USPlaceofAutos:I was invited to look at the oil. The atf can shows mercon and BMW 5hp while your spec sheet is showing BMW 6hp and mercon lv, so. Which one is the true picture? |
mayor2013:Check out the atf and compare it with the data sheet. Mercon is what they specify. I am not condemning any oil but it should be stated as it is. Then we will buy for certain cars. In his spec sheet for atf, he claimed that the six speed version of BMW can be used with the oil. Check out the can. It is BMW 5hp. Check out other atf and see what they say.... His products are good but for certain cars. Engines and transmission are very expensive. Choose well
|
USPlaceofAutos:I am through with the oil. It is not suitable for use in most cars except Toyota and Honda and Kia cars. You are the one selling the oil. Show us where apqi certified duramax and you claimed the it is on the can. Api is not apqi. In the era of advanced full synthetic oil, why sell full synthetic oil? I was invited to look at the oil and I have given my opinion. It might not be accurate but I know the oil and I can't use it on an Lr3 v6 talk less of a Range Rover full body. |
mayor2013:Oga, I am already using the advanced full synthetic oil and I don't see any reason to use these type of oil for oil sake. |
Why are they not selling this oil?
|
mayor2013:Mayor2013, my oga at the top. I wrote about Mobil 1 for hondas and Toyota. I also advised that duramax should tell everyone to use it for hondas and Toyota and Kia cars. That way, it will serve its purpose. What is on the spec sheets for the atf is not on the can for Ford transmission. I will show you the picture of the can when I get to the workshop. They should follow the path of GLife and rephrase the usage to Japanese cars. You glossed over the meaning of advanced full synthetic oil and full synthetic oil. Will Volvo recommend it for their cars? |
helpishere:Bros, you have spoken well. Most of these atf are 5 speed and are not suitable for the claims they showed. I once used 2 litres of the oil on a Ford F150 and na trouble I see. Until we read well, we will not know that G Life engine oil is for compact cars and they wrote it at the back of the gallon. Let duramax write it on their gallon that the oil is suitable for Toyota, Honda and Kia cars so as not to mislead people in buying the oil because it is 5w30 or 0w20. Mobil 1 used their church mind create oil for Toyota and Honda cars but it is an advanced full synthetic oil. Is it just a title or advanced is higher than the full synthetic? |
mayor2013:Good to hear that it worked out for you but like you stated for the atf, you said that you used it on Ford gear. Which of the Ford? It does not work on Ford requiring mercon sp and lv. And like I stated for which you just confirmed, it might be suitable for Toyota cars. But have you tried it on the real cars? |
bravolad:It will be a good idea too but let him show us proof that there has been an improvement in the product and not the management when all that they do is to distribute. That said, the 0w20 that worked for your car, can it work for a Range Rover or a BMW? I once challenged Eterna oil on their 5w20 castrol professionel. That oil is an api sl and anyone looking for castrol will think that it was the current oil. There's a Mobil 1 that is in the market and they wrote suitable for hondas, Toyota. There's Glife in the market and the oil says that it is suitable for compact cars and I see people buying it for their v8 Lexus. Is a v8 engine a compact car? He also claimed that apqi logo is on their oil can but I can't find it on the can. Let him show us reviews from the Americans and we will then believe him. That many garages uses the product does not mean that it is suitable for use. Did we not buy rymco oil before? Oil that dries up, is that one oyel? |
[quote author=USPlaceofAutos post=73782111]You said years ago. All the people you have mentioned aren't here anymore. The management has improved in its services. So we await your claims because you need to be sure before matters like this.[/quote At least we know what we are talking about. My friend digitrack buys from you and I still see the atf in my yard. I stopped using the atf because it is mercon v which is strange for a dexron 6 while other dexron 6 in the market are sp, lv for ford vehicles. If you are sure that things have changed since those guys left, show us proof from bobistheoilguy and apqi that the synthetic oil has been approved based on the improvement made by Reilly's. |
USPlaceofAutos:Kemi spoke to me from your office years back and promised to send me the spec sheets of the synthetic oil. There's a very fair guy with glasses who came with another guy and they were marketing the oil. I agreed with the atf but for the 5w30, we disagreed based on bobistheoilguy reports and even though Reilly is a supporter of apqi, they approved the blend but we never saw the approval for the full synthetic. In an era of advanced full synthetic, who is bothered with full synthetic? |
My people, thanks for inviting me. OP, according to the American petroleum quality institute, they have certified duramax 5w30 synthetic blend as meeting the standard and not the full synthetic. We have discussed this oil issue with them in my office and in the end, we agreed that they should send me the details of the oil. Google the US market about the oil, there's a lot of sad tales about the oil. We bring any oil as long as it is 5w30 but the certification is not there. Duramax synthetic blend meets the standard it claims to satisfy and a lot of folks in the US are running away from the oil. |
princecemo:I had thought that the original version of pure guard is suitable for Sp4 and Dw1. Why are you selling the old pure guard ? |
erico2k2:Thanks so much. The question now is this: does summer tyres have temperature b or c? |
