In a country where larger population are at their extreme poverty levels, we still have some greedy Nigerians who hide millions of Naira  have they couldn't spent in their life time, until it gets destroyed without remedy to the extent that "it is no longer legal tender".

PoliticsA New Dawn In Osun As Adeleke Reverses Appointments, Freezes State Accounts, Rev by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 2:22pm On Nov 27, 2022
The New Governor of Osun, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has directed the comprehensive review of all policies and government decisions in the state from July 17, 2022.

The Governor also directed the reversal of all appointments made in the state at the twilight of the previous administration, as well as the freezing of all state accounts with immediate effect.

Governor Adeleke stated this in his address at his inauguration ceremony, today, November 27, 2022 at the Osogbo Township Stadium.

The Governor also ordered a revert to the name of Osun State, from the State of Osun, as well as the state’s appellation, from the State of the Virtuous, to the former State of the Living Spring.

He solicited the support of the people of the state, to deliver on his five point agenda to the people.

"LOCAL GOVERNMENT REFORMS
In line with our campaign manifesto, our government will ensure local government autonomy in line with the provisions of the Nigeria constitution.
We will restore the lost glory of our local governments in order to make them more responsive to the needs of the people at the grassroots.
All policies that are not favourable to the growth of effective local government administration will be reviewed in accordance with the law.

No form of illegality will be allowed to stand and all acts of impunity committed by the immediate past administration on local government administration will be reversed following due process.

THE PUBLIC SERVICE
My administration will restore the integrity of the civil service which has been bastardised through favouritism and political considerations.
We will give the civil service a better orientation with a view to restoring its professionalism. In doing this, we will be fair and firm as we act only in pursuance of public interest.
Let me therefore announce an immediate return to status quo of all fresh appointments, placements and other major decisions taken by the immediate past administration with effect from the 17th of July, 2022.

I wish to assure all labour unions in the state of our administration’s willingness to protect workers interest and promote their welfare at all times. We will be a labour friendly government.

EXECUTIVE ORDERS
My Good People of Osun, since you elected me as your Governor on the 16th of July 2022, which the INEC announced on July 17th 2022, the former Governor, Alh Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola maliciously started putting road blocks to make things difficult and almost impossible for the new administration to serve you.
Mass employment were carried out without budgetary provisions for salary payments for the new employees; even when the state was struggling to pay salaries and deliver other services. Various hurried and criminally backdated Contracts were awarded and again without budgetary provisions.

Appointments of several Obas were hurriedly done without following due process, just to mention a few.
All efforts to get the Governor set up a Transition Committee and submit hand-over notes in line with best practices proved abortive.

It is therefore my desire to ask for your patience and understanding to give my administration a few weeks to review and sort out all the actions and malicious confusions which the immediate past administration has created since July 17th 2022. Those actions were indeed vindictive measures against the people of Osun State for voting them out of office.

Consequently, I hereby issue the following directives which will be backed up with appropriate Executive orders:
Immediate freezing of all government accounts in banks and other financial institutions
Immediate establishment of a panel to carry out an inventory and recover all government assets.
An immediate establishment of a panel to review all appointments and major decisions of the immediate past administration taken after the 17th July, 2022
An immediate reversal to the constitutionally recognised name of our state, Osun State. All government insignia, correspondences and signages should henceforth reflect Osun state rather than State of Osun which is unknown to the Nigerian constitution."

CrimeInsiide Life: Abducted Laspotech Student Narrates How People Were Slaughtered, by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 10:22am On Nov 23, 2022
An undergraduate of the Lagos State Polytechnic identified as Marvelous Omobobola, who was abducted by a kidnap syndicate in the state, has been released after his family members paid N200,000 ransom.

PUNCH Metro gathered that Omobobola went to school on Saturday to sign a SIWES form.
After he was done, the undergraduate boarded a tricycle to his hostel in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The 28-year-old said the tricycle operator was conveying him and other passengers to their destinations in Odogunyan when he suddenly veered onto a street to avoid the traffic ahead.

Omobobola said the tricycle operator was navigating the street to link the expressway when he suddenly parked beside a bus located near a bush.

