I love the Sport but when folks see you in a RRS let's say 2007, they'd think you are far affluent than the guy who drives a Lexus RX350 2011.

I believe that the unecessary attention on the Sport is because of the way we sit on the seat and it makes it look like you are posing, even with our big tommy, we are still posing. But the Lr3 with the front seat is designed to go anywhere, with the Ac, powered by 2 evaporators and a dvd player in the middle, it is a child delight to take charge of the rear seats.

My OIl and filter come with me from England!I will never put those vegetable oils they call Engine oils in my car, This has fried my Jeep and My generator already, I have since learnt my lesson!

That's is the hurdle we are still facing here but it is the owners that requires the cheap oil and they will say it doesn't matter, where am I going?

Hmmmm, nothing to do than to fix the problem when it arises. Funny enough the lr3 has a better ride handling than the Sport. It was certified on the Elegushi Eleko shoreline years ago, the engine is the same with the Sport, and also the transmission and air suspension are the same. The owners tend to look down on themselves that they are driving the entry level of the luxury brand and therefore are not too keen on taking adequate care of the car. They will be inside their cars and envying Sport and forgetting that they have a 3 seater car that even Sport later gave their newer models. And the most funny story of all is that it is cheaper to maintain. It's when you give it to those that are not adept at the car, that is when you start spending money unnecessary.

Not really, it is just the market demand for it is waning. And most of the owners are managers and not directors.

A gear specialist confirmed it's the reverse fibre. But he suspects other things may have also gone bad in the gear. That he will confirm once he sees the inside.
My worry now is that I may not be able to afford Toyota type iv 8 liters after the job is done. Please what will advice and what other alternatives can I use, until I am able to afford the recommended type iv.

Oando claimed to be Dexron 3h and they listed Type Tiv as one of the oils their ATF can handle. Manage that first.

Lastma does not have any right to impound a car and take it away. They are for traffic control and management. The government has warned them to focus on their task and their GM warned them to behave well after the endsars wahala. Taking the car to a mobile court where you can not plead not guilty and the court will depend upon the written testimony of an official who is hungry and need extra cash

where is your location? I can give you numbers of oil suppliers if your location is good for high premium oil or top am Oils

I have read severally here that the recommended oil for my car is Toyota Type iv and I stuck religiously to that. But last year I had cause to work on my engine and after the work the mechanic said I needed to buy transmission fluid to fill up my get system. I got the type iv for him but by then they already closed for the day. The next day, when I came I saw they have finished the work and steaming the car. I asked the boys that I met there about my transmission fluid and they said they already used. I asked for the container they couldn't find it immediately. Somehow I suspected they didn't use the type iv.
After a about two months, my gear stopped selecting reverse unless I revv the car. I went to a gear guy and he said I should top it up with type iv and watch it. I did and it worked fine for sometime and has now gone back to not selecting reverse unless I revv.
I am at a lost on what to do, can't afford Changing gear in this economy. Car is Toyota Avalon 2001

You should have drained the oil immediately and use the right one instead of topping it. Let someone change the fibres for you instead of changing the gear

How do even know that it is original. Few days ago police arrested a man in Lagos and arraigned him in court for refilling Mobile and fort oil gallons with whatever that suits him. He has so many litres filled and many are already in the Market. That is why I'm looking for this new product Prime Guard Oil, at least it is new without adulteration.

In my yard I see a man collecting used gallons of Mobil xhp and I keep destroying the labels but he found a new way to beat my surveillance. Buying from people who does not have any stake in the business is a risk. I have recommended Motul and Addinnol because I have met with the manufacturers. And the reps here are up to the task

You are very correct but besides API, why don't you just show us the company's website and the peer reviews about the oil. Like you can notice with foreign oils, I allow everyone to come on board and talk about their products. The Royal purple is reading the thread and he will soon give a robust response

It is a voluntary exercise that requires no enforcement. Just post what Americans are saying about the full synthetic oil because it is only on Konga and Jumia that we are hearing about the oil.

I saw it but there is no review of the product on the web. Amalie and Twinco Romax have been touted to produce the oil but no review. The link that you quoted shows API licencing but no review. What particular car are you planning to use it on??

The search for Prime guard has been very difficult like looking for money in a beach. I went to PQIA website and the last Prime guard that they attested to was in 2017 and then the 5w30 full synthetic API SP in 2020. The oil seems to be more promoted here in Konga and Jumia than on any American website.

I also once queried the sellers of Duramax synthetic that it was only their synthetic blend that PQIA could certify. And it is still very obvious. I also learnt that Carquest is made by Valvoline which also uses (my) SYNGARD technology. And SYNGARD made Extreme synthetic blend, one of the best engine oils made for cars produced for the American market. Long story and we are still unraveling .........

These were the ones I was talking about yesterday and they are the oils recommended by Mobil for Toyota cars. Good to know that we have many better choices and options available to motorists. We have eliminated the use of our locally manufactured oils for use on our cars imported from the USA. I believe that Carquest and many Oil sellers should save our cars from becoming junk cars because we don't know the availability of the oil for our cars.

I have tried several times by patronage. I bought 6 gallons of Castrol extended from him last December and he is still not satisfied. I normally don't buy Oil from people that have issues with me but I still did with him so that he will grow up. He is still learning and we need his oil but I am not owing him. I have paid him for the amount that I am owing him and if he claims that he is from Benin, there are list of items that he was supposed to bring for appeasement to his elders. Let him go and do likewise

small Bros, happy new year. Less than 100 people are owing Amcon 5 trillion and they're still breathing. I forget to mention that I was owing the Rymco guy for selling substandard engine oil and he brought a letter from a lawyer who later told him to forget about it because my customers cars were worse for it. I also remember that I was owing Oando over 2m but because of the damages their 5w40 synthetic oil did to my range Rover Sport and 7 other owners, I refused to pay. I still have the test results for SGS Paris where they took the oil samples for analysis. If you claim that I am owing you, know for sure that your oil is not what it should be. Please run away from me and my thread.

please put the gallon picture on the thread so that we can understand the oil and it's use. There was a product called Rymco that my friend was importing from Holland. The website of the company has an oil finder where you can find the particular oil that is suitable for the kind of car you drive. I used it and it showed me that my friend was selling the oil and it was not suitable for any range rover brand. I stopped working with him and ensured that his oil was banned in our yard as a lot of other mechanics realized that the oil dries up. Engines are becoming more expensive nowadays but I rather rebuild the engine than to buy from the open market. Tokunbo engines are not foolproof and the condition of the engine is unknown. It's like putting a new heart without knowing the status of the heart. Be wise and use the right oil for your car. Prevention is better than cure.