erico2k2:Bros, for UK yes. Do you use summer tyres all year round? Does Texas use summer tyres all year round? Let's copy those countries that use it all year. |
9icetoo:Going through the links, I was expecting an authority from the middle east that you referred to. Summer tyres from the date of manufacturing does not exceed 4 years. When you quote the US that even use M+S rated tyres, you will find out that they limit the speed of the tyres in order to make the tyres useful for both seasons. Frsc are the authority that determines the type of tyre that they want to be on our roads. And very soon, they will be carrying guns and if you know, you know |
flecho:Between Total, Oando, Forte and Mobil, I can't tell because I have not been to their lube plant. Total lube plant that I have been to is worse when compared with Seahorse plant in Nnewi |
Kewtt:Temperature B on a tire is ideal for winter seasons because it performs better in snow. It also has limited capacity for summer time and therefore the speed is restricted. The tyre, being the point of contact with the car and the road is prevented from getting to a certain speed during both seasons because of the texture. |
Tires expires after 4 years. You don't need a manufacturer to tell you that. It also depends on the climatic condition. Switzerland has two sets of tyres for every new vehicle purchased and at the end of four years, it is discarded. For Nigerian road conditions, it is 4 years because of our hot environment and that is why the need to falsify the manufacturing date is now in vogue in the country. The most important reason to change your tyres is if it has temperature B or C written on the tyres. That's suicidal. As for getting a bump with low tire pressure, hmm, it is mostly caused by over inflation and once the tyre hits a kerb, it gets swollen. Another factor is speed index. |
Bighead9:As long as you do oil change every 3 months, I will say don't bother. |
nakoks:It is the supposed educated elites that are guilty of this |
flecho:At your own risk. Mechanics are not smiling o |
I have used the oil on 2 occasions, one was the 0w20 for a 2011 Toyota avensis and another C2 engine oil 5w30 for a 2014 range rover sport diesel. These are first class oils that are made by the Germans. They also have cetane booster and diesel fuel injector cleaner. The range rover sport in the picture was revived by the products of the brand. But like the MD stated, always check out the manufacturer specifications and adhere to it.
|
nakoks:Bros, me too I weak. I used to work with them and I had bought five drums of oleum syn at different times and the oil was wonderful. This was long before they started selling it in gallons. When they introduced it in gallons, I had assumed it was the same quality and so I kept using it for my Sports and recommended it to others. I have over 10 range rover sports that the oil destroyed and some are still parked in my workshop waiting to order new engines. Oando does not have quality control and assurance measures in place and so everyone is taking a risk buying the oil. The reports of the oil sent to me by them was years after the deed has been done and so we are waiting for the opportunity to sue them for destroying the engines. |
HeavenlyBang:I will respond to the oil after later . But I know about it
|
flecho:Not turning thick but watery. It loses its viscosity by the second month, on most cars and that was when they had oleum Xm. But I have used the sl recently on a range sport engine that was overhauled, to run the engine instead of using used oil and it was a mistake, a very big mistake and we quickly drained the oil and used Castrol and it was OK |
lapo:Most likely it will be the valve body of the gear. Some good guys can service it well. You must have probably used the wrong oil hence it has destroyed the drive fibers. So two scenarios but repair is better than replacing. I once made the mistake of changing the gearbox on a G35 instead of fixing it. Till date, I have not been refunded my money and 3 years down the road. Let them check it out before you conclude. |
lapo:Total Mvlv is sold for 3500 a litre and you should be looking at 7 to 8 litres |
lapo:Total now has dexron 6 and very suitable for your car. Buy from their outlet. Repair is better if you have a good technician |
Kewtt:Polytron is a concentrate that you will add to your engine oil to improve its performance. I have been using it since 2011 but that was when there was no good oil. If you want to use those local synthetic oil , adding polytron to the engine oil will give it a major boost. It reduces noises in the engine and even if the oil dries up, it will still be going. From my experience, it is possible for Oil to dry up and the engine will still be going but not for Range Rovers. It didn't save my engine when oando oil destroyed my range sport engine because according to its video, the polytron takes over the task of protecting the metals, pistons and the internal combustion of the engine and they showed us the video of a small car with the cylinder cover taken off and driving on the beach with sand entering the car. Mind you, the bonnet was removed also and the car excelled. Long story short, I don't use it for general oil service but whenever I overhaul any engine, that's what I will add to the engine oil and it does wonders about noise, stability and power. |
Kewtt:Guy, you dey find trouble o |
flecho:Oando used to have Sl. Xl and Xm and their Xm used to be Api Sm and my experience with the oil was that by 2 months of usage, it has lost its viscosity and even groundnut oil is thicker than the oil. How they made Sokoto Lagos SL, that's what they call it, to become SM is something that they need to come and explain to us. I will wait for them to comment on this upgrade. The same way they upgraded their dexron 111 to 111h and giving the oil supernatural power of what it is not capable of doing. |
