Business / Re: Is CBN Hoarding The Lesser Bills In The Economy? by solowork: 4:21am On Dec 26, 2013
marion g: You could have passed on ur message without d intent to ridicule, bt of course, you are the typical Nairalander who knows all.
Mate, i can list a thousand words than are termed old-fashioned but are of common use today. The world is no longer as rigid as u think it is. See the word http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Peculiarness
I'll advice u thread carefully in ur know-it-all adventure lest u end up making a joke of yourself.

Oh, apologies. I realise now that 'Peculiarness' is indeed a word.

See how easy it is to take correction, "typical Nairalander" who's easily insulted?

Now, can you please do the same and NEVER use 'yuletide' or 'peculiarness' in everyday speech? Even nairaland's spellcheck function does not recognise it. When you type the word in google it suggests 'Peculiarity' first and only shows results on 'peculiarness' when you hit 'Enter'.

IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT THE WORD EXISTS. WHAT MATTERS IS THAT YOU DON'T SOUND LIKE A CLOWN WHEN HAVING A REGULAR CONVERSATION ABOUT THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY.

When you get to your drama class you can knock yourself out using 'yuletide' and 'peculiarness'.
Business / Re: Is CBN Hoarding The Lesser Bills In The Economy? by solowork: 3:48am On Dec 26, 2013
OBUKOMENA: Wetin b "peculiarness" again o!

It's just one of those words that no one uses. But some Nairalander will dig it out from where it is hidden in the dictionary and use it in 2013. The other one is 'yuletide'.
Business / Re: Is CBN Hoarding The Lesser Bills In The Economy? by solowork: 3:32pm On Dec 25, 2013
marion g: I observed it's somewhat common during every yuletide. I don't see any perculiarness this season; that has always been the trend. I may be wrong thou.

Who still says yuletide in 2013? And 'perculiarness' is not a word, 'peculiarity' is the word you're looking for. Can we just speak English like normal people and stop embarrassing ourselves with pretentious words? The idea is to COMMUNICATE.

Bro. He speaks that way. We're based in Boston, and trust me, a Massachusetts influenced accent will make anyone sound very slightly corny. cheesy

That's a good movie, Blackberry or not. I don't believe it was shot with a BB though. The depth of field gave it away.

not bad, but the resolution is too low.

here is a mini music video shot with a HTC Evo Shift cell phone by a Nairalander 3 years ago (just for fun though).

I enjoyed the music. But rap the way you speak normally, you'll express yourself better without sounding corny.

Dude just say "FUCCK IT!" and let the hair grow out, unless you work at a bank or something, in which case you should quit your job and let the hair grow out.

AND STOP BEING SUCH A FRUIT!!!

Culture / Re: Nigerians Have Very Low Self-esteem by solowork: 4:10pm On Dec 13, 2013
The notion that learning INTERNATIONAL languages shows a lack of appreciation for your own culture and therefore amounts to low-self esteem is a little warped. If you can speak one or two Nigerian languages already and you decide to learn Portuguese or Spanish just for the fun of it, I don't see anything wrong with that and it does not mean you have low self-esteem. So open your mind, explore the world, learn an international language because the world is REALLY becoming a global village and you don't want to be left out.

Let's assume its a case of a man killed while tryin to rape a lady.. What's ur reaction going to be??

I'd applaud her for fighting back and advise her to get therapy to manage the trauma.
Crime / Re: Court Remands Man For Killing Alleged Gay Chief by solowork: 12:02pm On Dec 10, 2013
T-smooth:

Hey a$$ hole, are you trying to defend the gay guy? You know what our laws say about gay right?

It's kind of pointless to defend a dead guy, don't you think?

I know "our laws" have not given us the right to MURDER homosexuals yet and I won't be surprised if it does, since only recently pedophilia was almost legalised.

The guy looks capable of evading an attacker's advances without killing him. The self-defence bullshit people are suggesting here won't hold because he killed the man in his own house. I also think it was premeditated murder because I wouldn't go to the home of someone i think is a gay molester to ask him for money. This one-sided tale of scuffle is a lie. He went to his boss' home to kill him.

Yes, nobody should detain him for killing a gay. Gay should never and will never be tolerated in our society.

He's gonna kill you next, because he's just a murderer. It's doesn't matter whom he's killing

I can also kill you and when am asked why, I'll just say it's because you were being such a fahggot.

How do you like that for justice?

Ptoocool:

Same here fa..

But wetin be inverter

Converts Direct Current (battery power) to Alternating Current(AC).

Basically means you get 4 to 8 battaries like this:

connect them to an inverter like this:

And you can tell PHCN to go PHUCK themselves without having to run a noisy generator.

Reporting IN Nigeria is a waste of time. Until the Police are payed enough for their work, such that they not enticed by little bribes, they remain untrustworthy in my eyes.
