I hope we will not read the trials of bro jero here again. Range Rover is the best SUV in the world. Their customer service is peopled by Indians who drive right hand Suzuki and mahindra. If you are fixing a range, please try and speak pidgin while you are repairing the car else it will start malfunctioning. |
erico2k2:Very correct. I recently bought alternator for 2011 avensis for 100k. The owner has refused to pay and pick up the car. He has been blaming me for buying too high. He later called another Toyota dealer and they told him 200k for the same alternator. |
Lexusgs430:Nothing is wrong with the key. All lost keys can be reprogrammed with the same key. Try that method first and let us see how it goes |
Put the key beneath the steering. There's a spot where it will be for the lights to come on but if it doesn't come on. Lejuen3 will come down to fix it irrespective of location. Try it first and let us know. Na bar beach I sabi before o until wicked people carry am go away. |
greenhulk:The first picture, are you sure it is for 2005 acura? Because API SJ is 1999-2000 ant it is before API SL.. This oil recommendation is the same for v6 baby boy 2001 |
HeavenlyBang:Na lie o, I am learning here. Greenhulk is good and he reads well. But I learnt today that Range Rover is recommended alongside Nissan Juke. So why will Range Rover tell us that continuous use of low octane fuel will destroy the engine and yet it is recommended. I think we should keep this topic till dangote begins production with his refinery then we can decide to use premium or regular. I know a lot of people who go to Ghana just to buy premium fuel for their cars and then return back to the sad situation at home. Greenhulk, you can read for Africa. I am impressed. |
I have learnt a lot today. Thanks greenhulk. The report that you just added has said it all. The savings that you will make using regular fuel is not to be compared to the damages that will occur to your engine. The sluggishness of your car from using regular fuel will eventually destroy the engine. All these are stated on Edmund reports. Toyota recommended 91ron or higher, higher to where? In some manual that volvos60 once posted, it says 95. You can also see that Range Rover is on the same list with Nissan Juke to use the same fuel. Is Juke, a 1.6 engine, a high compression engine as the range? We don't have premium fuel here in the country, so the issue is not the choice but to let people know that most of the problems with their cars is caused by the fuel that they put in their cars. I |
greenhulk:Bros, I rest my case. But what is recommended and only.? Ask anyone with the manual for current Toyota and ask if 95 Ron is regular or premium. All acuras are premium fuel only, same way Nissan tells you to use premium fuel for maximum performance. I have said it that I will rather buy a 2001 Eclass than buy a 2018 Toyota Camry and I stick to it. |
greenhulk:Kai, greenhulk must have slept very well today. I said the current toyotas are using premium fuel and I know Lexus does not recommend, they say only. If Toyota has brake assist in 2007, then who did the EU give the warning to and in what year? If Acura now uses regular, how come evil spirit uses premium fuel? |
HeavenlyBang:Hmm. I once stated that the Mercedes Eclass 240 of 2001, the things that are loaded in that car is not available in 2018 Toyota Camry. One is the brake assist. The EU has made it mandatory that all cars sold there must be equipped with it. Brake assist is standard on all Benz from 1998. That's is one of the highlights. That greenhulk that was yabbing our Range Rovers, it is true that they are abandoned in the workshop but it is not as a result of reliability issues. It is caused by negligence. My Sport engine exploded on 3rd mainland all because I was using Oando syn and I know over 10 other people that their engines packed up for the same reason. BMW is reliable unless you cut corners in the maintenance. The good news for Toyota lovers is that the car now uses premium fuel and what is happening to the European cars will soon become common place with Japanese brands. |
LeJeun3:Abeg send some fish come my side o |
and some people will blame kazeems. |
LeJeun3:You know say na because of my friend AMbode, my friend, that is why I have not come to check out the first autobiography from London, that is why. Was is not in your workshop that I saw flying boat the other day? From your base on the Island to tincan by sea, na 30 mins. Abi traffic dey for river? |
