FamilyRe: In My 7 Years Of Marriage My Husband Has Never Complimented Me by smasher1(m): 12:49pm On May 15, 2021
Studio247:
Sometimes I wonder if it's normal or is just the man I married or there are men like this I have been married now for 7 years.

And for ones my husband has never complimented me in anyways.

The funny thing is people outside will appreciate and compliment me even before him but not the man I married no Matter how much effort I put into doing anything.

Several times I spoke to him about it
But he will flare up.

And for me I feel appreciating and complimenting.
Your partner makes them happy and give them the energy to do better.

I don't know
Although, what he did is not right, learn to understand him for who he is. He may never change, but learn to love him that way and disregard compliments, appreciation from others outside.

Or how do you expect a salary earner on 40k salary to save in this present Buhari economy
If you can't save with a small income, you'll definitely not save with a higher income. Get the savings culture today no matter the pay.

Garri used to be the cheapest commodity in Nigeria, now a whole day pay on construction site can't afford you garri.

Where I transported with N100 7 years ago, N500 can't take me there and back.

I wonder how civil servants with 5 kids coping, Nigeria is dying and the youths are quiet.

I heard them saying "even if a cup of garri is sold at 5k, God will still provide for his children".... You fail to realize that the only reason you are safe in your house or in your workplace is because there are still people out there who can afford garri. When we get to the stage whereby 90% can't no longer afford to buy a satchel pure water, then you'll realize what humans/animal first instinct is.

Let's all keep quiet, blame and wail without action and watch these folks who by nature all have less than 20/30 years max before they join their ancestors.

Our posterity will question us, just as we question our ancestors.
Imagine a civil servant wife pregnant for a fourth child! One I know of. But what do I know!

What tribe? The landlord is biased. The agreement was almost okay until the bolded part. I won't sign it

I would say it is quite hard to get lost anywhere when you have GPS enabled navigation maps (Like google maps, Bing Maps, Here WeGo, MapQuest, Waze etc).

However, lets assume that you do not have such a navigation device, or your phone battery is drained off, or worst of all these - you lost your phone...

Here's what you can do:

LAGOS

If you ever get lost in Lagos, just find your way to Oshodi, Berger, Ojota, Iddo or Jibowu, from these places, you can even get a bus going to Jerusalem.

IBADAN
In Ibadan find a bus to Iwo Road. From there, choose anywhere you are going on earth.

KADUNA

In Kaduna, just ask of Central Market (Kazuwa/Kasuwa - depending on your tongue), from there, you can take a bus to Jamaica.

ABUJA

In Abuja, find your way to Berger Roundabout, from there, ask for anywhere on earth. You will get a bus going there.

ONITSHA

In Onitsha, just go to Upper Iweka (pronounced as Oppy Iweka). You can even get a bus directly to Singapore.

CALABAR

In Calabar, simply find your way to Etim Edem Park, you can get to Iceland in seconds from there!

ENUGU

In Enugu, find your way to Holy Ghost Old Park. From there, even angels can take you to your destiny.

KANO

In Kano, find your way to New Road or Sabongari. You can take direct bus to Iraq from there.

PORT HARCOURT

In Port Harcourt, just find your way to Rumuola, Garrison, Mile 1, Lagos, Rumuokoro Roundabout or Waterlines. Even where planes cannot reach, you will get buses that go there from those places mentioned.

ILORIN

In Ilorin, find your way to Post Office or Taiwo Road. You can from these places enter Malaysia

BENIN

In Benin, find your way to Ringroad, New Benin, Iyaro or Oluku junction, you can get a bus that is heading to Italy directly.

YENAGOA

In Yenagoa, just go to Tombia Roundabout, believe me the rest will be history.

LOKOJO

In Lokoja, just find your way to Ganaja Junction, if you cannot find a bus going to where you are going in Ganaja Junction, then you are going nowhere.

UYO

In Uyo, take a taxi to Plaza, leave the rest of where you are going to the drivers.

JOS

In Jos, go to Terminus. From there, you can even get a bus to your destiny.

WARRI

In Warri, find a bus to Effurun Roundabout or Enerhen Junction. From there you will smile to anywhere you are going to.

AGBOR

In Agbor, find your way to Uromi Junction. The buses there can even take you to China without Visa.

OWERRI

In Owerri, just go to Control. They can even control you to ur destiny.

ILESHA

In Ilesha, just go to Roundabout, You can even get a bus directly to Los Angeles

IFE

In ife, just go to Lagere, You can even get a bus directly to California

OSOGBO

Just go to Oke fia, You can even get a bus directly to Manchester

Nairaland, kindly add your, this might be of help in future.