He said he and other passengers were lamenting the abrupt stop beside a bush around 5pm when some armed men stepped out of the bus, pounced on them and whisked them away.

Narrating his ordeal to our correspondent, Omobobola said, “I went to school on Saturday to sign my SIWES form because we were to start exams on Monday.

“When I was done around 5pm, I boarded a tricycle from my school to my hostel in Odogunyan. There was traffic along the way so the tricycle operator diverted into a street.

“We were three at the back of the tricycle and one man sat beside the tricycle operator at the front. We asked why he left the road and he told us it was because of the traffic.

“Suddenly, the tricycle operator parked beside a bus and some men with guns pounced on us and ordered us into the bus that was parked near a bush. We met some people in the bus when we entered it.”

Omobobola said the tricycle operator left to bring more victims, adding that the kidnappers seized their phones to keep them incommunicado.

The undergraduate said, “They drove us into the bush where some people visited to price us like goats. Some people among my group were taken away into a room where they were killed and well-dressed people came with coolers for their body parts.

“When we were told to take off our clothes, one of the kidnappers saw the Celestial Church crucifix on my waist and he put me aside. He asked me what the crucifix was for and I told him I am from a celestial family.
“He then returned my phone and told me to call my people to pay a ransom for me before their leader, one Alhaji, comes. He said when their leader returns, he would not be able to help me because Alhaji procures human parts for politicians and other people. He said I would be killed if he found me there.”

Using Omobobola’s phone, the kidnappers contacted his mother, Ronke, and demanded N700,000 ransom.

Our correspondent who was with Ronke when she commenced negotiation with the suspects heard them telling her to choose between purchasing a coffin to bury her son and raising the money to secure his release.

The kidnappers later agreed to collect N200,000 and after ending the call, the aggrieved mother was seen begging people including church members for money and was able to raise N100,000.

Speaking with our correspondent, Ronke said, “I am not myself as I am speaking to you. I heard the sound of people crying on the phone and my son said the kidnappers cut two people’s throats like cows in an abattoir. I have been told to send the N100,000 into my son’s account for his release.”

Our correspondent quickly contacted the state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, and he detailed the Divisional Police Officer, Odogunyan Police Station, to investigate the case.

Omobobola’s phone number was sent to the DPO who traced calls made to the number.

However, after the mother of the undergraduate paid the N100,000, the kidnappers, after using his ATM card to withdraw the money from a Point-of-Sale operator, used Omobobola’s phone number to borrow N100,000 from online credit companies.

It was learnt that the borrowed money was also withdrawn and the victim was released around 2am on Sunday.

Contacted, the Director of Information and Public Relations, Lagos State Polytechnic, Lanre Kuye, told our correspondent that the institution just got wind of the case.

He added, “We would make a case to the Lagos State Police Command to prevent future occurrences against staff and students.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, when contacted, said the command was on the matter, adding that the culprits would be arrested soon.

PoliticsOsun Tribunal Update: Drama, Arguments, Intrigues As Hearing Continues On Tuesda by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 11:00pm On Nov 22, 2022
Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has told the Election Petition Tribunal that the state office of the commission was not in custody of the certificates of Senator Ademola Adeleke.

The electoral officer made this declaration on Tuesday at the resumed hearing of the petition filed by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the declaration of Ademola Adeleke of the PDP as Governor-elect.

The REC was billed to appear before the panel in line with a Subpoena issued on him to produce form CF001 of Adeleke which contained his credentials used for the 2018 governorship election.

This is even as one of the Petitioners' witnesses, Evangelist Rasak Adeosun while giving evidence before the panel told the tribunal that Adeleke did not attend any university, hence he could not have obtained any certificate.

At the resumed hearing, the counsel for INEC, Professor Paul Ananaba had told the tribunal that the REC could not be brought to court, because he was not aware that the application filed against the Subpoena issued on him had been withdrawn.

After series of arguments, the tribunal Chairman, Justice Tertsea Kume insisted that whether there was an application against the Subpoena or not, the REC or his representative was supposed to be in court to bring the documents requested.

