frank317: You don't think holy spirit turned the Bible and you attack those who say it's false.
Still I don't get ur point... why then do u think theists are wrong for doubting.
You are saying yes and no to remain relevant... you have accepted should not just believe anything they hear... and I have tried God and he failed... God does not exist that why he failed. You can't pray for success and still work hard for success, it shows u don't even believe in ur prayer.
Well it happened, he made a confident claim which h turned out to be false... that's why doubt is good, it leads us to the truth.
@5th question... No. I try my best not to make any man my standard. BTW was that the only miracle that he performed/ God used him to perform that was investigated?

@first quote; I'm not quite sure I totally get your point. How did the Holy Spirit turn the bible... I'm not attacking anyone. if I have then I'm truly sorry for stepping out of line.
. @next quote... I don't think atheists wrong for doubting, I only observe that they never wanna listen to a contrary case. e.g just as Seun judged that brothers testimony. I only tried to get him view things from a more objective angle. you should try and do same.
@third quote; can you elaborate on how you tried him and how he failed... people work hard for success without ever attaining it. Your point there holds no ground.
@fourth quote; did he make other claims? where those claims also investigated? haven't your teachers/lecturers ever information that turned out wrong/false? does it make everything they teach you wrong? I will try and locate the thread later but that thread is no basis to condemn the Mister in seun's quote.

