success is not a matter of the school you attended or any other common misconceptions but a major factor is SELF DEVELOPMENT.

it's speaking in the utterance given to you by the Holy Spirit.

For from the rising of the sun to its setting My name shall be great among the nations, and in every place incense shall be offered to My name, and indeed a pure offering; for My name shall be great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts.

Uuuuhm there was this film "50 shades of grey" then later they got "50 shades of black" same story line but funnier.

give me a rational co-relation here..

your illustration is off

oh oh

johnydon22:
Yeap sure that's the one brother... The older tale is the lie the younger similar work is the truth.

Classic! ...LOL

how much you believe in your 'tablets'... I guess the gospels and other reads of the new testament were gotten from it also

thelish:
How do u explain the fact that a prophet said a thing that came to pass at the exact time he mentioned? Or he gave u your life history in details? Is there any scientific proof to this since u don't believe in God and Satan?
What's the mystery behind that??
Thanks.

Oga Seun seems to have the answer... let's hope he can take out time from his busy schedule.

johnydon22:
This will be interesting, i'll just seat and watch the war that will follow soon...

i.e: the flood story found in the Jewish torah is a young version by a younger civilization [Jews] There were more older semitic myths portraying a flood like the Sumerian Gilgamesh epic [Predates the Torah by almost 10 centuries] and is scholarly recognized as the source from whence the Torah Noah tale was copied...

though it is speculated they may even be older sources than the Gilgamesh epic

**Surely since according to the Jews their founding Father Abraham was from Sumer, there was a lot of cultural and even theological borrow from sumer and other older semitic civilizations..**

I am anticipating a very long mesmerizing war of words and from the looks of comments already seen it would be more of angry vulnerable irrational emotional banters riddled with insults and hurt feelings than an intellectual discourse aimed at arriving at a rational common ground or at least disagree in a kind way.

the Sumerian lies you mean?

How does this one make you feel?

renews my passion to serve God...

O Jesus, I have promised To serve Thee to the end; Be Thou forever near me, My Master and my Friend; I shall not fear the battle If Thou art by my side, Nor wander from the pathway If Thou wilt be my Guide. 2 Oh, let me feel Thee near me; The world is ever near; I see the sights that dazzle, The tempting sounds I hear; My foes are ever near me, Around me and within; But, Jesus, draw Thou nearer, And shield my soul from sin. 3 Oh, let me hear Thee speaking, In accents clear and still, Above the storms of passion, The murmurs of self-will; Oh, speak to reassure me, To hasten, or control; Oh, speak, and make me listen, Thou Guardian of my soul.

I need help please. How do I draw closer to God and be a good Christian despite all the temptations on campus?

Joshua 1:8

Jesus is Lord!

Awake oh my Glory Awake

one pastor once said he doesn't think anyone has ever or will ever see God (God the Father), that anytime anyone has ever or will ever see God, they all see/saw God the sun.
I'm beginning to reason more like him

Codedrock:
"their gods"?? You didn't answer my question right.

... and the answer is?

Codedrock:
You sound funny bro. The answer is just "Life" they are things that happen to people naturally you become successful when you plan act and put in your best and then luck comes in. I can tell you i have met a lot of devoted Christians that have been struggling putting i their best for years and still not attaining success. The problem is Nigerians believe too much in "Spirituality".

so what do you think I meant by self development and right timing?
is spirituality also responsible for kidnapping, corruption?
you only know yourself... there are many people who seem spiritual outside but are full of hypocrisy.

Codedrock:
Well, i guess you really should keep it up. I once was a born again and then i wasn't preached to before i changed i became born again myself and i did a lot of evangelism back then i was the holiest person in the family back then i wouldn't even joke with a lie.

And which church do you attend?

so what happened along the line? and why is my church now of interest.... I attend The Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Codedrock:
Well since your answer is no. I would like to tell u I have heard testimonies like this from Muslims saying God answered their prayers and requests tru mohamed. Do you really think God answered the prayers of someone who didn't come to him tru jesus?? So tell me how his prayers were answered.

