PoliticsRe: Dr.monguno's Kidnapping May Be Diversionary by solopumpy227: 10:29pm On May 03, 2013
Ddaji: Aliyu U. Tilde

The kidnapping of Dr. Shettima Ali Monguno has come as a surprise.
He is one of the foremost elders of Borno. Boko Haram is not known to kidnap their elders. Monguna is not a rich man. Kidnappers will have very little to gain from him. He is not a vocal critic of Boko Haram. There is no way he would have offended them. To the contrary, he is in the forefront among the elders that have been critical of how the federal government has been handling the crisis. Every reasonable person would say that he is, by all criteria, not qualified to be a target of Boko Haram...
I for once dont trust any announcement or report from this government about BH or any other issue at that ANYMORE.

I am one of the people that believe the BH threat to Lagos does not just jive and seems more politically-crafted by those who stand to gain from hard feelings that will ensue from such incident.

This submission by Mr Tilde might just be true going by the track record of our Man. Especially, when one considers the fact that we have been warned a couple of days ago that BH have changed tactics and have now resorted to kidnapping. Mr Tilde MIGHT JUST BE RIGHT!

Goddex: Liar Muhammed and his gangs of liars have lost it because Nigerians are gradually knowing the truth after being hoodwinked by opposition deceptive propaganda for sometime now.
I hope all of you are not typing from the same room.
You guys should get something straight. The fact that people criticize President Jonathan's Govt does not, automatically, mean they support ACN/CPC/APC or Oppositions.

The President Jonathan led PDP FG actions and words have been trusted in the past but the government has consistently dissapointed us.

No reasonable and serious citizen will believe any reports or statement coming from this FG government again until they become physically verifiable or when impacts are felt in the polity.

You cannot lie to me several times and still believe you can earn my trust on a platter of gold.

Until we see the subsidy thieves sentenced or purnished by court of law everthing from the stable of Aso Rock na wash. Afterall Ribadu has proven to us how possible it is to prosecute and get purnishment for law breakers if one is serious about it.

Ok our production has increased bah (ok let me pretend to believe this news)? Please what does this mean to a common man like me? Does it mean in few months time the price I am buying petroleum products will dip? Does it mean now government can assure the renovation of Benin-Ore Road will be completed before this year runs out?

We have heard about too many Billions being stolen uncontrollably by the closest pals to this Presidency and the only believable news from this govt now are the ones that we can see, touch, feel and enjoy in our lifetimes.
PoliticsRe: How Is Your State Governor Fighting Corruption? by solopumpy227:
Egbo mi Racist,

I agree with you we also need to beam more search-light on our State Govs especially on how they are reducing corruption in the system in their domains.

We are currently focussing (too much) on your Master because the current Federal system we claim to be running is near-unitary where nearly all the instruments of law enforcement is controlled by the FG.

Unfortunately, we have realised that the FG is too powerful that even if all the Govs decided to be incorruptible they still need to look up to Abuja to make it work.

This is why many of us look up to President Jonathan to chat the course of fight against systemic corruption and it will be easier to start mounting pressure on our Govs to fall in line.

Nkemtreasure: The man is right. Can any politician steal without a CIVIL SERVANT? In fact they are the ones who will cover the thing for you.
If you are to start a probe now, one union would call for strike. So how would you fight. Remember ASSU, they were looking for 75yrs retirement age and went on strke for 3 months. They were even paid for not going to work for all the time of the strike.
Pension T(C)hief, Ghost workers, police, AGs in LGAs and states, its even the engineers in the ministries that monitor projects. So, which one would you talk about?
If LABOUR (civil service) SAY NO TO CORRUPTION, THEN IT WILL BE CUT BY 90%
Hey Brother you dont get it. This is an elected Head of States blaming the subjects for festering corruption. what then is his job? A leader is supposed to lead selflesslly, correct mistakes, impose (where deemed necessary), purnish (evil doers), and cleanse his/her subject of vices.

We have given him our mandate and trust to lead and direct us by voting him into power 2011.

What President Jonathan is simply saying in his speech is that Nigeria remains corrupt under him because civil servants have refused to be incorruptible. This is simply buck-passing.

A more intelligent former President Obasanjo has challenged anyone, everyone to blame him for anything, all things that transpired under his rule as the Head of States and not his Lieutenants.

President Jonathan unfortunately know how to use Presidential powers to hound gov. Amaech, he knows how to use the same powers to stop pension thief Maina from being prosecuted, he used the same Presidential powers against the poor masses by removing subsidy in January 2012 but he has not been able to use the power to reduce corruption in the system.

THIS IS SHAMEFUL SO SHAMEFUL!
PoliticsRe: Appropriateness Of Speaker Tambuwals Committee On Amaechi’s Grounded Bombardier by solopumpy227: 9:57pm On May 01, 2013
Tambuwals is one man PDP/GEJ are still confused how to manage. He is o popular in the lower house and loosing him and his loyalists to oppositions will be a big blow to the ruling party.

I wish I can advise President Jonathan for just six months.

