@ Somze
Well, great day for both teams
I would have prefered we got a draw though but at least we didn't fall like a pack of cards smiley
The clinic is opening for fans of both teams
Blue fans can suffer from over excitment and Man Utd from ehm ehm forgerit! grin
Ha ha . . . we can take the overexcitement.

You are badly needed for Man Utd . . . it seems ALL their supporters on Nairaland have gone MIA or do they all have sick leave or something? grin

What do you know about football? Go and watch cricket or something!

You should be calling on your nanny to come change you diapers instead of spewing crap.

Dont mind these DSTV boys.

No one can replace Drogba in and out of the team at the moment.
And look at how he has helped us out at big games.
Didier was impressive today. Dribbling, passing and holding up play even when he hardly had a chance at goal. We saw his superb team play and individual efforts.
Some people should be schooled before they're allowed to make posts

Yes. Yes. I have to PRAISE Avram Grant for his brave substitutions today. Unfortunate for Ricky, but we love him all the same whether we win or not.

Ashley Cole has been IMMENSE today.

Drogba needs to check his ego.
Why are you freaking anti-Drogba?

Two people were involved. Drogba was by far the best player today. And the freekick was a great one and produced a great save.

Drogba kept the ball, dribbled and made beautiful passes to remove the pressure from our defense.

Where you watching with your phone? Haba!!!

You guys just want to blame Frank Lampard and Drogba for everything.

How come this thread is freaking empty?

Is it that hard to take a defeat?

Very beautiful game.

Strong team with character.

Didier Drogba was more than a team player today . . . except that scuffle with Ballack for the freekick. He was simply super

Ballack's double preserved our forte at the Bridge.

Grant's subs was super and twice in a row - liverpool and now Man Utd, I can not question his starting eleven.

I was a bit unhappy about Shevy but at last it was a great sub.

Great Game . . .

Liverflukes . . . YOU ARE NEXT!!!

Spurs have signed Luka Modric for £15.8m

Another one bites the dust.
Saw that in the news, very annoying.

Modric is either a Arrow or the whole staff at Chelsea are senseless.

Look at the amount he was bought for and how much they wanted us to pay for him.

Who is in charge of our player acquisition anyway?

Wormedup
Utd defense seemed formidable yesterday.
They stood their ground.
I hope to see a less cagey game on sunday. Missing Lampard is a huge blow already.

Lets see how this will turn out.

I have never argued about about Lamps performance in that match or even his role in the goal conceded . . . I only pointed out that Makalele's irresponsibility caused us that goal. If makalele had not jumped or mistimed his jump, he would have got that ball or at least blocked Kuyt.

How many through balls did Drogba get? NONE. How many clear cut chances? NONE
Torres who by the way wasn't himself was fed much more than Drogba.

I don't want to argue about player's performances in that game.

Grant is lucky and I have no problem with luck, so far as it takes us to the final.

I don't think Grant should be blamed at all. We got a point and that is all that matters.

We just have to maintain our ever present record at SB. We are well on our way to our first CL if things go well; even heaven wants us there. grin

Lets wait till the end of the season to discuss Lampard or the position of any other player. Lampard's overall statistics always cover for his very few errors.

I liked the tactics yesterday but not the mentality and technique. I don't think the players have been mentally ready for big challenges this season. It may be due to the replacement of JM. I want to see them come together and show that strong mental spirit on the pitch. Now we need it more than ever.

Our technique was questionable. We did not hold on to possession except for the first 15 minutes of the game and later on when we had Kalou in the game. I have to say I was both impressed with Kalou and the enviable luck of Grant. Grant is indeed under the Jewish blessings of Abraham, well save for our few failures in the FA Cup, Carling Cup and some other matches we've thrown away.

I do not want to talk about Grant at this time either. I'd like to wait till the end of the season.

I hope we take full advantage of SB on both Man Utd and Liverpool.

For the weekend's game we would have a problem at RB. Did you notice how Babel was a continual threat? Ferreira could not contain him. Ronaldo would make mince meat out of such a performance. We need some one agile to go with Ronaldo.

I would have preferred Obi in the midfield to Maka but the rate at which he concedes freekicks and gets cautioned or sent off by making some careless tackles is a cause of concern.

Lets see how Man Utd play today. I'm guessing counter attacking technique would be used for Barca's worn out and tired defensive legs
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by somze(f): 10:59pm On Apr 22, 2008
Maka jumped carelessly, he did not have to, he would have got d ball. He was very irresponsible.

i maintain that any other player in maka's position would have prevented that goal. Maka is past his prime. Lampard has 18 goals irrespective of his numerous injuries, he has even scored 4 goals in a game against a premiership side, played more consecutive hours in epl, u wanna comapare him wit any other player?

true fans dont speak like reds condemning untouchables at d slightest opportunity. They have their mind, their thoughts and their words. Jm was friends wit saf but how scarcely they publicly agreed on issues. You speak like d red, u should consider ur position.

you are much too anti-lampard and pro man utd, do u need a red shirt?

u r d only one in blue claimin our display was lampard's fault and his inclusion affected d game negatively.

it is as if u speak for someone else. Club loyalty seems to be ever diminishing.

akola have u noticed this?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by somze(f): 10:20pm On Apr 22, 2008
Nateevs
if we had any other player in maka's spot at that goal it would have been prevented. Maka shoulders d responsibility more than any member of d team.

lampard came from injury to play full time - a heroic gesture if we ever had one.

our midfield was jaded and hardly found drogba with great passes. We had 5 midfielders so y blame lampard for our display. Maka was beaten easily, ballack does not cut thru, joe cole is mia, malouda is well . . . Malouda

however i think mentality was our problem. We came to defend but we would have tried to possess more, still results were good so no qualms.

welldone players.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by somze(f): 9:45pm On Apr 22, 2008
Maka was irreasponsible in this game. Caused d goal and beaten easily by gerrard almost causing another.

i dont think we had a good mentality during the game.

heroic of lampard to play from injury.

i think we have a great chance of going thru.

nice cech, nice game at d end even after a bad performance

replay goal,

place terry in maka's place. . . Not a chance for kuyt. Maka jumped knowin he would miss. Kuyt just waited for that. Terrible defending

usin fone so . . .
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by somze(f): 8:42pm On Apr 22, 2008
Makalele has to take more responsibility for the goal. That is no way to defend.

Obi would give more fluidity and possibly bring our midfield into d game.

We need to take control.
