Hello guys, So my younger brother has always been a handy person. After he finished his WAEC in 2013, he did not further his studies but rather went and learnt plumbing. The institute he learnt it from is not a recognized institute so to speak bur he was issued a certificate. He is doing very well as he has worked as contract/full time plumbing staff with several companies. He is presently working with a firm in PH as a full time plumbing staff. We had a discussion and he told me that he would like to get added advanced plumbing certifications to his present certificate as that will afford him the opportunity to be picked for training/oversea by his employer. I have tried to make research on Schools in USA/IRELAND but almost all requires him to write IELTS/TOEFL/GRE and to be honest, I doubt my brother will pass if he writes any of them. He is just not academically inclined whcih was why he did not bother with JAMB and all from the beginning. Please is there any school in either US, IRELAND or any of the Schenghen countries that accept just WAEC for a certificate/diploma course(not undergraduate degree). I would appreciate it if i'm given any pointers. Thank you all. 1 Like |

Ha.. you people's own is good na. My 19month old does not call me anything o. She calls my nephew his name cos that one carries her everywhere. One time, she heard me call her dad baby and that was how she shouted baby throughout that day. It was hilarious but she has not called me anything, mummy or ma or anything I can remember. Eby22: |
Properties / Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by spiceeamiee(f): 8:43pm On Jan 24, 2019 |
Good evening house. So I and my husband started a small building project recently. In fact the foundation just commenced this week and the building contractor who was recommended to us by my brother in law said that people no longer dig foundations to be very deep again, thag what they do is raft foundation. We decided to go with his suggestion as he seems to know what he is doing. However my dad and my father-in-law went to the site and has been bombarding us with calls saying the guy does not know what he is doing and that the house will soon collapse. In fact that the guy needs to dig really deep as the place is slightly water logged. My husband called his friend who is a civil engineer and they friend also confirmed that the raft foundation is what should be done but thag it should be done for 4feet as against the three fee our contractor wanted to do. However the level of calls from my dad and my father in law is worrying. They both have two houses in Lagos each and i know my dad is very knowledgeable about buildings and constructions but he is in his 70s and may not be privy with latest building advancements that why I said let me come and ask the people that can simplify this thing for me. Is digging deep the way to go or is the rafting the way to go? Structure is a one storey building. |

I believe they do engage them in activities as the class is fully multi-functional.. and the assignments are not write A-Z or 1-10. Its mainly scribbles and strokes to generally help them gain pen control which i think is part of cognitive development. Graciouscharis: |

Lmaoo . We did not do the one for Thursday because frankly i had to make a choice between my sanity and the assignment especially since hubby isn't around to help. When I took her to school yesterday, I just told her teachers thag her assignment was undone, they should add it to the one for weekend abeg. amorprincesa: 1 Like |

Is this something that happens generally? My baby just started school on Monday and she has come back with two scratches. I called the proprietress just this evening and she said let her ask the teacher. She later called back and said the teacher said she is scratching herself with her nails. I KNOW I trim my baby's nails every weekend as she is one to pinch you at any time so I checked her nails and they were well trimmed. Called the proprietress back and told her I will not accept my baby coming back home with any more scratches. She apologised and said she would personally check the nails of all the babies in reception class tomorrow so now I hope she follows through. @Liftedhands...happy birthday. More grace to you. Would be need that any mbaise soon so make I go dey save money. eksbabe: 1 Like |

When did she start? I'm guessing recently. Don't worry, she will adjust. My baby started school on Monday and was throwing serious tantrums when I was about to leave. Same thing yesterday. However immediately I carried her into her class today, this child of mine told me bye bye and started dancing to the nursery rhyme playing on TV. I laughed my ads out cos it was unexpected so don't worry, it would soon be over. UmmuFarrah: 1 Like |

If you keep listening to people that will tell you how their baby can carry 25kg of water by 10months old and can fly a plane by 11months old, you will have heart attack o. .. My baby had a mouth full of teeth by 8months and did not walk until 14months. Each child will reach their own milestone at their own time. Don't listen to people telling you nonsense and don't put your baby under pressure abeg. Mamas how una dey? I miss coming here often but life coupled with this belle has not been easy. @eskbabe where are You? Hope pregnancy is being good to you. Kematee: 1 Like |

First of all, which thieving lab collected 10k5 from you to do ICT? If you have to repeat the test, please locate Clinix lab close to you. It's N2,500. Secondly, if her blood is tainted, I don't think the pregnancy would have gotten upto 20weeks so I can say relax (a bit). Also, it is usually advisable to take Rhogam maximum of three times and minimum of two times. I know it's quite expensive but there is a an NGO in Ikeja/Ogba (can't remember the name, please Google them) that gives it to indigents for free or to non-indigents at 15k. Just pay them a visit and they should be able to help. All the best to you and your wife. aydot2100: 4 Likes |

Does she hold things to stand even if her feet is not firmly planted? My Dd used to be like that although she crawled fine just that her feet would not be 100% on the floor and she did not walk on time. We saw an orthopaedic surgeon who recommended some sort of specialised shoe we had to buy from US but before we could even order for it she started walking perfectly and now I long for the days she was not walking. Lol. Anyways what I'm trying to say is see an orthopaedic surgeon for proper diagnosis Blissfulfruit: |

My baby is like this too. You never really know when she would eat and the constant worrying of what to prepare gives me headache. But try August secrets or Baby grubs. I'm sure he would take it. Those are our go to breakfast these days. I add chunks of fruits or mashed bananas and youghurt for extra nutrition. At least I know breakfast and cereal is sorted. It's the other two meals of the day that is a constant yoyo. I hope they outgrow it soon. eksbabe: |

I have a toddler and a baby on the way with no help. My toddler is in a creche close to the house and the creche owner is really flexible with time. I just make sure to pack an extra feed for her each day cos you never can tell with Lagos traffic. I get so uncomfortable in traffic and my baby is the same way. I can always come down from the bus and take bike but with a baby, its a no no. If you and your hubby's route are the same, you may put your baby in a creche close to your office, otherwise just find one close to home so baby does not go through the stress f traffic and all. OK dear. Check Lateef Adegboyega. There is one just after Soul Centre Bar. Its with Nursery School. I will check the name for you later. Then there is one opposite Bennisant School. I think its called Brighter Future Creche. There are about three more just down that road cos I checked them all when I was looking for one for my baby. The one she goes to is near Dawn Micheal schools. Its called Same Family Haven. amorprincesa: |

I want to laugh but I cant because this and many more are my current struggles. When I want to rest, I just put her on the bed and lie beside her pressing phone. The bed is quite high so she can't climb down so she stays there either pulling my nose or dragging my hair or thumping my stomach but at least I'm not shouting No. Leave there. Hey. Chai. eksbabe: 1 Like |