Many of us have warned here he is creating a hero out of Amaechi by continually hounding him. At least he should have taken a cue from Atiku vs OBJ where public sentiments naturally swayed towards Atiku.

If truelly President Jonathan wants to contest 2015 Presidential election I believe he is not counting on popular votes to win.
PoliticsRe: What Are The "Sins" Of President Jonathan? by solopumpy227: 9:40pm On May 01, 2013
Unfortunately I hardly hate people but I carefully select my friends and people I hubnobb with. I dont hate President Jonathan but I also do not like him for anything.

* He does not seem to have deep feeling for sanctity of human life : Too many people died in his 2011 electioneering campaign and his comments and those of his wife then are the worst I have heard in recent time.

* He is mischievious (BH threat to bomb Lagos)- He practices divide and rule (factionalising PDP exco in states where the Govs disagree with him)- He plays the fool to get sympathy (kneeling down before Pastors in front of camera)-

* He seems to derive joy in punishing the poor- He chose to remove subsidy (the only thing the poor masses seem to be benefitting from the FG) but failed to purnish the beneficiaries of the fraud.

* He seems not to have any goals or plans but politicking

* He is allowing corruption (at the highest level) to grow out of proportion. "He does not give a damn"

* He is tactless and rash

Which man has shown near-zero intolerance fro corruption and other social vices?

texaco1: he will soon know that he who plays the piper dictates the tune
cheesy
If you are educated then your tutors' efforts have not really yielded much positive result. You lots think like slaves to "Emperror Jonathan". Gov Amaechi has chosen to be his own man and the end will justify his stands/actions in future. The first house in a Village is not always the most beautiful and power is transient. President Jonathan will leave the sit of power one day and he might be paid back in bigger coins moreso with all the uncontrolled corruptions going round him. Just do not come here and shout foul then.

texaco1: he needs to be dealt with to teach other pdp govs not to step on the president toes cheesy
Another slave mentality. In every sane society in the world Leaders offer themselves to serve selflessly. They are respected BUT NOT WORSHIPPED. They do not expect adulation from all like President Jonathan expects from every Xtian and all Southerners.
Sorry you will be dissapointed. President Jonathan CAN NEVER AND WILL NEVER deal with any NORTHERN GOVERNOR. They will step over his toes again and again and agin before 2015 elections (read my lips) and the President will go back and beg them over and over again.

He is gutted against Gov Amaechi because he is from his backyard but wait until he crosses the yellow line and you will see him in his begging mode again.

abagoro: A major ethno-political crisis could break out in the South-South from this joke taken too farcheesy
For now I agree with you its a joke but this has the potential of snowballing into a big bang. If PDP/GEJ succeded in cowering the lawmakers into impeaching Amaechi I foresee a full-blown all-out (not from Rivers people or Amaechi) but from PDP Govs, Oppositions, OBJs, IBBs, Emirs and all that represent huddles to President Jonathan's 2015 ambition. Amaechi's impeachment will signal to them all (anti-GEJ groups) the 2015 we are waiting for is here and the system will go furnace.

Mr. Globe:
where is that noisemaker Rhino? is Amaechi still in charge? I expect the LG chairmen to begin to count their teeth with their tongue right now. The assembly members will return from this suspension with a new mind cheesy
Do not be to sure brother. Like I always say President Jonathan is the one looking for votes, support and 2nd term not Gov. Amaechi. For all I know about Naija politics the victories (over Gov Amaechi) that President Jonathan is enjoying now may just be momentary and do not be surprised is Gov. Amaechi is the one moving into Aso Rock 2015 and not President Jonathan.
PoliticsRe: Rivers PDP Suspends 27 Pro-Amaechi Lawmakers, Gives Amaechi 48 Hrs Ultimatum by solopumpy227: 7:49pm On Apr 29, 2013
President Jonathan harrasment of Amaechi will continue, all Amaechi needs to do is to remain steadfast and hold his guards firmer.

The President plays politics like a childish coward and seems not to have any value or virtue to excell in healthy competions.

From all permuations President Jonathan is, inevitably, going down and the likes of Amaechi may emerge as later heroes in the unfolding epic battle for the soul of Nigeria.

nameo: good. We are getting there steadily.

PS- why is this thread still low on traffic. and why is not on the Frontpage MODS
The traffic is low here because the GEJ-led Govt has deceived people not once, not twice but too many times and they now look out for only visible, touchable and verifiable "dividends of democracy".

Majority of us no longer trust FG reports and statements. Experience they say is the best teacher and in the time past when this Govt words/actions have been trusted we have been consistently dissapointed.

It is a good thing if TRUELY Nigeria is saving money but THE ULTIMATELY concern of a common man like me is how this translates into constant power supply, good and motorable Federal roads, potable water, quality education in my lifetime.