The proceedings then took a dramatic turn when suddenly, the representative of the REC, Mr Sheu Mohammed, the Deputy Director, Election and Party Monitoring who had been in court abinitio rose and told the court that he was around to represent the REC.

It was at this point that the INEC Counsel also retracted his statement and said he has just been informed that the representative of REC was around.

When asked to produce the documents requested for, Mohammed told the tribunal that the state office of the commission was not in custody of the documents, saying the copies given to it had been discarded shortly after the 2018 election.

He said: "We are not in custody of the documents, the documents were submitted to the National Headquarters. We were only given photocopies by the National Headquarters for display.

"After we might have done with litigations, the only record we kept in our office are form EC8A Series. "

Asked by the tribunal to produce the said photocopies given to the state office, the witness said: "We don't have the photocopies again. We have decongested our system".

Counsel for Oyetola, Chief Akin Olujinmi (SAN) subsequently argued that the attitude of the REC was mainly not to obey the tribunal order issued on REC to produce the documents.

He said, even if the state office of the commission did not have the requested documents, "REC is representing INEC here and he has a duty to obtain the said documents at their National Headquarters and he has not said that the National Headquarters cannot find that document.

"So, he cannot excuse the duty of obedience to that Subpoena by his lame explanation that it was submitted to the national headquarters.

"My Lord, I will apply that your Lordship should direct the REC to approach the national headquarters and obtain the said documents. They had disobeyed the first order and if they like they should disobey the second order", Olujinmi argued.

The tribunal subsequently directed the Oyetola's counsel to Section 253(2) of the Evidence Act which indicated that violator of such court order is liable to an arrest and be committed to prison.

Oyetola's counsel said he was only being humane, as he would have applied for committal, saying "police is here to arrest him. I don't see how you can escape from this one".

Responding to the arguments, counsel for INEC, Professor Ananaba said, "the representative of REC is here and REC is different from INEC. So, the Subpoena has been complied with because the representative of REC is here to tell the court he is not in custody of the said documents."

He argued that the tribunal does not have the power to make another order in the same line, claiming that the first order had been complied with.

Counsel for Adeleke, Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN) in his own objection said since the documents requested to be produce by the INEC are Certified True Copies (CTC), it can be applied and paid for, without necessarily bringing the REC to the court.

He then argued that based on the fact that the Petitioners' already have the CTC at their disposal, they should be compelled to continue with the calling of the witnesses whose testimony hanged on the documents requested from INEC.

Counsel for PDP, Alex Izinyon, SAN also said that since the petitioners already have the documents in question, they should be compelled to call the witness.

Olujinmi while replying said the respondents' counsel lost track in the course of their arguments, saying there was an order of the court through subpoena which have not been complied with.

He noted that counsel in the case ought not to do anything that will obstruct the proceeding of the court, saying the issue of the Subpoena is sufficient enough to compel the INEC again to produce the documents.

The tribunal then adjourned ruling on the argument of counsel on the failure of INEC to produce the said documents till Friday, 25th November.

Meanwhile, one of the Petitioners' witnesses, Evangelist Rasak Adeosun while giving evidence before the panel told the tribunal that Adeleke did not attend any university, hence he could not have obtained any certificate.

Asked by Adeleke counsel whether he was a staff of the university attended by Adeleke, Adeosun replied: "Did he attend any university, how would I be a staff of the university he didn't attend".

He insisted that Adeleke does not have any certificate, just as he told the panel that "I know that there is over-voting, as the total number of the votes cast is more than the accredited voters on BVAS reports.

Adeosun, who served as the state collation agent for the APC hinted that he received reports of the happenings in the polling units on the election day and discovered that there was no substantial compliance with the INEC guidelines and the Electoral Act in the contentious 749 polling units.

SportsRonaldo Talks About Son's Death Says It's The Most Difficult Time Of His Life by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 1:43am On Nov 18, 2022
After his son passed away, Ronaldo missed one match for Manchester United before making a quick comeback.

The world's most famous soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo, has spoken up about the heartbreaking loss he experienced when his son passed away in delivery earlier this year, calling it the worst experience he's gone through since his father's passing in 2005.