king406:BMW will not just overheat on its own except the cooling system is not very active. Some use water while some use Abro coolant and the oil too is a coolant and if you use the right oil for the BMW, unless the car suffers coolant loss regularly, there is no way it will overheat when all factors are in order. The brand is good but I happen to know that the ones bought locally are prone to reliability issues than the US specs. There is hardly anyone bringing in European specs of these cars anymore. it is US all the way and maybe you should adapt to the oils for these cars especially that your sweet e350. Use the US spec of the mobil 1. The benz too, if properly scanned will be showing from time to time, cylinder misfire. Be warned, na so them dey start. Dont go about changing plugs, low octane fuel is doing ts job. It is not only turbo charged that requires premium, the turbo require a higher premium that is why Benz will write on your fuel tank 91 RON minimum. AMGs uses 93 RON and it is a factor why these cars dont last on our roads |
At 145k per liter fuel on a 4.4 litre engine, it has come to the point to choose where you want to go. Mtn slogan of everywhere you go has ended. It is now we are behind you. Even my ile zik axis, once the lastma guys leave, to cross over is 2 hours. For island, canoe nor dey, no used fridge be canoe and it can capsize. Ikpoba river for Benin will not like it if Na island river carry me go sea and that Mile 2, Na double sword, fear of robbers and wasting fuel all because I want to waka for Lagos. Lagos is only good on Sundays where from Victoria Island to Trade fair is 20 minutes, where Ikeja to ikoyi is 16mins. That's when Lagos is good. |
erico2k2:Ambode ke, anyway, welcome back. I must come and see the car. Except it is on the island o but anywhere in Lagos but not mile 2 axis. Let me know |
king406:I meant that you were using the wrong engine oil for the BMW |
So the autobiography has entered the country without my permission. I need the steering column of that car. That is for settlement. Lejuen, do the necessary and report to me at once |
What do you expect from a car that requires premium unleaded fuel only and you use the lowest octane rating available? That's why the cars are no longer visible on the road. They are parked safely in the workshop or in the house of the owner. King406, were you using Castrol engine oil when you had the BMW? Have you ever asked if BMW uses engine oil that is for petrol and diesel or for gasoline engine only. Not all Castrol are Castrol especially the ones sold locally that is api sn and ilsac 4. The cars are still on the road, especially the new ones and if we ask, where is the vboot, regular Benz that every roadside mechanic can relate to, The Passats, the Bora and the acura? They have all Gone with the wind. |
zonga:One oil grade 5w30 that is suitable for all cars is something to be wary of. Same oil is fuel and diesel and also compatible with conventional oil. I beg, bring some samples and let me see how good they are on cars. |
Luther0luther:There is nothing like dexron 4 except you mean type tiv. It is backward compatible. Funny enough, I am going to lose money because of this Atf because it is a six speed gear oil and mine Syngard is 6 speed but more expensive |
Yes. Ah that our E class. Dexron 3h will fit in. Look for that product. Don't trust Oando anyway . Total also has fluide at 42. Might help as well but I can't recall the spec sheet. I used to have it as far back as 2012. |
weyreypey:3500 a litre |
Luther0luther:Sure, it is the best thing in the automobile world right now. No more deadly Atf |
15500k for 5litres and 3500 for dexron 6 with special emphasis on dw1. |
It has been confirmed that Total 5w30 engine oil is now in their stations. The dexron 6 transmission fluid is here too to save our gears. Dw1 users have been given a respite. More details later
|
When you get the car, get in touch Arrow144: |
com1234:It is a sign that these companies know that they are doing evil to us. Imagine the cars that their old oils have destroyed. The fluide iid that was made for 1979 cars being sold in 2017. Now that they have improved, let's deal with the other oil sellers. Since 2009, cars have been using 0w20 and no Nigerian oil company is producing the oil for our cars. Pity |
com1234:They have it at the one close to Sheraton and old toll gate in Ikeja 15500 a gallon of 5 litres |
Finally saw the new Total 5w30 engine oil. Good initiative from Total though late but better than never. Another good thing is that they have dexron 6 transmission fluid that's is ideal for a lot of our modern cars. Dw1 users have a better choice now and Toyota, Nissan, Peugeot and many others. The gear oil is 3500 per liter, so no more deadly fluide iid. I will wait for the spec sheet from them before I can comment but the engine oil has a lot of approvals especially the elusive Peugeot B71 series.

Good choice. The Turbo issue was rectified in 2013 models. Use the right oil. If it is not Castrol, then no dice. The parts are available especially the wear and tear aspect. Congrats in advance |
helpishere:It is a long story. The bottom line is that the air intake sucks in water from the windshield and it gets into the Turbo and voila, the car starts to malfunction. The only way is to redirect the air intake from getting air and water to protect the Turbo |