How much do you eat in a month? I don't calculate. But for me personally, anything between 30 to 50k or more. Let's use 30k for a year 360k. Over a year, do the maths. The man is not paying from his pocket, so he would over eat. I remember when I was in the university, I eat provisions from my roommate, girlfriend a lot. Today, my provisions would last for months because I'm paying for it, I also realized that I don't need to eat too much so I don't become over fat. Hope you understand my analysis and the woman is a business woman. So she evidently stock her house more than me a man.

bunto:
So true. That has been my observation as well.
Prices of goods have increased while cost of services has either decreased or remained stagnant. Increased competition is also a factor. Simple rule of economics, the lower the demand, the higher the supply, the lower the price. Moreso, Nigerians purchasing power has seriously declined due to the activities and lack thereof of the leadership.
In spite of the shape of the economy, our governors are still buying luxury cars, dashing taxpayers money to BB Naija contestants, gifting houses to celebrities ..... imagine such irresponsibility!

To be honest, these are trying times for humanity. Nigeria is moreso affected because we have a high consuming and low producing economy.

On a different topic....
Why doesn't Nairaland (Seun and his moderators) share stories from around the world on the front page?
It will go a long way in calming nerves. So many negative stories about Nigeria and Nigerians on the front page day after day, it's as if Nairaland is working with some elements to destroy the psyche of Nigeria youths. But if so....why?
Nigerians supported Seun for almost two decades, they don't deserve such treatment from this Forum.

Seun, you have a responsibility to other youths in this country. Do right by them. Just because you want traffic, you are going the way of Facebook. Remember, nothing last for ever.

Right now, there is fighting in Israel, Columbia, and a whole lot of other countries. Even France's Military is making threats of an impending civil war.
They no longer put foreign news. Even India is just flattening the curve on Wave 2 of Coronavirus. It's not been reported here making many Nigerians believe the world is normal whereas it's not. It's always tribal conflicts on Nairaland front page.

I really don't know where this topic fit in. But let me leave it here.

A professional service I charge N100k has not changed since 2017. It even diclined further due saturation and more people in the field, but yet everything has increased.

As at 2018, rubber of oil garri was N300 today N1500. Bottle of red oil N250 now N700. Cup of local rice was 50/60 now N120, cup beans that was 40/50 now N120. Bag of sechat water N100 now N170, electricity tarrif has tripped. Indomine hungry man N120 now N180. Transport fare of N50 now N100.

Cup of ogbono soup N300 now N600. I don't was to even talk of House. Now that Everything has increased my profesoonal and skill service hasn't increased. When I tried to add price people cried the courtry is hard oh and they will you there are many people even ready to do it for lesser price. People don't mind cutting off quality for reduce price.

Now the question is has your profit/salary/skills and professional job increased as of late? And If no. Then how have you been couping with this current things unfolding in the last 3-4 years.

Are you now poorer?

On Sunday, last two weeks my mom got a bank alert notification, someone sent her 3 million naira, she wasn't expecting money from anyone.

She was shocked, she called I and my younger sister. We couldn't believe it, so we waited for three days to see if the bank will reverse the money, they didn't, so I and my sister took our mom's ATM card to withdraw and test if the money was genuine.

We bought three phones from it. That's when we believed it was real. Then I transferred #50,000 to my bank and transferred #50k into my mom's other account which we used for foodstuffs.

On the fifth day the bank froze the remaining balance of the huge money sent. But no bank official or staff called my mom. That week passed, on the 3rd day of the second week, one lady called my mom by phone in the afternoon, she said her name is Sarah from so so bank.

My mom is not literate so they spoken in pidgin, she told my mom that she knows that my mom received a #3mil last two weeks and she has spent out of it. That the money was government money. Sarah told my mom to go to any nearest ........bank and write a mandate letter authorizing the bank to unfreeze the remaining #2mil in her acct and the bank will give us the beneficiary account which she will send the money back to. And we should return the money we spent out of it immediately.

When we got to my mom's bank, we went to customer agent area, instead of writing the mandate letter, we told the agent everything that happened leaving nothing untouched. the agent said we should give him the number of the staff that called us, when he called the Sarah with his phone, Sarah gave him another name, instead of introducing herself as Sarah, she said her name is Evelyn. She now told the agent to hold my mom down till she (Evelyn) gets to that bank to arrest my mom or whatever.

The agent said on what basis would he hold my mom down. The agent checked the description when the money was sent and he couldn't understand the description. He was saying how could this be government money. He told my mom to try and return the money spent and he told us to go.

The description on the transfer when it came in on Sunday was: "National Procurement of Scanners" #3million.

Is this truly a government money?

Nairalanders what are your opinions? Because my mom is scared, Sarah or Evelyn bullied her on the phone with jail time.

I don't know what to do.
You people are thieves spending money that doesn't belong to you
They would soon freeze the other accounts and maybe your BVN and you all could be arrested and prosecuted.