frank317: Seriously, I don't get your point.. do you think the holy spirit actually turned the Bible?
Let me ask you... do you think people should just believe anything they hear, especially when the stories are suspicious?
Dont you think it's better to doubt until you see?
Did you read the thread on how jagbaje healed a HIV patient? I am sure many gullible Christians believed.
Did you see how his 'God ordained" miracle was debunked?
@ first question..... No, not at all. I'm sure you know the parable of the lost sheep out of the hundred sheep and the lost coin. I'm sure you also know that God wants all that are 'lost' to be saved. . @2nd question... No, they must not necessarily do that.
@third question... yes and no, (this can lead to lengthy 'philosophical' gists)... God ask us to test Him to see if he'll prove himself or fail, He asked us to taste of him and see whether He's good.
@fourth question... I have seen some mentions about that by some monikers but never really gone through the thread. not sure I've come across it before.
@5th question... No. I try my best not to make any man my standard. BTW was that the only miracle that he performed/ God used him to perform that was investigated?
Seun: Don't you think it is hypocritical to disobey the very book that you are trying to defend?
This is a valid criticism. Why am I "almost certain" that this woman I've never met is a trickster? I guess it's because I have watched so many documentaries about "miracles" that turned out to not be miracles at all on close examination. I didn't think this case would be the exception.
I didn't understand this part. Are you saying that it's cruel to tell him the truth about an experience that brought him comfort?
I studied it too much? The best way to keep your faith is to read only the bible verses your pastor and daily devotionals direct you to read.
@first quote... he's not being hypocritical... read Ezekiel 3 from verse 17 and Ezekiel 33... .
@2nd quote... this close examination, was it just analysis of what you saw on screen or you made attempts to meet such people that had such miracles, trace their medical records, interview people who actually know them/lived with them/families?
@third quote... truth? at this point there's no truth. your truth is truth for you and his truth is truth for him. BTW whose report should we believe: -You who made conclusion and generalization and conclusion from hear say, his experience which was probably not having all details, (you have no idea the size of the bible, key, if he tried to look out for a tread, amount of light in the room etc. what you put there is nothing but a guess) or -His own report of his own first hand experience whereby he himself sought reasons to disbelieve what was happening before him but couldn't? make yourself the third party and judge.
@fourth quote... Lol. you were almost correct but not just quite there. too much? was it with objectivity? why the study at all? what were you seeking from the Bible then?
Seun: The prophetess is almost certainly a professional magician/fraudster. Magicians can use a combination of two techniques to give you the impression that God told them things about you: cold reading and hot reading.
Cold reading involves saying things that are likely to be true based on their observation of how you talk, what you're wearing, tribe/gender, what you said earlier, etc, reading your body language to confirm the ones that happen to be right and then leading you to supply the details yourself without realising it. Then they use those details you supplied to come up with more related 'revelations' using the same process.
The prophetess said your dad's "enemy" tried to kill him 3 years ago, then your dad filled in the details, "it must have been the time I was constructing a building and I fell sick for 3 months". Then on the basis of your dad's information, she came up with the believable explanation that the reason your dad's enemy tried to kill him is because the enemy was jealous of your dad's house. It's quite easy to fool people.
How did the prophetess know that you are not close to God? Well, you said that you didn't even say amen to her prayers. That's how.
Hot reading involves doing some research on you. Asking other people about you, etc. Then they feed the information to you as a revelation.
That's a cheap magic trick. I've seen more impressive tricks on Youtube. Did you really think Almighty God was rotating a bible for her??
"almost certainly"..... all you put there about the woman is your mere speculation from your bedroom. you didn't even put your feet in his shoes talk less walking in them.
cloudgoddess: That's not his job. It's the sole responsibility of the person claiming an entity exists, to explain, describe, and provide proof for said entity.
then he hasn't been following anything posted previously on the thread.
ifenes: There is no evidence to support any of the claims made in the Bible concerning the existence of a god. Any ‘evidence’ proposed by theists to support the Bible’s various historical and supernatural claims is non-existent at best, manufactured at worst.
Another obvious proof there is no supreme god is the total silence and lack of answers to prayers. No Christian can boast of answered prayers. The prayers claimed to have been answered are always the cheap ones like waking up in the morning or evading an accident. Come to think of it, many god believers suffer as much as unbelievers. There is no unique experience that shows a god is on the side of Christians.
Another obvious one is tithes and offerings. If a god really exists he will collect the tithes or at least reform and update the atrocities committed by pastors.
If there were a godd, the bible would have been updated to this present era. A book last updated over 2 thousand years ago is not fit for our present society. At least we know a cancer research of 1960 is no more relevant 50 years later
If it is true the bible god claimed to have landed on mountain Sinai and showed himself to cave men/ farmers, why can't he do it now and put right many wrongs happening now.
Why are Chrustians always suffering and waiting for miracles promised them without one bit of answers?
ftonya: Im new to this site, I have a very serious question and a very serious demon problem. A close family member put their own blood in my food an I wasn't aware of it an ate it. An been living in hell since then. Before I caught on to what happened that person admitted to putting their blood in my food an that a root was in me an im cursed an laughed in my face. To make a long story short I moved out an far away from them an do not talk to them. Im hurt by this but have forgiven them for this but Im suffering every day with this demon in me that refuses to leave my body an soul. What must I to reverse this demon an curse
you must cancel/break the curse by the power in the name of Jesus. make sure your life is fully committed to God. No power of darkness has a authority over you. Shalom

gadegunle: Calvary greetings to everyone in Jesus name
I was here in the month of april to ask for counsel concerning the battle I was facing in my marriage and Sister Analice and brother Oyeludef gave me counsel on how to overcome the strongholds of witchcraft. God also showed me some revelations which Bro Charles assisted in interpreting them. To God be the glory last night my husband came to beg me for all he has done to me and promised to change. God indeed has been faithful and I know now that he has started the work of restoration he will perfect my husbands salavation too and raise up standards against all our enemies. I Thank God for discovering this wonderful thread indeed God is moving mightly here and no gate of hell shall prevail ijmn.
sister, we celebrate the hand of God upon you life and family with you. God will perfect all that concerns you and your husband in Jesus name, amen.

cloudgoddess: Masturbation is natural. It's a primal act. Even children are sometimes caught masturbating. Religion has an unnecessary preoccupation with what humans do with their genitals. By creating shame and wahala around natural urges, religion effectively traps the minds of people in fear of their own bodies. It's pretty ridiculous.
There have been books written on the harmful effects religion has on people's mentalities about sex, their bodies, & their love lives. Sex and God: How Religion Distorts Sexuality by Darrel Ray is very informative and thorough.
