavan, and Gomez which sounds like a good bench defensively. In the same vein, had Coutinho & lallana been available, Can and Wijnaldum alongside Grujic & Milner would have been a good midfield cover. If we sign another midfielder say someone like Keita, the bench will be made up of lallana, Wijnaldum, Can, Milner , & Grujic which looks strong enough.
In attack we have Mane, Salah and Firmino supported by DS15, Solanke, Origi, Ings, Woodburn and Kent (if he doesn't leave on loan). Looks strong as well for me.

It is first of all, a people problem, before it becomes a leadership problem cos the leaders emanate from the people.
