The deed has been done and Wizkid has brought shame on himself. How could any sensible being engage his fan in a fight? I think it was time he replaced kid in his name to man, maybe that would serve as a reminder to him that he is no longer a small boy. |

Three days ago, while I was traveling from Ede in Osun state back to my base, I decided to go online and update myself with developments in Nigeria and I came across a piece of news on amendments being made by the Nigerian Senate on the 1999 Constitution as amended. And I learned that the Senate SAT and MADE a resolution BARRING any former Vice President who INHERITS and COMPLETES the tenure of his superior, from VYING for a second tenure, if he had subsequently CONTESTED, WON and SERVED a single term other than the one he inherited. I would not want to highlight the reason behind this obnoxious resolution because it is glaring to all that this resolution is not aimed at deepening democracy or to enhance good governance in Nigeria. We have more pressing problems on our hands that needed to be tackled but it is the less pressing needs that we give more attention. Is that not stupidity, if it is not, then what is? Is it not stupidity for a country's entire Senate to seat and make laws based chiefly on one individual out of over 180 million Nigerians? Tell me, how bad it could get more than this. First, here is a pozer I’d liked to raise: Since the Nigerian Constitution provides for a possible two terms of four years each, which amounts to eight years, for positions such as that of a president, will a vice President who inherits the position of his superior a month to the end of that tenure, be deprived of the constitutional provision of being entitled to eight years because he had obeyed another legitimate provision of the constitution, that had invested in him the office of the President, albeit, a month? Now, is it not stupidity and an abuse of representative government and the tenets of democracy, for a senate to sit, consider, deliberate and go further to bar an individual from enjoying the constitutionally provided two terms tenure? And yet the Senate does not find it appropriate to take a similar step to bar those who got to power through the barrels of the gun; through the staging of coups or toppling existing governments in the past? Critically look into it and then tell me if this razzmatazz of a resolution is not stupidity. You could further go ahead to tell me what is the correct definition of stupidity if you don’t consider this action as one. But am I surprised? Not at all, nothing surprises me in Nigeria anymore. We are only good at making discontent noises- cacophony if you like. Obasanjo participated in a coup and contested and won the 1999 and 2003 presidential elections in this country. President Buhari is also a beneficiary of a coup that toppled the reign of former President Shehu Aliyu Shagari, a democratically elected president and today he is a sitting president. Tomorrow, it could be the turn of... More. |

Who is a leader? What are his or her roles as a leader? Are there different denominators that characterize leaders in one society, Nigeria for instance, to those of other climes? What is the chief purpose why a leader is needed among a group of people? What makes a good, effective, efficient and a successful leader? Are the leaders born or they are made? Someone stated that ‘every society gets the leadership that it deserves’, and I couldn’t have agreed more. Everyone one of us is first a member of one family and a larger society or the other. The leader is not necessary born but made. A leader is first conditioned by his society, before any other. So, how had the family and the society raised those who they had entrusted with leadership? Were the people ever told and taught the essence of leadership? Do they understand that you don’t seek to become a leader for your sake but for others? Were they also instructed by those who nurtured them that you don’t occupy the position of leadership if you have got nothing to give or improve the lives of your subjects? What Leadership is not · It is not an opportunity to acquire wealth · It is not an opportunity to acquire fame · It is not an opportunity to showcase power What Leadership is · Leadership is an opportunity to serve · It is an opportunity to improve the lives of others · It is an opportunity to defend the weak · It an opportunity to motivate subjects to the discovery of self-worth · It is an opportunity to unite subject, irrespective of differences that may exist In a simple term, one could liken a leader to a shepherd, who guides his herds to the best vegetation he could find so they could feed and be well nurtured, without caring for the distance he had to cover to achieve that. And again a leader could also be likened to a ‘true’ father, in a family setting, who goes out to look for what he and his family will survive on and if his getting were to be insufficient to reach everyone, he will be the first mouth to be exempted from eating. For as long as his children can feed, he is satisfied. I think that aptly defines what sacrifice entails. Many a man have been found wanting in this responsibility and have instead left it to their wives, many of who have played it very well. But, is it not a shame that a man should abscond from his duties and responsibilities as the head and leader of the home, leaving the woman to play the dual roles of the home builder and the breadwinner? It seems, just as this lack of true leadership is reigning supreme in the home front, it has taken more proportional dimension in our societal, community, state and national lives. According to HuffPost True leaders know that their success is intimately tied to the work of the collective. One person doesn't win a war, election, or football game. It is a team approach where each person in the organization knows that he or she has an important role to play... MORE |