No.
via their gods...

Codedrock:
@ sonofthunder

I'm not saying God doesn't answer prayers Trust me he does but only prayers of the fully righteous according to him which is really very scarce to find a fully righteous thesedays.

Can you tell me why Seun 's life is beta than that of a Christian who believes he's fully devoted to christ? I mean in terms of success...

in terms of success?
probably because he has planted a seed of self development at the right time... why would you think a devout Christian isn't successful?
do you know a good number of "successful" people cry themselves to sleep every night?

Codedrock:
When I say serious Christian I mean one who is cautious of sin and doesn't sin willingly believing he's gonna ask for forgiveness after, and also the kinda Christian that does not justify sins not to be sins so as to believe he is truly righteous cos that's what 90% Christians do thesedays.

yes I am a serious Christian.

some churches in Nigeria do much more ..... @op; how did Nigerian churches scam you?

Codedrock:
Ummm.. Been following this thread since it's been created it's quite interesting and I really don't wanna join this argument.
I believe in God and the bible but stopped going to church since January after I realized a lot.

But wait are you a serious Christian I mean like a serious one?? Cos I'm sure you don't sound like one.

brother its not an argument oh. Establishing who a serious Christian is can be relative. I'll like to pass if you don't mind or better still explain what you mean by the phrase serious Christian

Codedrock:
Umm.. so that's your "personal experience". Let me ask a question as a Christian do u believe Islam/Mohhamed is a right pact to God??

I'm typing from my phone so l can't elaborate on certain things or give more at a go pls bear with me... the point of the above is a fore - revelation of what God wanted to do for me.
As regards the question; with all I know about Islam so far, the answer is a No.

Codedrock:
Lol.. well, I actually won't count myself to be a "free thinker" but an "independent thinker".

Ya'll keep saying "personal experience" please can you and sonofthunder kindly tell us 3 personal experiences you've had with God?? And do you really think you will make heaven if rapture takes place right now??

seeking a personal testimony is more of you having something personally from God that wasn't passed down as a story/testimony from anybody to you. even if I give a hundred, those who have decided to be close minded would remain so (speaking generally here)... I had earlier received a promise of a job from God but on this day I was very discouraged and was thinking to myself maybe God had nothing significant or nothing at all for me. when I had a dream and the breakdown of it was a reaffirmation to my getting a job and the source/how it was going to come. within a short while, about a week or less, I got a call that confirmed everything.

Seun:
If studying the Christian scriptures very seriously causes people to become atheists and freethinkers rather than better Christians, doesn't that suggest that Christianity is false? If something is true, studying it very seriously will make you believe it even more. Why can't you see this?

Sir, studying the scriptures has made a lot of people become better Christians.... study of science has also made a lot to seek out for God. I want you to understand that my point is not for you to close your mind to your own story/knowledge but to objectively seek the other side I'm presenting... shikena

foolinlove:
Because they're manipulators, liars, cheats and thieves.

clearly, you are judging.

Psalm 150

1PRAISE THE Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the heavens of His power!
2Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to the abundance of His greatness!(A)

3Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with lute and harp!

4Praise Him with tambourine and [single or group] dance; praise Him with stringed and wind instruments or flutes!

5Praise Him with resounding cymbals; praise Him with loud clashing cymbals!

6Let everything that has breath and every breath of life praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

by increasing in the fullness of God's Spirit

you should cry out to God against stagnation/Retrogression. God bless you sir

Codedrock:
Seun this response of yours got me.. I'm not an atheist but umm.. Seun Is actually right. As an introvert I think deeply about different verses in the bible a lot as they actually don't make much sense, different interpretations here and there...
Either ways a lot of instincts still make believe there is God.

But Seun if you don't mind you've been an atheist for how many years now??

Interesting thread still FOLLOWING...

and you think other genuine Christians never found themselves in this stage? pls make sure you taste of God and have your own personal testimony of Him... an inability to attain to that is why most people fall from God. If you notice, they always point to other peoples testimony never having/recognizing Thiers.
