The Jews don't believe in Jesus because doing so would be idolatry because Jesus is supposed to be a man and that would be breaking God's commandments especially 1 and 2.
I don't think we should believe in Jesus either. I think to a large extent, that's why we are suffering in Nigeria, and why God is giving us leaders who don't care for us.
Idolatry is an abomination in God's eyes. We all should desist from it. God has given every man the surest way to get to him/ know who we are...The igbo omenani/odinani and the yorubas Ifa...we abandoned it for a white man that was nailed to a wood. I thought by name we would have been wise...but, trust the black man. |

God use Nebuchadnezzar' to bring everyone to Babylon so they would learn about him. In case you don't know Nebuchadnezzar was God's Messiah. Jeremiah was prophesying for him that's why he was thrown in prison. Just like people go to Europe and America for financial reasons, people went to Babylon in the old days to acquire spiritual knowledge.... Then later on, God raised another Messiah in the person of Cyrus to free all his captives and sent them home...Cyrus asked Ezra and some priest who where knowledgeable in the laws of God to write the Torah....and take home to teach his people.. |

MaxInDHouse: After introducing Himself to the man called Abram God signed a deal with him for a purpose {Genesis 12:1-3} the promise is to use the descendants of Abram for a global campaign in order to save mankind in general.
Abram didn't know what the plan was but he believes something needs to be done to rescue mankind from slavery to sickness and death so he agreed with this spirit who called Himself the Almighty God. Exodus 6:3
Later Abraham had eight children and God told him that the promises will be fulfilled through one of his son called Isaac {Genesis 17:18-21} Isaac also had two sons and God told him that the promise has been transferred to Jacob (Isaac's second son)
Jacob had twelve sons and there was trouble in Jacob's family due to the gift of dreams found in the second to the last born of his son known as Joseph but did God passed the promise to Joseph? NO! It supposed to be given to each first born in the family unless the first born proves to be unworthy of the purpose. Jacob's first, second and third sons proved to be unworthy so the promise was transferred to his fourth son called "Judah"
But if God wants to deliver mankind through the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob then why was He destroying the people of the nations before the Israelites?
To be continued.... I opened a thread sometimes ago titled "the letter killeth" This is exactly what I knew was the position of people. To interpret scriptures that was meant to be understood as allegory, taken as literal. Contrary to popular knowledge, the Torah was not written by Moses, it was written by Ezra when they returned home to their land after the Babylonians exile. Ezra was the one who created Judaism as the national religion of the Jews. Some of (like 80%) of the info was drawn from the Babylonian myths. It is still about the two brothers Enlil and Enki, who would be Esau and Jacob. The stories are the same, the only difference is who is telling the stories. Esau (Enlil )represent the left hand side of God while Jacob(Enki) represent the right hand side of God. Just like Enlil that him, his son's and daughters where not favourable to Marduk, Esau and his son's and daughters where not favourable to the Lord God. Like I always teach, God is the universal divine consciousness. That is within us all( let us make man in our image after our likeness...and God breathed into his nostrils and man became a living being) whatever God breathed into man is the same image and likeness as God while the body is same image and likeness as the earth...(Hence the "US " above is the Lord God and the earth). When people become woke it simply means they realize the God they have been wasting their time going to church and mosque to worship is actually within... Genesis continues by building and developing us in other for us to arrive at the promised land( being woke), the story of oran not impregnating his brother's wife teaches us about the dangers of pleasures without responsibility, while that of Abraham slaughtering the kings, represent elimination of the 6 deadly sins within us.( I.e lust, envy..etc). The children of Esau are the originators of those cities that the Israelites where told to destroy. They represent the negative characters. So we must destroy them. The Amalakites represent doubt. We must totally eliminate doubt within us. We have more power than we think we do. I think I have said much. Anybody who really wants to learn can ask follow up questions. I will oblige them.. Thanks. The woke man. God is man awake. Man is God asleep |