There's a lady I've known from when I was a little child. I heard and read so much about her and as a child, I innocently fell in love with her. I don't know if she ever got to know about my feelings for her. The feelings lasted far longer that I could have imagined. I never cared about her age, she was my senior by some decades, yet I loved her non- stop. I never would have known that someday, somehow, my love for her would ever be shaken, but that is exactly what has happened. She's taken ill as of late, well it's been a while now since she took ill and there seems to be no cure or help in sight. Her beauty is all gone due to the number of men that had went into her, by lying and deceiving her. On top of that, she's been used and abused by those whom she had given everything. Those whom she had trusted to be her guides due- to her inability to use her poor eyesight- took advantage of her and had their ways with her again and again. They left her with children that they have refused to care after. Lies about her abound, and they seem to come from all sides. Some said she is a lady who is easily trapped by 'sweet mouth' and others say she goes 'chasing' after men of no repute nor means. It just breaks my heart to see my once envious lady become a shadow of herself. I no longer go to her place to hear her reel out one story after another like I was used too when I was a child because I have found out that she even lied to me in many of such stories such as the one she said I was one of tomorrow's leaders. She never told me there was no tomorrow. She never told me that the leaders of yesterday would recycle themselves and steal my tomorrow. She never told me that my fathers will fight me to have her when it was my turn...MORE |
Hey folks, It is great to have you join me. Now listen, there has never been a time when the coast was clearer to start an economic activity neither is there a better time than now. It is glaring to all and sundry that our nation and the leaders who had ruled it over the years have failed us by not providing the necessary infrastructure for majority of graduates to find employment, so it has become important for us to take the bull by the horn and find a source of living that sustains and empower us to achieve our goals in life. Of course, not every one of us can pursue entrepreneurship; it is equally true that not every one of us is called for monthly salaried jobs. So, don’t go join the bandwagons that are always on the lookout for a better time. That time is now. And I know you are ready to bring to live your home business. In our younger days, we all toiled with the idea of leaving the rate race by owning our own businesses. We had called it a passion or a dream. However, achieving that long held dream now seems to have eluded many of us. What happen? Could it be that the 9 -5 offered us better alternatives? I doubt much. Some of us just got entangled in the rat race that we lost our confidence of going for our passion. But, all is not lost, because you can still achieve that dream. It is never too late to own your home business and a make success of it. If you are ready for the rediscovery of that dream, why not, pursue it, because it is possible? Now this is so important, because without economic freedom and power, we won’t even contemplate freeing our nation from the economic hardship we have found ourselves, as caused by poor or bad governance. In case you don’t know, bad governance is the bane of development. Our nation, Nigeria, has remain in a static position, and even when it makes some motions, they are backward motions, because a majority of the people are dependent on the government for virtually everything and thus robbing us the ability to challenge the poor governance that we have all been witnesses to. So if you want to play an important role in the future, in terms of the leadership of this country, you have a need to be economically empowered first and online business is one of the ways towards this. Why Online Business? One of the first complains that many job-seekers are quick to make when presented with the option of starting own business is the issue of capital, and the cost of starting. But truth is not every business requires a huge capital availability before it was started, and that is where online businesses come very handy. What are the benefits of running an online business from Home? No matter how sound other opportunities in the traditional business might be, the start-up costs, overhead and low margins could make them discouraging to consider, but with online business, some of those challenges are overcome. 1. You set your own schedule and call the shots The benefit of being an online business owner is that you are in charge of deciding when you want to work and also take the decisions on the day to day running of the business. You are your own boss. 2. Enjoy limitless freedom Many people are attracted to online businesses because of the freedom they offer. Modern technology has made it possible for businesses to be operated from any part of the world so, you are free to go wherever you want to go and do whatever you want to do without neglecting your business. 3. Access to a global market One attribute of an online business is that you can run it 24/7 without geographical boundaries or specific office hour. Your online business can reach a wider market and produce revenue while you sleep. lalasticlala, mynd1 MORE |
