This is not true, there is a difference between ponzi scheme and yahoo, most of this internet fraudsters use different method, I have a bitter experience some years ago, I was about to finish my NYSC, so I say a company (not individual) with a working website, with ads about a particular product I want to go into, the return was moderate about 8% gain, so you see, its not a get rich quick scheme, its was legit but they were not legit, I remember paying into a corporate account and all that. I felt it was secure, only to discover its one of the yahoo people, Trust me, for weeks I will just sit and wonder how someone could do such a thing.

Yes you can say, you will never do business online, but trust me, you can't go everywhere just to get a product, though I have other good experience online too, but the point is, anyone can be deceived, all that is needed is to get the right tools, in my case, I trusted the corporate world, the fact that they have a company bank account was what blinded me.

The, CCB don't send people to prison, he needs to be sent to a federal Court for that to happen.

Despite not accepting his resignation the court judge is still questionable. He didn’t declare doesn’t mean he shud forfeit unless u can prove beyond doubt the specific funds is proceeds of corruption. I expected them to settle out of court or come up with a strong conviction.

Firstly, The NJC recommendation is just a recommendation, in my own words the best course of action that will safe face for them and what they think won't bring to much noise to their house.

Secondly, there is something in court that they call "the idea is, the accuse is the one that should prove that the money he didn't declare is not a proceed of corruption. Now if he can't justify how he came about the money in the different account, the court will ask that he should forfeit all.

Lastly, settling out of court means, he has a feeling he is guilty, and trust the Nigeria press, they will paint him to high heavens. And as you know the government what to prove their stand on corruption and will consider this a declaration of guilt, you see the conundrum!

The difference is its not left to you, this is democracy, people go to court to seek redress, not burning people in hot oil because you think they are guilty of some crime.

That said, the process of convicting someone is not by public opinion, you need evidence, just because someone is richer that you are doesn't mean they are thieves! Now, we all know that immunity covers most government office holders, that is a fact, its in our constitution.

If someone is not a elected personnel and he is able to amaze lots of cash legally or otherwise, as far as the law enforcement can't catch him there is virtually nothing the government can do about it, even if everyone hate him to high heavens they can't arrest him until they have evidence. This is just a fact! if they do, he will just get out within the next hour and the government will just be a laughing stock.

The point is guilt is not a public concept, its a concept of evidence and without real evidence nothing much can be done.

His resignation has not be accepted or approved!

And yes like other offices, even if you resign and you resignation is not yet accepted by his principal, the court can convict and remove you, because by law, he is still in office even if suspended!

Its high time someone school, first a witness can not vindicated someone, that is why its a witness.

secondly, you have to understand what the case is before you can understand if the witness said anything in favour of the accused.

The case is an assert declaration case, its not a criminal case, nobody wants to know if he stole the money or if he collected bribe, (the public might want to know but, the CCT don't) its not important, what is important however is, did he fail to declare some of his assert and bank accounts. If that is a yes, he is convicted, no statement in his favour about not having money in the account or not collecting money is any of their business at this court, when he is prosecuted at the federal high court he can use those witness.

Now, back to his statement, he admitted he didn't declare, even if he didn't the prosecuting lawyer was able to prove he didn't declare all his assert i.e His bank accounts, numbering four (4) and they presented the evidence.

Next time, understand what you are saying before calling another ignorant! If you find yourself in a pit, the reasonable thing to do is to stop digging!