Mr.
onatisi: he should learn from the mistakes of atiku, the president is a powerful person and that post gives him immense power to build or destroy any politician he so wishes.the first thing the c in c ,will do will be to take the party from his hand, set the efcc after him and make sure that everyone avoids him.
Mr Onatisi. Atiku was up against PDP National Leader (OBJ) whose 3rd-term Agenda had been crumbled by Atiku et al. OBJ had no ambition anymore. OBJ selected a popular Northerner (Yaradua) to face Atiku and others. This is in variance with the present debacle between GEJ and Others. We all know how desperatelly GEJ wants a 2nd term.
FYI GEJ CANNOT WIN EVEN AN UNFREE AND UNFAIR ELECTION without seemingly reasonable support from the political Jugarnuts in the North and Southwest. But as of today I CAN CATEGORICALLY SAY GEJ CANNOT BOAST OF ANY powerful support from any of these regions.
GEJ is the one aggressively looking for support and votes not Amaechi. He can only harass Amaechi like he is doing now but if the current trends continue into 2015 election. If there is still a united and peaceful Nigeria I foresee a new Government that will be sympathetic to Amaechi and turn the heat on GEJ.
PoliticsRe: Why We Stopped Amaechi’s Plane – FAAN by solopumpy227:
Elueme: No body is advertising Amaechi but him advertising himself by unnecessarily being too bold and confrontational. Amaechi is selling because all opposition to the president within the PDP and outside the PDP now easily find a good ally in him. He's on a very dangerous adventure because his games can make him or totally destroy him and I think he knows this himself. I was surprised when Amaechi was reportedly to have said the rift with the president is a media creation. He has never hidden it to people who meet him physically and in Feb, he spoke passionately about it when some of us met him on an official mission in Rivers State. Amaechi is strong willed and visionary though some of his ideas maybe high fallouting( that makes him my kind ) but he's very wrong by picking a quarrel with the president and for the wrong reasons. What is happening is political and most people may not understand. I will watch from a far but I doubt if he will survive this.
I agree with most of your submissions aside the highlighteds. Like every courageous and ambitious leader Amaechi has found himself where he is primarilly left with two options: 1. To do an "Akpabio" for GEJ and damn all potential (National) consequences or 2. Be a Nationalist and put "peace and unity" of Nigeria before SS/ND/GEJ interests.

From all indications he seems to have embraced the second option. Democratically, neither you, I nor GEJ has the legal or moral right to question his fundamental right of freedom of expression. HE IS NOT VERY WRONG (FOR CHOOSING TO BE AMAECHI AND NOT A GEJ LACKEY). If you asked him he will have more than One Million reasons to give you for taking his decisions. He has decided (like a courageous Leader) and the end will justify his actions. I will point you to a similar event playing out in the US. A Republican Gov Chris Christie is becoming very popular among Americans because of his no-nonsense approach to issues but his Party (G.O.P) are excluding him from major party events that could give him platform for possible Presidential ticket in 2016. His sin is that he publicly and repeatedly praised President Obama's response to his state when a deadly hurricane passed across his state. Like Amaechi, Chris has taken a stand and we can only wait till 2015-2016 to see if his actions have yielded personal success for him or not.

GEJ/PDP are, unwittinglly, advertising Rotimi Amaechi value to all. I used to "just like" Amaechi before but now I am loving him. He is demonstrating strong character, superior will, and progressive tendencies.

He has gotten himself into the rhelm where he does not have to fight for himself anymore goodwill people will always jump to his side. He sleeps and other Govs will fight his course. GEJ will ground his plane Tambuwal will happily give him a lift. He will be suspended bt PDP and APC WILL GIVE HIM THE V.P SLOT.

NOBODY IS SAYING ANYTHING NOW BECAUSE THIS THREAT FOR VIOLENCE IS NOT COMING FROM BUHARI OR ANOTHER NOTHERNER. These are signs of desperation and palpable fear.
Election is a game of number and GEJ team are clearly seeing the hand-writing on the wall 2015 looks bleak for GEJ and have resorted into fear-mongering.

Sorry Kuku it wont work in 2015, its a banal tactic and already overused. That is why most of us believe the BH threat to Lagos is solely being ochestrated by GEJ team to turn SW against the North.

Our support are no more cheap and can only be earned through visible and verifiable achievements not mischieves, schisms and sentiment-weeping.

How come this "grand" plan (by BH) to bomb Lagos as the FG want us to believe has not been mentioned by any BH face.

I keep asking where are the pictures of BH members arrested in Lagos and the arm-laden tankers?

Can we see these suspects interviewed in Hausa and their hideouts displayed for public knowledge.

How come the Lagos BH members arrested hardly have faces and names displayed like their Northern counterparts?

President Jonathan we know will do anything to come back in 2015. No amount of mischieve or collateral damage is too much to create confusions among his antagonist

President Jonathan is a very predictable leader.

There is no question about if he is finally going to give BH amnesty but its a matter of when.

From a capital NO TO AMNESTY he has moved to AMNESTY with CONDITIONS and they are now testing people's reactions before the final announcement of the package.

President Jonathan is a reactionary Leader and every discerning mind should have seen this coming after near-unanimous call for AMNESTY by many eminent Nigerians.

For those who are still having any form of hope in this regime my advice for you stop wasting your time. What you do not have you cannot give.
