go there and see pics of cars belonging to the Nigerian police. You can see motorcycles too. It is so unfortunate i cant post pics here. Ive been trying to do so but just cannot. Maybe some else can help me. I will continue to give links..
what is wrong with the vehicles?
State governors are known to donate vehicles to the police in their various states to help the police do their work effectively.

snydergp: U only hide what u don't have and even if u do get hardware it take years to gain the necessary competence to operate efficiently. There's really not allot of hardware secrets in all militaries around the world, does the US hide the fact that they have F-35's and that they were grounded last week because of technical failures NO, or does Russia hide there development of a SU-30 fifth generation jet NO.

Either u have it or u don't.
Actually, countries are known to hide critical military hardwares and platforms from unnecessary exposure.
You mentioned russia and america.
We currently don't know the full strength of both nations.
Iran,pakistan,egypt,israel,N.korea,e.t.c. are nations that are very careful in exposing their military arsenal unnecessarily.
That is why no military website have been able to give a conclusive and accurate picture of the military strength of different nations.
Not every country is like SA.

Msauza: FACT:

NIGERIA = SA in 1960
keep deceiving yourself.
There is nothing SA has that Nigeria cannot get.
We don't need them as we are not under any direct threat from any part of Africa.
Besides, most military hardwares and stuff that countries like Egypt and Nigeria have are usually hidden, unlike SA that displays all to the world.
May I humbly recommend that those of you hard headed, old fashioned, and ignorant posters such as Syncan, who post only in Igbo, that they terminate this behavior ASAP. This behavior alienates many Igbo youths who were born abroad or outside of the East and thus unable to read or write Igbo. These people are nonetheless as Igbo as Ojukwu himself.

One of the signs of political maturity is the inclusion of all constituents in all matters Igbo and ensuring that no one is disenfranchised. Mind you, these youths who are being alienated by the old coots who continue to post in Igbo without any interpretation, are the Igbo leaders of tomorrow.

Nuff said.
This post is very sensible.
Given the fact that politics in Nigeria is about numbers,it would do you guys a world of disservice if igbos deficient in the speaking of igbo are isolated as evident on nairaland.

Exponental: What is d govt's plan? To clean up n charge them, relocate them or what??
Development has a price 2 pay...... It is not about ibos but about LAGOSIANS!
And why was this sentiment not followed during the removal of fuel subsidy, afterall it would aid private investments in refineries and reduce corruption?
Why the mass protests?
But when it's fashola,we turn a blind eye, claiming it's a price we have to pay for development.
Even ghana have withdrawn fuel subsidy.
Double-standards,double-standards and more double-standards.

valicious1: You are the only one that sees Nigeria as a superpower, these western countries view Nigeria in the same way they view togo, ghana etc. In terms of whether they can afford to lose Nigeria, yes they can cos so many alternate countries abound all over the globe.
Acually, you are right in a way.
Militarily,we are more like togo to them, but in terms of influence in africa,we matter.
Nigeria is a major decider of who benefit what, from the vast african resources through the organ of the ECOWAS and also through the A.U.
The only nation who can boast of such influence in Africa is southafrica.
Do you think ghadaffi would have been killed if Nigeria hadn't agreed to it?
Hell No!!
2)There are no viable alternatives elsewhere.
Africa is the richest continent.
The only alternative is Asia/ME,which we all know is unstable.
Have you ever wondered why china and the west are in 'cold war' over Africa?
Politics › Re: Russian Sailors Face Life-Imprisonment In Nigeria by solomon111(m): 10:37am On Feb 23, 2013
valicious1: Is Nigeria ready to bear the consequences of this drastic action?, is Nigeria ready to face Russia's wrath?, there are other less-injurious ways to settle matters of this kind like prisoner exchange. Their are Nigeran citizens sentenced to death & life imprisonment in Russia, these Nigerians can be exchanged with the Russians when convicted. In that way the peaceful diplomatic relations of both countries would be maintained & less harm done to foreign exchange.
There is nothing russia can do except to withdraw support for Nigeria.
But then,i don't think russia wants to be at enmity with an African superpower like Nigeria, even america can't afford it.

