Banished from...where? When? I have met tons of Ozalla people who firmly refer to themselves, as Ora. So your story is rather illogical. Some of them trace their town's origin to a son of Oba Ozolua.

I said according to history Prince Uguan banished a son he had who later founded ozalla clan.
Prince Uguan was the father of OraEkpen whose sons established the six clans of ora namely Ohia Ora,ovbiokhuarin Ora,Evbiobe Ora, Uhonmora,Oke Ora(Oke Old and Oke new),Eme Ora.
I also emphasized that the history of the ozalla people can be traced to Ora.Prince Uguan later became an Oba in the old benin kingdom.He was known as Oba Ewuare Ozolua.

Their are so many books written on the history of the ora people. And if you ask the elders you will get varied responses on how ozalla was founded. The key thing is the ozalla people came from Ora.

I've always wondered. They are in Owan West but I have never seen them refer to themselves as "Ora". Would you know what their sub-ethnic group they consider themselves to be? Esan possibly? I've always looked at them as a border community between Esan West and Owan West.

The People of Ozallas' history can be traced to Ora but they do not refer to themselves as ora people cos they were banished and exist as their own clan.

Prince Uguan had a son who came out with his legs during childbirth according to history which was regarded as a taboo then. That occurrence was referred to as Uza. The child founded Ozalla clan and they are a part of Owan West L.G.A.

Most times village people are trying to eke out a living for themselves and not necessarily interested in the downfall of anyone. I have always visited mine for xmas yearly in the last fifteen years and no one is interested in killing me. I have friends and cousins who grew up there and are doing well and no one has killed them. It's just a mindset thing for most people to conclude their village people is after them.

The funny part of it is some of these villagers are actually making more money than the people dwelling in the city. So if you visit with a state of the art car you will find out one cocoa farmer has same or a man who runs a sawmill and refused to leave his village has the same car. Though the heart of man is not known the young man should visit a hospital for proper assessment and not conclude that his friends or foes are after his downfall. Let us stop vilifying our villages.

I am scared of the east.

I will want to redeploy from there too. My fear of the east is not because I have been there. My fear of them is from the way they conduct themselves online.

They are quick to threaten this and that. I will not be taking chances with them. I am sure these scared corpers must feel the same way too.

A sensible one would have written to my write up, that I have the wrong information about them,and worked on correcting my impression about them.

Your post really made me laugh. I can't blame you either cos you might have read of happenings in the east or got info that you relied on.

I grew up in the south west and did my youth service in Anambra state and you will be surprised the day you visit the east and see people minding their businesses and hustling to make a living. Nobody will attack you.

I had the same mindset just like you years back cos it was a terrain I have never been to. What you get to read on Nairaland is more of Internet warriors commenting and nothing more.

I have lived in Anambra and I still travel through Awka and Onitsha on a monthly basis to see my family at Lagos. Enugu has been my base for almost five years now and I love every moment of my stay here.

Anywhere can be home in Nigeria if we purge our minds off our usual tribalism and integrate with the people of the states where we find ourselves.

A lot of the corp members know there is nothing much in the state, no prospect of employment after service, high cost of living and the hostile nature of the locals of those place.

Only states such as Borno, Yobe and Adamawa receive such a deluge of relocation requests obviously because of security challenges.

I served in Anambra State 17years ago and I did not come across any hostile local. I was opportuned to travel to other local government areas due to the nature of my job during NYSC and never felt threatened. Most times people don't have the right information and conclude easily just to put fear in the minds of others.

I grew up in the south west and had my primary to tertiary education in the south west. I believed I was going to serve in Lagos and when I saw my posting to Anambra state I made up my mind to apply for relocation since I have never been to the east before. All that changed when I got to Umunya and I completed my service year at Awka.

I have changed jobs intermittently and in my last two jobs I always got transferred to the East and I am still here at Enugu living my life peacefully without any hassles.

We only cause problems for one another when we attack our tribes. Our characters defines us at the long run.

Some sections between Oyigbo, also called Aba Road (in Port Harcourt) to Enugu is bad.

It is still a journey that can be completed in 3hrs 45mins.Some drivers have discovered a new route which most drivers are not aware of.

The route is from Eneka which connects Etche into Owerrinta and you are free from the bad section of Oyigbo into Aba and left to cope with the section of Okigwe and some other bad spots into Enugu.

I have plied that route several times and arrived into Enugu town in less than 4hrs.The maximum time I have spent is 3hrs 45mins and it has always been in a commercial bus.

If MACBAN (South East) is not happy with the decision of the South East Governors they should have another press conference and inform them that the fulanis have their ancestral lands in the south east as well.

South East region ain't the middle belt region and it is not by force to give out land for ranches. Sambisa forest is now safe for ranches to be built. Let them relocate their ranches to Sambisa forest . The minister of Agriculture will import the juicy grass that will sustain their cattle.

It's only becoming new to Nigerians. It's a common sight in Ghana mostly used by taxi drivers and safety standards are adhered to cos it's installed in the boot of the taxis. This one installed in the bus is clearly unsafe and a big risk to the lives of the passengers and the driver.