In an interview with Piers Morgan this week, CR7 was frank about what it felt like to be overtaken with happiness and heartbreak after giving birth to his daughter and grieving the death of his son at the same time.

"It is probably the worst moment that has passed through my life since my father died," Ronaldo said..

“When you have a kid, you expect that everything will be normal, and when you have that problem, it's hard. As human beings, me and Georgina had quite difficult moments, because we don't understand why it happened to us. It was difficult, to be honest, it was very, very difficult to understand what's going on in that period of our life."

"I try to explain sometimes to my family and close friends, they say, 'I never felt to be happy and sad in the same moment.'"

"It's hard to explain -- so difficult -- You don't know if you cry, you don't know if you smile, Because it's something you don't know how to react. You don't know what to do to be honest." Cristiano added.

In addition to announcing the birth of their daughter and the loss of her twin brother, Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez broke the devastating news back in April.

PoliticsJust In: Buhari Sacks Nysc Director-general, Brigadier-general Fadah by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 1:22am On Nov 18, 2022
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, November 17, 2022 approved immediate sack of Brigadier General Mohammed Fadah as the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), barely six months in office.

Fadah, who was appointed Director-General of NYSC in May 2022, took over from Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim as the 19th person to hold the position.

NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, who confirmed the development to newsmen late Thursday night, could not disclose the reason for the sack.

However, reports suggest that the President ordered the removal of the Director-Deneral due to his incompetence.

Meanwhile, Fadah is said to have been asked to hand over to the most senior official within the NYSC.

The senior official who takes over from Fadah is expected to act as DG of the Corps pending the announcement of a new substantive DG.

When he took over as NYSC DG, Fadah promised to improve the security and welfare of Corps members; enhance staff welfare, and improve the gains of NYSC ventures.

Other areas listed in his plans included “Sustaining the digitisation of the operations of the scheme; and deepening NYSC’s impact on rural development through community development service.”

PoliticsOsun Tribunal Update: Tribunal Compels Inec To Produce Adeleke's Certificates, N by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 9:49pm On Nov 16, 2022
There were hot arguments before the Osun State Election Petition Tribunal on Wednesday, as the panel compelled the State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to produce the nomination form and academic certificates of Senator Ademola Adeleke used for his nomination in the 2018 governorship election.

The order of the tribunal, Chaired by Justice Tertsea Kume was contained in a Subpoena issued on REC by the panel following the request of counsel for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is just as counsel for INEC, Adeleke and the PDP failed in their attempt to have the petition dismissed abruptly at the hearing.

At the sitting of the tribunal on Wednesday, Counsel for Oyetola and the APC, Dr. Abiodun Saka Layoonu (SAN), informed the court that the petitioners have filed a Subpoena dated 3rd of November 2022, compelling REC to appear before the court to present Adeleke's Form CF 001, which is the nomination form and all its attachments, including the certificates used in the 2018 election.

He indicated that since the bailiff was yet to serve REC with the Subpoena, even after being signed, he would be compelled to ask for adjournment till Monday, 21 November.

Counsel for INEC, Paul Ananaba, SAN, objected to the application for adjournment, saying it was a clear evidence that the petitioners were not prepared for diligent prosecution of the petition, citing paragraph 18(11) of the Electoral Act.

While also arguing that REC being subpoenaed to bring the said documents was never mentioned in the petition, Ananaba added that by planning to call REC as a witness without informing the tribunal earlier, the petitioners had violated paragraph 3 of the tribunal's pre-hearing report.

He noted that the said paragraph 3 indicated that the tribunal must be furnished with list of witnesses to be called 24 hour to the hearing day.

It was at this stage that the tribunal Chairman interrupted the INEC lawyer and said: "Why can't you keep your gun powder dry. Stop jumping the gun. After all, you have not been served. It is only when you are served that you can raise issues".

But regardless of the tribunal Chairman's comment, Ananaba insisted on his application that the petition should be dismissed immediately.

Counsel for Adeleke, Mr. Niyi Owolade, and that of the PDP, Nathaniel Oke (SAN), aligned with Ananaba's arguments and prayed that the tribunal should dismiss the petition.