I seriously don't want us to have any altercation with russia.
They have been very good business partners especially in military hardware sales.
We need their support to act as balance against american intrusion and over-bearing stance.
Russia is a good ally, unlike the western powers.
We should shake them a bit and then give them what they want for the sake of our interests.

Eko Ile: The problem with you in particular is, you see things your way only. I don't need you to keep repeating the same hook and sink lines about some gimmick scam tour.

States are unitary entities and they don't need to be dictated to by any other arm of government talk less asking them to fund what's of no use to their constituencies. Common sense and prudence dictates that you fund your own initiatives and not saddled other people with needless and inconsiderate request to feed and lodge 150 people jamboree team.

Answering the questions I asked you would have sufficed and there is a reason why you refused to answer, but I'll ask again especially the highlighted.

Question.

Why are they so concerned about state projects that doesn't belong to them when the country is littered with their own rotten, neglected and abandoned projects? Why not tour their own rotten mess? Why not tour their own failures and give report to the people of Nigeria including you?

Do you really need these incompetent people to bridge your information gap in 2013? Are you not worried about the many gaps they themselves are too useless and incompetent to bridge or you are just in the same camp with them so you don't care?
look go and sleep.
The lady has openely demonstrated how unobjective your reasoning is.

ochukoccna: It was more or less down to the judgeMETICULOUSLY DETAILING what he has been hearing
Mehn see as judge dey argue for&against the case based on evidence submitted by both parties before him.
The judge kept basing every thing on evidence&a little on human psychology
Wish the justice system in Nigeria was this detailed and thorough
You can only wish, you can only wish

Yeah you are right on that but he'll probably write a book on it and if it's a bestseller,he'll sell the film rights to it.
what exactly did the judge do?
All evidence were pointing to the guy's innocence, even a dog could see it.
So there is nothing special about the judge or the judicial system.
His lawyers won the case for him.

The reason why he was denied visa was not stated, but some Nigerians have already started castigating the embassy.
Go to the various embassies in lagos & abuja and see how millions of Nigerians are denied visa due to one frivolous reason or the other.
The problem with so many if you is that you don't even follow the tour. You have stereotyped your mind to hate it because it's coming from FG and Maku.
The truth is that the tour is not only about state projects. The emphasis is even more on federal government owned projects.
Many of them are NIPP power plants undergoing construction or completed. The last time I watched the Minister chide Rockson Engineering for delays in completion of GBARAIN power plants

It has also been shown on NTA where Maku was quizzing contractors handling federal government road projects for undue delays. So it is not really a state government performance review thing.
The people you call choristers are newspaper and TV journalists from every media house in Nigeria. Maku involved all of them to be part of the tour hence the wide media coverage of the tour
Don't just jump into criticsms because someone has paid you to do so. Spare some time to verify facts so that you don't go about your hatchet job unintelligently
Thumbs up madam.
I congratulate you for refusing to be intimidated by paid propagandists on Nairaland.

andrewza: I got 70% from a number of sources. Has far has I know it is 70% of the working population. And with 160 million people that mean 70million in urban areas. Are we talkint cities or littel towns here.

Those are the 2 most public of South africas companys in SA but not the only. There are a larger number of them doing buisness there either dirctly or thruw backing local companys. Then there are internastionl companys that operate in SA that contribute to SA economy. Exampil mercieds, ford, extra. A strong nigeria is not a threat to SA we more worried about the nigerians in SA than the Nigerians in Nigeria.
SA has never been an obstacle to Nigeria, infact no african country is.
Most SA companies are service coys, and is definitely not what Nigeria needs now.
Nigeria needs a strong manufacturing base to satisfy the african market,as currently no african country manufacture enough goods for export.
The few companies in africa are only service providers.
Manufacturing is what will propel Nigeria and make it africa's china.
No country in africa has that much potential not even SA.

The terrorist plot against their people in different countries around the world? The terrorist plot caught and ended by CIA in their own country? The American government can do some ignorant sh1t to protect their own interest but right now as we can see they have little to zero influence on this, the only influence they have so far is turning some decent individuals in middle east against their own people during the war. As for the terrorist groups found in Africa, well USA, UK, and any other western countries have zero hands in it.