Whether you say God exist or that he does not exist. You are right...
There is an old Hindu saying that if God wished to hide, he would hide in man. Because that is the last place man will ever look to find God...
What the Bible was referring to as God is the universal (divine) consciousness.. Not a Jewish man up in the sky. Different tribes call it by different names... The igbo s..........Chineke. The yorubas ......Olodumare The Binis.............Osanobua The isokos..........Ogene The ishans...........Osanobua The ibibios...,........Abasi Etc. The Jews........Hashem The Babylonians......Marduk The Egyptian.....,....Ra The Romans...........Jupiter The Greeks.......Kronos
Etc. God is pure/divine consciousness...it is the source of all life on earth. We are all connected by this consciousness. We are all pure consciousness experiencing life in multiple ways... I used to have a friend in the UK who could remember the first day of creation. She was so woke. We are the God we keep talking and arguing about here day in day out. We can't see that because we are all covered in different flesh. We are one seeing ourself divided.
You are the creator! We all are! We are eternal beings! We all created everything together. Then gave ourselves amnesia so that we could live learn and explore everything that we created! We are God experiencing itself! We live and die through incarnations coming back and forth learning and growing till we remember everything! Then we All become One again as we ascend upwards becoming more and more One. |

MaxInDHouse: The title "GOD" connotes SUPREME BEING you can't deny the fact that Jehovah's Witnesses are excellently doing the will of God as found written in the Bible so if you think their GOD was created yet the worshipers are fulfilling what the Bible God promised long ago then your own god who can't do anything is DEAD! Psalms 115:4-8
For your information the other guy i shunned has also been blinded by hatred for truth just as you're blinded right now. GOD is a spirit that you can't see so the only evidence of His existence is the activities of His worshipers which must be in line with His purpose for mankind.
Several times you have acknowledged that i'm a competent student of the scriptures but your problem is the source of my knowledge which is through the Bible God - Jesus of Nazareth - his Jewish disciples - Governing Body and Jehovah's Witnesses.
You just want me to cut of Jesus, his disciples, Governing Body and Jehovah's Witnesses so that i can stand as if the knowledge came from tin air the same thing is affecting the other guy but he welcome two more factors which is Jesus and his disciples but the rest he despises with contempt, you guys are not different from atheists who acknowledged that humans like them are intelligent but keep despising the source of life God for reasons best known to them.
So whether you like it or not all your gods are useless and worthless if there is no evidence of it's existence other than what is found written in books because anyone can write books and claim it's inspired but only the true God can make a promise and actualize it within His worshipers not by might or military forces! Zechariah 4:6 Jesus is a creation of the Roman empire, why should I not cut him off? God's promise was for those obeying his commandments not people not people following an idol. So if you like be in a super performing group, as long as you engage in idolatry, you are a traitor....and he commands us to stone such so they don't corrupt the rest and purge the evil... Some Christians may have attributed it as such but it's not amongst the messianic passages as per 2nd temple Jews. Pre Christian Jews do not see it as a messianic prophecy.
Besides no messianic prophecy defines the whole of the Messiah ministry. So I don't get the point of your argument at all. That's the first step.. You will soon understand that Jesus did not fulfill even 1 of the messianic prophesies...you will get there soon. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Catholics Use Images At Worship - Catholic Priest Artist Fr. Nnadi Explains by sonmvayina(m): 8:28pm On Jul 21, 2024 |
Tallesty1: People always give reasons for their actions, even irrational ones. The real question is, what does the Bible say about these things?
"You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments." Exodus 20:4-6.
Some might argue that this is Old Testament and does not count anymore, so let's see what's in the New Testament.
"]But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him." John 4:23-24.
Also, what they post as Jesus, God, or even Mary are not their actual pictures. What they post as Jesus is either Leonardo Da Vinci's painting of his partner or one white actor. Nobody has seen God; I don't know how they got his image, and the woman they post as Mary is actually the statue of a goddess.
If you mention Mary, they lie that they only honor her and not worship her, yet they do it in their prayers. Let's take this one for example:
"We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin."
Even a sane person, even fools, know that the above is a prayer, everyone except Catholics. But you worship a man as god, the likeness of something that is found on earth. Don't you think that is idolatry too? |