Responding, Oyetola's counsel, Layoonu, SAN, described the respondents' arguments as baseless, saying the question of not being diligent in the prosecution of the petition was just a blanket statement by the respondents.

He argued: "The question of diligence is a question of fact. My learned friends have just made blanket statement, but they have never come with any fact to that effect. Your Lordships know that there was no hearing day that we had not been here to prosecute our case.

"Besides that, my Lord, it is our prerogative to conduct our case the way we want as permitted by the law and we have been so diligent with it because we know what we are doing. What then is their problem?

Layoonu also referred to paragraph 69(vi) of the petition where it was expressly stated that the documents in question would be relied on.

In his further arguments, Layoonu said since the tribunal has not issued the subpoena, it could not have been served on the respondents, asking the INEC counsel to take a hint from the tribunal and stop being apprehensive unnecessarily.

He then urged the tribunal to discountenance all the arguments of the respondents' counsel.

In his ruling, read by the Chairman, the tribunal agreed with the petitioners' counsel and ignored the applications to dismiss the petition.

It said that the subpoena was issued by the tribunal around evening on Tuesday and would subsequently be served on REC.

He then adjourned the matter till Monday, November 21, for continuation of hearing.

Speaking with journalists after the hearing one of the petitioners' Counsel, Chief Yomi Aliyu (SAN) said: "The Subpoena was to bring Adeleke's Curriculum Vitae to court, including all the documents he filed in form CFO01. It concerns Adeleke on the certificates he claimed he had, and that is why you heard the protestation of his lawyers. But it must be brought to court one way or the other.

"The court must see his certificates that he got from wherever he said he got them. That is why you see that it was hot for two hours as they were asking for the dismissal of the petition."

PoliticsDino Melaye Like Tinubu Goofed, Campaign For Apc Instead Of Pdp (watch Video) by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 3:08pm On Nov 16, 2022
THIS is Nigeria's own political terrain where scandals, blunders of different dimensions happened.

Just as it happened at the Kickoff campaign of the ruling All Progressives Congress at the Jos Stadium on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 when their Presidential flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu almost blessed PD... instead of his party to win the 2023 presidential election.

Tinubu chanted, "God bless PD..." before he came to his consciousness.  He later corrected himself by saying, "God bless APC".

One would wonder why Tinubu committed such a blunder when he has never decamped from the progressives since he became a politician over 30 years ago.  It could be over anxiousness seeing the mammoth crowd before him.

Dino Melaye's 'goofing',  is understandable because he has jumped from PDP to APC and from APC to PDP to the extent that he has lost counts of his cross-carpeting.

Melaye said,

"... have decided that they are throwing away the broom and they are going with the umbrella and you are voting APC everywhere.." before he regained his consciousness.
Who among the two gladiators committed unforgivable blunder?

CrimeINSIDE LIFE: Prophet Of C&S Church Arrested For Impregnating A Sister, Defiles O by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 8:24am On Nov 16, 2022
A 30-year-old prophet of Cherubim and Seraphim Church Ajuwon, Prophet Joseph Ogundeji, has been arrested by men of Ogun state Police Command for allegedly defiling two under age sisters who are members of his church.

The suspect was arrested on November 11, 2022, following a complaint lodged at Ajuwon Divisional Headquarters by the father of the two underage girls, who reported that he discovered that his 16-year-old daughter is pregnant, and when he inquired to know who is responsible for the pregnancy, it was discovered that the prophet is the one who impregnated her.

SP Abimbola Oyeyemi who is the Spokesperson of the state police command said upon the report, the DPO Ajuwon division, SP Andrew Akinseye detailed his detectives to effect the arrest of the prophet.

''On interrogation, the prophet admitted that he actually committed the crime. In the course of investigation, it was discovered that the said prophet did not only have carnal knowledge of the 16 years old girl, but her 13 years old younger sister too was defiled by the same prophet.

The two victims informed the police that whenever they had vigil in the church, the prophet who lives very close to the church would asked them to go and stay in his house after the vigil which always comes to an end around 3 am.