If you are a public/civil servant, you will understand that the FG/SG put the structure in such a way that you can never be that free to operate outside your office, except you are working under a ministry or agency that isn't that active...Like National population commission...Those people don't even go to work.... As a commissioner in that commission, you live like a church rat except you involve yourself into other fruitful activities....

Enough said.
I understand you. I've worked ten years in a financial institution and find it difficult having time for myself. By structures, I understand the salary may not be huge, but plan things like building etc within that time frame 40 to 50 or earlier if possible so that any benefits can be used to do other things like business etc and not be paid retirement benefits to start building etc.

You can only adhere to this if you receive your pension immediately after retirement and not many years after....
You plan to do all these before retirement. Perhaps around 40 years to 50 years. The retirement benefits would only compliment and solidify the structure you have put in place. Do this before retirement, you would be happy. I know people who are paid millions later and clearly confused on how to spend it. Why? No structure or plan on ground. And so they spend it without accountability.

REALITIES OF RETIREMENT

1) You are no longer popular in your office.
2) Avoid going to your former office without invitation. Where it's absolutely necessary inform an officer of your visit so that you can be received.
3) Know that not everyone liked you while at work & now have an opportunity to snob you.
4) Keep in touch with your coursemates as you grow in retirement because some Pharaohs in Egypt may not know your Joseph.
5) Attend celebration of coursemates. Its always a reunion with lots of fun.
6) Only a few of the people you assisted (including family members) will come around to see you often. To others you have nothing to offer.
7)Plan your days & follow your plan. Sometimes when you look at your uniform with all the medals, you have a feeling of emptiness. Get yourself occupied.
cool Traveling is great, visit places of interest and enjoy your travels.
9) Eat right, enjoy your meals but down excessive sugar, salt, fats and oils.
10) Do your medical check-up even when you feel healthy.
Enjoy your retirement.

NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH

Build your own house where you will live in your old age.
Build businesses that will feed you in your old age.

Create conveniences that will engage you in your old age.

Build friendship and goodwill that will serve you in your old age.

Right now, start to be relevant in your mosque or Church and community so you could be reckoned with in your old age.

* Old age could be very lonely and agonising for men who did not plan for it.
* May you not become a liability on your children in your old age.
* May your children not wish you an early death when they can't manage you again in your old age.

An old age without penny in your pocket is a slow, agonising death sentence!

Be warned now...!
There are three categories of people you cannot do without as we are growing older, your family, people in your place of worship and childhood friends, who include your Old School mates.

Friends, take it or live it, at 60 and above, loneliness kills because the children you are working hard for now will go their way to raise their own immediate families and pursue their own destinies, just as we did now. At that time it's these people in these 3- categories that take away loneliness and keep your company.

At 50 years and above, you have 10 to 15 years of active working life.

Respect friendship and value relationship.
Nice advice. May God give us wisdom to plan accordingly and be successful.

Hi guys,
I am here to speak my mind and the minds of thousands if not millions of other Glo users going through the same pain I go through.
As I am typing I just left a Glo office and branched at restaurant to eat.
I stay in Ibadan and I lost my sim late last year after I have linked my NIN to the sim.
I have been to virtually all Glo offices in Ibadan and it's the same story.

The PolyIbadan office like six times
The Challenge office one time
The Idiape office four times.

Just to retrieve a sim I lost despite having all the requirements for sim retrieval, it has not been possible.
My last visit today was at the Idiape office. We were told to come back after the Muslim celebration coming.

I have never seen a useless network as Glo in this Country.

They told me and many others that when we bought the sims years back, the background picture was not white, so we have to wait till God knows when.

How is that the fault of their customers?
How senseless and stupid are they saying this trash and keeping people away from using their sims. When many use it for business.
And bad thing about it is you can't port the number until you retrieve it.

Other Network providers are already doing sim replacements easily and here is an indeginous network saying trash.

I wrote their head office and I was replied through the Email that due to the fact that it was not white background that is on their computer data page, the sims have to be re-registered. Okay reregister and give us our sims. They say we have to wait.

This is my online business sim I use for Amazon and Payoneer. I have not been able to transact business on my Amazon account since last year, I have money to withdraw on Payoneer and I can't. I need to take care of my family I can't.

Slow browsing, senseless policies and poor customer service.

On getting my sim back, it won't take me two days before porting to Airtel or MTN.

Pls help helpless Nigerians push to front page.
Glo is the worst company that behaves like Civil service. I'm in Yenagoa, Bayelsa. I have been to the offices of several telecom companies here for several years. It's only Glo office that would tell you they don't have network. Like PHCN telling you no light in their office. You go on Saturday by 10, RESUMPTION time and the only staff resumes after eleven. I know other telecom companies are lazy like Airtel doing it as if you are disturbing them. I pray not to lose my sim as this companies have no compassion. I just see them all as lazy Civil servants although working for private companies.