For your information i was a Muslim from my childhood so i can confidently tell you that there are many religious groups claiming they are Muslims with different doctrines just as those claiming Christians but there is no single group in Islam that fits into the description you are reading in that Bible book of Isaiah 2:2-4 in fact no religion on planet earth fits in except Jehovah's Witnesses.
Read it again and again:
"God promised that in the final part of the days people from all the geographical locations on this planet will find their way into one religious group and they will use what they found in the Bible to settle their disparities peacefully among themselves, divert their resources into the production of food and information materials stop the production, buying, selling and usage of weapons and vow never to raise weapons against their neighbours"

SIRTee15: So if God can forgive sin without blood, why did he tell Israelites to sacrifice animals and use their blood for atonement. That's My question. If U don't know, say U don't know. sonmvayina: Christians believe that one needs a blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin and that one who does not have a blood sacrifice will die in their sins and go to hell. For Christians, the ultimate and only blood sacrifice that counts with God came in the death of Jesus. Christianity believes that if one does not accept the death of Jesus as one’s blood sacrifice, then one is condemned to an eternity enduring the punishments of hell.
In Judaism the centrality of the animal sacrifices ceased, not with the second destruction of the Temple by the Romans, but rather with the first destruction of the Temple by the Babylonians. One must keep in mind that the vast majority of Jews never returned to the Promised Land under Cyrus of Persia. They remained in Babylonia. By the time Jesus was said to have been born, eighty percent of the world’s Jewish community lived outside the Promised Land, and did not care about the cessation of animal sacrifices. When the Temple was reestablished, the Jews of Babylonia made an annual financial gift for the maintenance of the Temple and the land, but never worried that God would not forgive them their sins without a blood sacrifice (much as Jews all over the world do today). They had no such fear because the Bible makes it explicitly clear that no blood sacrifice is necessary for the forgiveness of sins. The Bible also makes it clear that an animal sacrifice is not the exclusive means of obtaining forgiveness. |

SIRTee15: Ok so we now acknowledge that God demands blood sacrifice for forgiveness of sin from the ancient Israelites.
So the question now is what changed. How come all U need to do now is ask God and he will forgive your sins. Why did he change his mind? When did he change his mind? Why did God abandon the blood sacrifice and is now saying all U need have your sin forgiven is to raise up your hand and ask. Why did he institute above right from the beginning.
I thought God doesn't change, why did he change mind concerning forgiveness of sin. I guess you are not following my point this far. The sacrifice must be done by a priest in a particular place in the temple...but we know the temple has been destroyed several times..in the absence of the temple God requires us to confess and forsake that is the Hallmark of a sincere repentance. When the temple is re established the sacrifice will commence.. See 2nd chronicles 7:14. |

Ken4Christ: You submissions are incorrect. The scripture says;
Hebrews 9:22. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and WITHOUT SHEDDING OF BLOOD IS NO REMISSION.
Let this point above sink into your head first.
Read the verses that followed;
Hebrews 9:23-26. 23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he APPEARED TO PUT AWAY SIN BY THE SACRIFICE OF HIMSELF.
So, where did you get your revelation.
Let me tell you something about the Jews you don't know. The majority of them are hell bound. In fact, the present race of Jews have been cut off from God and they are all in a state of spiritual blindness.
This is why Isaiah wrote;
Isaiah 1:9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
You see how Isaiah likened them to Sodom and Gomorrah. What differentiate them from Sodom and Gomorrah is because of the remnant reserved for salvation. And that will happen in future.
Apostle Paul made reference to this when he wrote;
Romans 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
And he revealed when it will happen;
Romans 11:25-26 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so ALL ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
The phrase, all Israel shall be saved refers to the remnant that will be alive during that period. You have proved my point. All your quote are from the Christian scriptures. Like I said, it is a Christian belief. It got nothing to do with African traditional religion and Judaism. We don't believe in human sacrifice, it is demonic to kill a human for sacrifice... All God requires is a contrite heart Psalm 50/51. See 2nd chronicles 7:14. |