They stated further that anytime they stay in the prophet's house, he used to give them something to lick, and after licking it, they will sleep off only to wake up and discover that the prophet had had sex with them.'' Oyeyemi said

The Spokesperson added that when asked why they didn't inform their parents, the victims informed the police that the suspect threatened to kill anyone of them that let the cat out of the bag.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspect be transferred to anti-human trafficking and child labor unit of the state Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and possible prosecution.

As I write this, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has become a way to heaven or to hell depending or ones relationship with God Almighty, no one is sure of safe trip until one gets to its destination.

NIGERIAN Customs Service Officer, Owombo Segun John who was detained for exposing the rots at a Nigerian Border in Adamawa State where scores of trucks loaded with refined petrol are being smuggled to neighbouring countries has been deployed to their Head Office in Abuja from Adamawa State.

Owombo is expected to meet with the Comptroller General of Customs while in detention.

This was confirmed to SaharaReporters on Monday during a phone conversation with his brother, who also stated that Owombo informed him that his life had been threatened since he was incarcerated.

“Last four days when I called him, he told me the customs officers have been threatening him. They say they would terminate him. Since then, we could not reach him again. It seems they have collected his phone.

“But a source within the office told me this morning that he has been taken to Customs National Headquarters in Abuja,” Owombo's brother said.

He also described the claims by some people that his brother, Segun is suffering from a mental disorder as untrue.

He continued: “My brother is a very brilliant man. Someone that was posted to Adamawa and has been working there since, how can you now say he is insane? That is a lie. They are just trying to cover up."

“The claim that he was found naked is also not true. He told me that immediately after he released the video, he was attacked by some customs officers and tanker drivers. He even told me that if he is allowed, he has some evidence to back up his claim,” he added.

When asked why Owombo was calling on Bola Tinubu, the ruling APC Presidential candidate, in his video, he said Owombo did that due to inexperience.

“I also found that not good. He should have followed a proper channel to report what he found and not necessarily call out anybody’s name,” he said.

Last Friday, multiple sources told SaharaReporters that Owombo, an officer attached to the Federal Operations Unit, Zone D in Adamawa State had been arrested and detained.

In a video, he narrated how he arrested so many smugglers on Wednesday, November 2, at Malabo Checkpoint on Belel Road, Adamawa state.

He however said senior officials of the NCS called him to release the suspects.

Recently, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva said Nigeria loses at least 700,000 barrels of crude oil to thieves daily.

CrimeCUSTOMS Officer Detained For Exposing Illegal Smuggling Of Trucks With Fuel To N by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 2:57pm On Nov 15, 2022
NIGERIAN Customs Service has detained an Officer, Owombo Segun John for exposing the rots across the border to neighbouring West African Countries.

The Officer attached to the Federal Operations Unit Zone D in Adamawa in a viral video said he arrested truck loads of petrol being smuggled to Chad, Cameroon, Benin Republic and others.

Owombo, a Superintendent of Customs (SC) in a video had narrated how he arrested so many smugglers on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Malabo Checkpoint on Belel Road, Adamawa State.

He however said Senior Officials of the NCS called him to release the suspects. The Officer attached to the Federal Operations Unit Zone D in Adamawa State had been arrested and detained.

“He has been detained by the Comptroller over the video"
At least 42 million litres of petrol are being smuggled out of Nigeria at a resultant cost of about N2 billion, according to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

In November 2019, the NCS announced a directive that restricted petroleum products from being supplied to fuel stations within 20 kilometres of the borders.

Prior to that, the NNPC had raised the alarm about the increasing number of filling stations in border towns, saying they were funnels for fuel smuggling to neighbouring countries.

With millions of Nigerians grappling with periodic fuel shortages, the porous borders, spanning over 17,000 kilometres, make it possible for the product to be smuggled to these neighbouring countries easily.

According to a recent report by Deutsche Welle (DW), a German public state-owned international broadcaster, smugglers are having a field day selling Nigerian fuel at cheaper rates than the conventional petrol stations in Cameroon.

The Deutsche Welle (DW) reports that although the exact volume of smuggled Nigerian petrol to Cameroon is not known, local media reports in Cameroon put the ‘black market’ illegal trade at $5million (about N1.905 billion) every year.

According to a survey by the German media in Maroua, the capital city of the Far North region of Cameroon, stolen fuel from neighbouring Nigeria is readily available for sale.

Even when Nigerians are faced with shortages, it was learnt that the supply is constant in Cameroon.

ARISE Television has apologised to the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over a fake report that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced a forfeiture investigation against Tinubu.

PoliticsKeyamo, Ayekooto Blast Arise Tv For Broadcasting Fake News Credited To Inec Over by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 4:03pm On Nov 13, 2022
ONE of the fast rising Private Television in Nigeria, ARISE TV has come under attacks from Ayekooto and the official Spokesperson for Tinubu/Shettima 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo (SAN).

The attacks came over the bradcast of the letter purportedly issued by INEC to investigate APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over alleged drug scandal in the United States in 2003.

In a Tweet available to SOJ WORLDWIDE from the Official Page of Keyamo, he berated ARISE TV for failing to verify a Letter that was debunked by INEC.

Keyamo said,
"Even the ‘usual suspects’ have rushed to carry the fake story on their news bar without even a simple confirmation from INEC. The same outlet that wanted to conduct a ‘fair debate’. Now, they are left with a red face. It’s as bad as that this season of politics & electioneering!"

Ayekooto lambast ARISE TV saying it is a junk outlet:
"Shame on you @AriseTv. A Junk outlet.
Did you pick news from gutter without confirmation?"

It would be recalled that INEC debunked the letter trending on social media on Tuesday.  INEC issued official Press Statement to deny the letter saying it was a fake letter and that it did not come the commission.

l

FORMER Military Head of State, General Sani Abacha participated in all military coups in Nigeria except one, the Kaduna Nzeogwu coup on January 15, 1966.

Abacha played along with MKO Abiola pretending to be a lover of democracy until he ousted the Interim Government headed by Chief Ernest Shonekan in a Palace coup on November 17, 1993.

The true colour of the maximum ruler came to open when he hounded MKO Abiola into detention after MKO declared himself President at Epetedo, Lagos.

Abacha became the most feared dictator Nigeria has ever had that gave birth to NADECO with many newspaper publications proscribed and journalists either declared missing or locked up in detention without trials across the country.

All his dictatorial tendencies came to an end on June 8, 1998.
How did Abacha died? What killed him? Who killed him and where did he give up the ghost?

The United Kingdom has advised its citizens against travelling to 22 states in Nigeria.

According to the high commission, the purpose of the travel update is to help its nationals make better-informed decisions about international travel and plan for a trouble-free trip.

THE STATEMENT READ,
“FCDO travel advice exists to inform British nationals so they can make decisions about travelling abroad. There continues to be a number of states in Nigeria where we advise British Nationals against all but essential travel.
These include: Bauchi, Kano, Jigawa, Niger, Sokoto, Kogi, Abia, Plateau, Taraba, within 20km of the border with Niger in Kebbi State and non-riverine areas of Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers States.

CrimeTimothy Adegoke: Falana Wins Round One, Plea For Amendment Charge Granted (read by SojWORLDWIDE(op): 4:50pm On Nov 08, 2022
The Owner of Hilton Honors Hotel, Ile-Ife, Chief Ramon Adedoyin, and six of his staff were on Monday, November 7, 2022  re-arraigned on 18 counts bordering on conspiracy and alleged murder of an EXECUTIVE-MBA student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke.

Adedoyin and the other defendants in the matter had been on trial, facing 11 counts of conspiracy, murder and interference with corpse, among others.

But the prosecutor, Chief Femi Falana, SAN, after the defence had closed its case, approached the court with an application seeking to amend the charge of the defendants, in view of the new evidence before the court.

The application was however opposed by the defence counsel, who said it was brought in bad faith.

At Monday’s proceedings, the defendants were rearraigned after Osun State Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo had granted the application seeking to amend their charges.

In her ruling, Justice Adepele Ojo, dismissed claims by the Defence Counsel that the amendment was brought in bad faith and that the prosecutor was bias against their clients, saying since judgement had not been given, the prosecutor could amend the charge.
